      This is a complaint about false advertising. I ordered 2 boxes of pears ("buy a 2nd box for 1/2 price) based on the photos that Harry&David used to advertise the pears and the promotion. The photo clearly shows 9 pears per box. I received one box with 12 pears. I sent an email inquiring why and received this reply: Thank you for contacting us.We are very sorry that the number of The Favorite Royal Riviera Pears in your gift was not clear. Our fruit gifts are packed by weight. The [The Favorite Royal Riviera Pears that you ordered contain Net Weight: 5 lb of fruit, which is approximately Approx. **** Royal Riviera Pears pieces. The actual number of The Favorite Royal Riviera Pears will be dependent on the size of the fruit available at the time of packing.We appreciate the opportunity to explain. If we can be of further assistance, please don't hesitate to ask.Best wishes,****** May V.Harry and David *************************************************** It is unlikely I would have bought the pears had I known they were actually selling a 2.5lb box of pears for $29.       I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. HOWEVER, there is still the issue that the representation of the product that one will receive (a photo of 9, perfect condition pears) has nothing to do with what the consumer actually receives. In other words, there should be clear, forwardly presented statement saying that there is little relationship between the advertised photo and what you (the customer) will receive. "You will receive pears by weight not by number. The condition and appearance of your pears may not correspond to the photo."  The "slippery" advertising is my major complaint.

      I placed several orders through Harry & Davids for ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges. Here is the breakdown: On November 13, 2022, I placed an advance order for ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges, for $132.98, to be delivered January/February 2023. On December 17, 2022, I placed another advanced order for ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges for $110.98, to be delivered January/February 2023. On December 28, 2022, I placed another order for ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges and Royal Riviera Pears for $132.97. The pears were delivered with no problem and the ******* Honeybell ******* Oranges were delivered on January 26, 2023. This shipment was fine. On January 12, 2023, I placed another advanced order for ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges for $110.98. On February 10, 2023, I called Harry & Davids customer service to check on all of my outstanding orders. The customer service representative proceeded to tell me that the entire crop of ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges was destroyed and all orders for those oranges will be replaced with Western Honeybell Oranges. I explained that I received one order of the ******* ******* Oranges already so the entire crop could not have been damaged and other family members already received their ******* ******* Honeybell Oranges and I was never notified of the change in the order by phone, email or text. I proceeded to explain that the oranges are completely different and I felt it was bad business to just substitute products without letting the customer know. He laughed and offered me other products. After going back and forth a few minutes, he finally started the process for my refund. My complaint is the company substituting products that are completely different and less cost for the more expensive and higher quality product then not notifying the customers of those changes.

      On January 13 2023 I ordered from Harry and David 3 items which included one tray of Honeybell Oranges. Two of the items arrived on the day that they were expected. The Honeybell Oranges were to arrive on Jan 20th. They never arrived and a days later after the 20th I called Harry and David customer service. The customer service stated that the oranges could not be filled. They never before I called sent a refund nor a notice of the situation. Therefore, on the call the customer service replaced my items with the Honeybells in a basket tray. After no shipping notification of the replacement never came, I called Harry and David again and a different **************** rep promised the delivery of my replacement order of Honeywell oranges would arrive by Feb 2nd. They never shipped and never arrived.I need assistance as they have indicated to me now 2 times and have my money and I have no Honeybells that I was promised and had originally paid for.

      HARRY & DAVID continuous BAIT & SWITCH November 26, 2022, I ordered 7 identical citrus items from Harry & David for shipment in January. ORDER # **********. The order was CHANGED without my knowledge or consent. Harry & David made substitutions that were unacceptable. From customer reviews, this seems to be very common. Notice of substitutions is not found anywhere when ordering. If I had not checked my order numerous times I would not have known. Prepaid items that I did not order would have been sent as my "gift". Because only 2 of the 7 items have yet to be delivered (past the guaranteed date), I was able to cancel the 2 orders with substitutions. In order to replace those items with the only other vendor still offering the same item, ********************* in *******. It cost me $124. This was $68 more than my original order with H&D. Because of H&D unauthorized and unacceptable substitution in my order, it COST me an additional $68 to fulfill my own November order! I would like a FULL REFUND of my entire $187 order for this mangled mess, secret substitutions, misrepresentations made to me by customer service, my time, and additional costs. At a minimum, I should be refunded $68 refund for my actual costs. Suppliers were available. H&D didn't bother to obtain the product promised. H&D must STOP this business practice. It is basically fraud.

      I have been attempting "in vain" to learn how to use my Giftastic Points I have earned some **** Points for being a Passport Member for 2 + years. I have chatted on Virtual Chat, I have called Harry & David directly, and I have sent numerous emails. I started all this on Friday, January 27th, 2023 and I still have not received an answer. I will attach some of the email history below so that I do not have to reinvent the wheel here. I just want Harry and David to send me an email and tell me how I can redeem my points. I have never received any information, at all, on how to redeem them and I have been a very loyal customer for over 2 years.

      Harry and David and **** Flowers have scammed their employees out of jobs and have lied about employees leaving their job so that those employees cannot collect unemployment, Harry and David is extremely unprofessional and refuse to answer phone calls and have unethical values in the workplace.

      In late december, one of my employees family members passed away. From the team, we purchased a sympathy basket from harry and david and added $40 shipping to ensure that the basket would be there timely for the services. I let the employee know that something was on its way from us. After about 5 days I happened to find it odd that she said nothing. I then checked on the status and it showed it was still in the shipping period. I called and they said they didn't know why it wasn't delivered. They would reissue the order. I received the following day an email that your order was shipped! So I never followed up. Just yesterday, (late january) I saw the employee and she mentioned she never got anything. Thankfully she communicated this with me. When calling customer service, they offered a full refund or a replacement. Hm, neither helps me. I am mortified. I asked if they could give me a different kind of basket (since its been so long and I dont want to reupset the family) and if I can still get a refund because of the situation. Their answer was no, only one or the other. I am completely baffled. I ended up with the refund like this never happened. I want to speak to someone at Harry and David. What they did is absolutely absurd and level of customer service completely inadequate. Safe to assume I will not be using them in the future.

      On 12/16/22 I ordered 2 bonsai trees from the Harry & David website to be delivered to my mother on December 22, 2022. The order # W01005841876780 for a cost of $135.01. I signed up to get text messaged updates which thankfully I received. When I was notified by text that the delivery arrived, I reached out to my dad to ensure they received. He found the delivery outside in the -11 temperature and the items died. I went online to chat with customer service and was transferred 4 times. Each time being told the order wasn't in the system. Finally, the last person I spoke with promised a new shipment. I asked if the delivery was temperature controlled and the individual refused to answer. Just as the conversation closed, they said if the item wasn't available would I instead accept 2 dozen roses,etc. I said no since that was not the item requested on my mothers Christmas list. I said I expected a new item or a refund. I then said that after over an hour and 10 minutes that I needed to leave to get to another commitment. I never received a refund and my mother did not receive a replacement. I reached out again on January 3, 2023 via email and have not received a response, refund, or replacement. The email I sent is in the attachment as is the chat from 1800flowers-who is apparently a sister company that provided this item. The invoice, payment, and all communication came from Harry & David so that is why I communicated my dissatisfaction to them.

      I ordered two boxes of fruit one for my self and one for my daughter I got a big of the cream of the crop pares they were deformed hard brown they were disgusting now my daughter never received hers I called Harry and David and the lady acted like she had no understanding then I order a different fruit was supposed to get it 12/23/22 fruitless they charged my card ****** this company has nothing but foreign people working there who wont let you speak with a supervisor who always want you to verify your information over and over and over and over and over again couldnt get a supervisor then she going tell me that it will be 10 days before I get a refund I dont think so they never sent my daughter her box and they never did a replacement but sent a email saying they did but they did not they are scammers those pears are brown rusted and deformed I told the lady send me a return sticker they look so undesirable selling trash like that and them foreign people and go back to speak to a supervisor they act like they dont know what youre talking about the act like youre dumb and slow I told the rep that the box I wanted was the pars popcorn cheese crackers that fruit cake had it all messed up cant trust them and they send the books out to me to order trying tell me its out for delivery really they said my daughter box was delivered the other day they croocks chargeing people card and not delivering the box I ordered and they wasnt cheap Harryanddavid.com I called them several times fruitless I am ****** they knew they had no intention on delivering at all

      The customer was partially refunded on 12/21/22 and the balance was refunded on 12/23/22.  She has been refunded in full.
