An unauthorized employee signed a document with Cintas in 2018, committing us to a 5-year contract with them. We accepted that we would be in that contract for 5 years but had planned to terminate services in October 2023 when the contract expired. Almost since the inception of the agreement, Cintas has attempted deceptively to have other employees sign documents unknowingly extending our contract another 5 years. They had one employee sign a blank "addendum" that did not amend our contract but one of the conditions of signing according to them is an extension of our contract. This was also an unauthorized employee. When we told them this person was unauthorized. They then produced an updated contract that they stated I signed which was not previously presented to me. Additionally, the signature is questionable as it is not identifiable as being mine, and I was told it was hard signed but the document they produced was electronic. They use deceptive practices to extend their contracts and have taken advantage of us. They are trying to hold us to their services which we requested to be canceled per the terms of the original contract.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, reasons for rejection are included below. They have continued to unnecessarily stop by our office multiple times without making an appointment. They have called and left a message today saying there was emergency and that we needed to call. We work in mental health. This was not an emergency. But rather a ploy to get us to call them despite them having had their attorney contact us with.

Cintas verbally misrepresented themselves in the initial and subsequent sales calls, and added products and fees to our weekly service without our consent. The sales representative also claimed that Cintas was certified for its sustainability practices by the ***** ********** ***********, which it is not. We are audited and have been certified by the *** for the past 10+ years, and we a *** vendor listing certification as prerequisite to any contracts. Additionally and finally, Cintas doesn't make clear when signing their agreements that there is a 5-year gotcha-clause hidden in the agreement. So, if one disputes charges or needs to cancel service, they hold a bill for thousands of dollars ($28,000 in our case) over your head threatening legal action. This practice in and of itself should be scrutinized, as it is more typical of predatory lending business models which put small businesses at a disadvantage. In spite of my communicating that we would be paying off an agreed upon past balance (which includes questionable charges) , in installments, Cintas continues to send drivers to our business harass us. We are in good standing and have excellent references with ALL of our vendors, and have solid relationships with many going back 13+ years. Cintas stands alone in their strong arm tactics without any responsibility to account for customer disputes.Business Response

I started a new business an was looking for uniforms. I approached Cintas an they sent a salesman to meet me named Casey. He promised me that there was no service contract an it only depended on the customer service. An if I wasn't happy I could get out any time. CASEY LIED TO ME! For three years I put up with pants that didn't fit. I called numerous times. Nobody never fixed the issue
So after being complete exhausted I tried to stop service. That's when I was told I had a five year contract. I had never seen. The clothes didn't fit. All I wanted was new pants that fitted. After numerous complaints, the stoped my service( I didnt officially request) an then sent letters from a lawyer threatening me. Please help all I wanted was pants that fit. Citnas is a very un savory business. Crooked.Business Response

This particular customer was contacted on multiple occasions to come to a resolution and a size change in pants was ordered by our Key Account Manager on July 17th. Our service manager contacted this customer in October and the customer not only refused to negotiate, but cursed at him in a very unprofessional manner. The General Manager was in the room and overheard the entire conversation. At this time the customer stated they wouldn't spend another amount of money with Cintas and shut down the conversation. At that time, Cintas chose to send this matter to the attorney and a letter was drafted and sent.Initial Complaint

A Cintas representative approached me on September of 2022, and encouraged me with his word that " I can get out of the contract anytime, any reason, no penalty" to get me into a contract with Cintas, and which I did.
June of 2023, I wasn't happy with their service and payment so I called in to cancel. Later a supervisor Larry called me back and persuaded to continue with a limited service and cheaper rates. I've tried for few months', Oct 11th, 2023, I finally decided to cancel but Cintas denied the words of the representative who hooked me the contract that " I can cancel anytime, any reason, no penalty "
I simply want to cancel the contract without penalty. I simply want the Cintas to honor what their representative promised me.Business Response

I am registering a complaint against Cintas Corp. for unethical and illegal business practices.
In July 2022, I made an appointment with a Cintas technician for our annual fire extinguisher inspection. When finished he gave me a bill for close to $900. This was a huge increase above previous years, however, I paid it on the spot as I always have. At that point I informed him that I would no longer be using Cintas due to the price increases. He said he would pass that on to his manager. I immediately called his manager as well, to let him know I would no longer be using Cintas. He stated he was sorry to lose me as a customer. I expressed the same on a survey Cintas sent me.
To my surprise, on July 31, 2023, I received an email from Cintas with a bill for $331.78. I immediately called the office to speak with a manager, instead I got a call back from the technician. He had managed to gain access to the property despite me not being there and without my permission. It is a rental property. I explained to him what I outlined above. He stated that he would have to pay the bill because it was his mistake. I again asked to speak to his manager, but never heard from Cintas again until I received a second email on September 26, 2023, with the invoice, again, for $331.78 with threats to send the bill to collections if I didn't pay immediately.
Even though for 9 years I have initiated a phone call to Cintas to schedule an appointment, personally met with Cintas for the inspection, reviewed the service bill in person and paid in person, for some reason Cintas is unable to explain, Cintas chose to trespass on my property, did something with my fire extinguishers that I am unable to verify and emails me a bill! In addition, they are now threatening to send this to collections if I dont pay up. This is clearly extortion.
I have no contractual agreement or obligation to use Cintas' services. I believe Cintas must cease collections action and void the invoice.Business Response

I am writing to formally complain about the business ethic of CINTAS Corp office in Las Vegas. We entered an agreement with CINTAS in 2019 when we started business. All went well but after a year the cost of their service was too expensive for our business turnover. When I tried to cancel the agreement they required me to buy out the contract or reduce the amount and continue for the term of the agreement. Reluctantly we reduced the service to $150 per week and continued to work through the 3 year agreement.
Last week I finally called back to cancel the agreement as we are closing part of the business and was told there was a amendment signed in February that extended the agreement for another 3 years. This was never explained to me and the only thing I had ever signed for were the delivery of mats to the driver when he dropped them off.
This company does not have ethical practice. I have done what I can to cancel and remove our business relationship. All I am asking is that they formally agree to cancel our account and hope we an work together in the future.
Kind regards, ***** *******Business Response

***** *******It seems they assigned my account to a new sales rep who I have spoken to twice and she has tried to set up a meeting. I have told her I am not interested in working with CINTAS and just want the account closed. The weekly call service has stopped and I have paid the final billing statement. Hopefully this is the best outcome we can hope for and they just close the account.

Service renewal was up for renewal. They let us know in the same month. We told the company we no longer needed their service. Cancellation letter was sent to the *** ********** office and their corporate office in Mason, Ohio. They are now stating that a service agreement that was signed 5 years ago is still active because notice was not given 180 days but no less than 90 days in advance. They did not give us 180/90 days notice. They show up here and do nothing but had over an invoice. They claim this is servicing the company. I have proof of all letters sent to this company. They are trying to make us use other services of theirs. We don't want anything from them but to get rid of them. Can you please help us.Customer Answer

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Cintas Company, regarding their improper business practices and unethical treatment towards our studio, ****** **** ********. Despite having a service agreement in place stating they will service our studio monthly, Cintas has provide no such services for the past several months, while simultaneously sending invoices/statements and employing a collection agency to demand payment for non-existent services. I've tried multiple times to reach out to the company to figure out why I am being billed for non-delivery of services, falsified documentations, and unfair collection practices. But have yet to hear from anyone in the actual office.Business Response
