1 starThe worst company to do business with.
We switched to Paycor when they acquired our previous payroll company. We started having issues immediately. After signing the contract no one contacted us until 2 months later. There was no training, no conversations on what the system offered. We received our credentials the same day the payroll needed to be submitted.
Some of our issues included:
-Our first checks were received without signatures, even though all required documentation was submitted.
-We could not contact anyone over the phone or online chat after 2 pm due to the time zone.
-Our accruals were never set up correctly.
-Taxes were not paid on time.
-ACA/HR services were never set up. We were charged monthly.
-Rushed implementation. Security measures were not set up, which lead to the biggest issue being the FRAUD committed on our account, with over $17,000 stolen from our company. Someone was able to log in to our account even with the authentication set up. After contacting Paycor regarding this issue, we were contacted by a customer advocate that let us know Paycor had additional security measures built in the system that were not turned on and that could have prevented the fraud. Security measures we were unaware of. Even with the Fraud issue, we were not ever contacted by a Manager/Supervisor. The customer advocate would message them, but no one has ever reached out to us. We tried calling the customer service line, and we were still unable to reach a Manager/Supervisor. Instead of assisting us in figuring out how this fraud occurred and how to resolve the issue, Paycor charged us multiple fees and said there was nothing they could do.
We let them know in writing that we would not continue with the company if they could not resolve our issues, they still charged us cancellation fees.Review fromPatty C

It’s been 4 months I have submitted requests after requests to refund charges for services never requested other than payroll. No refund and now its been 3 weeks trying to cancel my service & no result. I'm so frustrated at the zero accountability to close my account after varies written requests over last 3 weeks. I will never recommend Paycor; they are horrible for small businesses.Paycor, Inc.

Worst business decision I've ever made. Paycor does not care about you. They sweet-talk you into a deal that's not appropriate and fail to mention critical information that hurts you in the end. They are ESPECIALLY dangerous to nonprofits.I run a small tutoring business and nonprofit. Through our business, we tutor kids to help them boost their academic skills, find confidence, and become better people through education. We donate our net profits to our nonprofit tutoring organization so we can do the same thing for ALL kids, regardless of income level. When I started looking into Paycor, they were attentive, present, and interested in my needs. The sales guy talked to me for an hour on ****, got to know my needs, and made recommendations. But my organizations were way too small for Paycor's package, and he knew that. He sold me on Paycor by offering the first year at 50%while failing to mention that it was a 2-year contract. If I walked away after the first year, they would charge back the rest of the 50%. Over $1,000 taken away from my business for no reason, and over $1,000 taken away from students in need. But the icing on the cake was their customer service when I tried to leave. I called several times and got a nice guy in ***** who was just trying to do his job but would then punt me to this ********* entity called "The Offboarding Team": a faceless, nameless body that barely reviewed my case and refused to engage with me as a human. I emailed several representatives, none of whom responded. I downloaded all of these correspondences purely for their comedic value and will review these as I age along with my wedding photos and favorite ********** short, Paycor is a bad boyfriend: they love-bomb you and leave you. Paycor is a parasite: they will take everything they can without regard for how it affects other people. But at the end of the day, the most brutally accurate thing I can say about Paycor is this:Paycor and **** ***** DESERVE each other.Paycor, Inc.

We understand your frustration and disappointment with your experience with Paycor. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. Upon reviewing your account, it appears that the charges you mentioned were assessed in accordance with the Customer Service Agreement (CSA) that you signed. Early termination or promotional chargedback fees are standard procedures when a customer leaves during their promotional period or after implementation work has begun. These charges are considered valid and subject to collection. We apologize if there was any miscommunication regarding the terms of your contract. We strive to provide clear and transparent information to our customers, and we regret that this was not the case in your situation. Regarding your experience with our customer service, we apologize for any frustration caused. We aim to provide exceptional support to all our customers, and we regret that we fell short of your expectations. Your feedback will be shared with the relevant teams to ensure we improve our service moving forward. If you have any further concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to our customer service team. We value your feedback and appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns.M. H.

Hi,
You state that "the charges [I] mentioned were assessed in accordance with the Customer Service Agreement (CSA) that [I] signed." I do not dispute this; you got me. You got me with your infinitesimally fine print, none of which the sales guy mentioned during our multiple calls. You got me. You won. I got got.
But I don't have to respect the way you do business; I'm under no obligation to respect the fact that Paycor survives on getting people—good people. So, enjoy the money you took from me and my nonprofit, and consider using it to feed people. Or perhaps you could buy kids school supplies. Or perhaps you might use it to pay that guy in India more—he was the only decent person I talked to. In fact, he was the only person I talked to at all, once Paycor had gotten me.
Sincerely,

I have been disappointed with their company since I enrolled in Sept of 2023 (it has now been a full year). I did a very thorough demo and every time I asked for specifics on reports and data I was told it would be available in a non-dummy data environment, their demo didn't have enough depth. This has yet to be true. Their reports are mainly in PDF which are not easily convertible to excel to extrapolate the data that I need and they claimed would be easily available. It is not easy to format additional reports that you want. You have to jump through 3-4 hoops in order to get to a CSR for the area you indicated by phone in the beginning and then validated 2 more times upon subsequent transfers. Billing is not correct and they don't adjust or fix it although they claim they will. Onboarding is terribly difficult and not streamlined or logical at all. The process from approving timecards, to reviewing as a manager, to actually running payroll is not logical and you have to click in completely different areas to get it accomplished. Should you need to make a change on a submitted payroll that will not be pulled/funded for another 4-5 days, you have to cancel and re-run the whole thing, a CSR has to actually cancel it- you can only make an online request but you better make sure you get confirmation on the cancellation or they will run the payroll twice. When this does occur, they cannot guarantee that Direct Deposit funds can be withdrawn- again even when the payroll has yet to be pulled/funded. They have the ability for their software to be great, but their basic fundamentals, knowledgeable customer service ***** assistance with their product and corrections on errors are incredibly and ridiculously absent. I have been trying to cancel since my second month of payroll and haven't been able to do it yet. I have been escalated and assured my information is being worked on- but no changes. I can't wait to change.Paycor, Inc.

Paycor software actually works quite well; however, their customer service is non-existent, their billing is not transparent, and the human side of things generally falls short. In multiple instances, they have failed to file taxes and submit payments on time, then when I receive a notice and try to contact them, I can not speak to anyone on the tax team "they are not a customer-facing team." The front-line CSRs tell me it is an 8-10 week turnaround to get any kind of response from the tax team. This is for a notice of delinquency that is their fault and their responsibility to pay! They also make mistakes on billing and refuse to correct them, simply ghosting me whenever I have asked questions. And definitely DO NOT use them if you run payroll twice a month. They can not understand that setup, and their system can not handle it.Paycor, Inc.

WORST PAYROLL COMPANY!! You CAN'T get proper help to set up the account. You CAN'T get proper help to deal with onboarding or termination assistance. And even when you try to stop using their service entirely, they make up invoices with different numbers of employees EVERY WEEK, that you didn't even process through them, and charge you for it. This company gives you the run around to get you account closed and your money back. THIEVES!!!STAY AWAY!!!Paycor, Inc.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding your concerns. We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced during your time with Paycor.
Upon reviewing your account, we found that we were notified to close your account(s) on 08/08/024. As per our Customer Service Agreement (CSA) and Terms and Conditions, Paycor requires a minimum of 30 days notice prior to the last processing date. Since the termination process was not completed until after your last check date, the charges incurred would be considered valid.
We understand that setting up an account and receiving proper assistance during onboarding and termination can be crucial for a smooth experience. We apologize if you felt that our support did not meet your expectations in these areas. We continuously strive to improve our services and appreciate your feedback.Review fromJanki P

I agree with the same reviews that ***** * *** ******* ******** put. I wish there were negative ratings, and I would have given that to them. They billed incorrectly for so many invoices. When it was brought to their attention, they said they would check and get back, and nothing had happened. They charged closure fees which is unheard of, and also disabled all access without any notification. To re-enable access, we had to pay again. After paying, the platform does not allow me to run reports, etc. Compared to ***** and other platforms, this is the most horrible application and service I have ever dealt with. We moved away from ***** to transfer to Paycor but ***** still has maintained our access as they know that the employers will need access to information for so many regulatory requests. I will never recommend Paycor to anyone and either they improve big time or shut down. WORST SYSTEM and SERVICE EVER! I wish I had read these reviews before choosing them.Paycor, Inc.

I don't think I have ever had worse customer service. If you call you stay on hold forever. When you do finally get to speak with someone it feels like they have no idea what you are talking about and I have to explain their system to them. If you submit a case online it goes unanswered. If you use the chat they tell you to call or submit a case online. I had a very bad tax issue that Paycor caused a couple of years ago and couldn't get anyone to respond. I finally went on Linked in and found the highest ranking person I could and sent the a message. I cannot imagine a company of this size just ignoring all the bad reviews about their customer service but they sure haven't done anything to fix it! 1000% do not recommend!Paycor, Inc.

Worst service ever. They illegally bill and can't detail what they bill for. Then they make mistakes and retroactively bill us for their mistakes! Illogical business model and bills - you pay additional fees when you don't have a state tax filing (due to an employee termination). They never look at root cause or overall client mistreatment. Wasted phone calls to 1-800-robot and green CSRs reading script. No resolution. Find a different pay vendor who has service level requirements and an account rep that has stake in your service, rather than sell more bad uncaring service.Paycor, Inc.

That is the usual copy paste lip service. Then you tell us to call ***** customer service line where nothing gets resolved and mostly untrained people that don't understand anything. Don't care about your empty and insulting shrg off apology. We want you to provide legal bills that reflect service you provide, a sophisticated service rep, and paycor to reimburse us for all the wasted run around time.Review fromKristin Anderson

We used Paycor for four years. The sales team did a fabulous job convincing us that it would suit our company. Implementation and customer service did not live up to the hype. Implementation was haphazard at best, and after four years we were still experiencing issues related to the poor implementation. Each time we reached out to customer service, we would get someone different, who did not understand how our software was set up. Multiple calls to try to fix something, only to have something else break. Time clocks would always go down and we would have to manually reset them. Paycor couldn't figure out why, and we eventually just set a schedule to reboot the clocks manually every morning. We finally cancelled and moved to a different company, and were charged an exorbitant "account closure convenience fee" even though they are also charging us for two months of service because we cancelled early. I believe the cancellation fee is their main source of revenue. During implementation, we had to insist that dual payrolls be run to ensure we wouldn't have any issues. THANK GOODNESS we stuck to our guns. It took three dual payrolls to iron out most of the problems. We alerted our "customer success rep" six months before we had to bring another facility up. This facility had the exact same policies as our other four. They didn't start the set up until we were faced with our first payroll. Our first payroll was a disaster. We didn't get a 403b file for three months! All they had to do was copy what was already in place, and they couldn't even do that! I will never go back to Paycor.Paycor, Inc.

It is important to note that this fee is outlined in the client service agreement (CSA) and is a standard practice in the industry. The fee is in place to cover administrative costs associated with closing an account and ensuring a smooth transition for our clients. We strive to be transparent about our fees and provide detailed information in our CSA to set clear expectations. We apologize for any frustration caused by these issues and appreciate your feedback. I just found out that although we are paying to have access to our reports, this does not include our Time on Demand reports - which we need in order to comply with Payroll Based Journal reporting. If we can't retrieve that report, we will be subject to fines and a reduction of our star rating - resulting in lower reimbursements from CMS and our providers. Not only did we pay exorbitant fees to exit your company, it appears your company is now going to cost us even more.
