Was told that they were looking for ads for a local golf course. We agreed to place an ad. They let us know that they would mail out the cards prior to the golf course receiving them. The golf course is in full swing, our advertisements are no where on their cards. The golf course has never heard of these people and say they do not work with them. I never received any of the cards showing the advertisements they promised. The people I speak to on the phone are rude, dont answer my questions and hang up on me. I have still seen nothing from them. They need to be shut down they are scamming millions of companies with their lies.

We have contacted this customer in order to address her concerns. Attached to this response is the *** tracking information for the bulk shipment of course guides that were sent directly to the golf course and a scanned image of the customers advertisement included in the publication. We have contacted the General Manager at the golf course and have confirmed delivery of the shipment as well as our relationship with the course for the last 15 years.  We can only assume ************************ spoke to a random person at the golf course that is not aware of who the golf course management team contracts for their printing needs. This information was also sent directly to ************************. It is unfortunate that someone would state on a public forum that a business is "scamming millions of companies". We forgive ************************ for her egregious and erroneous statement. We consider this complaint closed.

I am rejecting this response because: Please reach out to me regarding ************************ egregious and erroneous response via telephone. My other concern for all those reading this, is please respond only by e-mail as the nature of his response via telephone is not one, I would assume he, would want publicly shared with the response to my claim. Please get everything, including his behavior recorded or in writing if you need to make a claim against this company.

I have been working with Bench Craft since March 2022. *********************** is my sales representative. During our sales call ****** promised me a 3 year deal with tee box and bench Ads for *******, ********* and ******* golf courses. In addition to this sale, I purchased tee box and bench ads at Lake ******, which came with a back cover ad at **************************************************. I know that some of the work has been completed, and some hasn't even though my purchase was more than a year ago. I have requested documentation confirming all of the ads I purchased but all I received is a one year receipt for ******* and copy of a course guide. My advice is to get everything in writing, along with dates on when the ads will be installed. I'm hoping that ****** has just been to busy to send over the documentation. Hopefully someone at Bench Craft with more time can confirm my purchases. Here is my Account# ***************.

I was contacted by email by this company, trying to sell me advertisement on a single bench at a local golf course. I ended up agreeing and paid for a year long period. I never saw the bench at the course or any proof it had been done. I chalked it up as a foolish decision loss and didnt pursue it further. At the time for renewal for this year, I was contacted by the company through email again to which I responded with a decline. A day or so later, I received a text message from someone with a different name to which I responded with another decline. I continue to receive these email messages and phone texts offering me first chance to get the bench ad space. It is at a point that it is feeling like harassment. Ive blocked each of the numbers of the texts however they just use a different number. Ive made my decision clear. Shouldnt my no thank you be sufficient?

We have contacted ************** regarding his claim that he never saw his bench advertisement at the host golf course. We asked if he had gone to the course or was assuming it had never been posted. ************** claimed that he went to the course and his ad was never placed. Attached to this response is a picture of his bench posted at the host golf course where it has been for months. We are unsure as to why he would author a complaint and state over the phone that his advertisement had never been completed. It our hope that people don't question anything else he has authored recently and that his statement was made out of frustration due to sales calls he was receiving. We do not have a record of ************** contacting our corporate office to request that we do not offer any further renewals of his ad. Had we received such a request we would have obliged immediately. Before our call with ************** ended abruptly he voiced his concern about the integrity of the bbb. It is not clear if he understands the accreditation process or if his business is accredited. We have made note in our system that ************** does not wish to be contacted about renewing his advertisement. We welcome a phone call if he needs any further assistance and wish him the best.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory only because it states that they will leave me alone. This response from them tries to make it sound like I wanted a refund from the previous year since I personally did not physically see proof that the ad was created and in place anywhere. My only complaint is that they just kept bothering me about renewing after I told them no thank you. Why this company, that has been in business for 40 years as the young man on the telephone told me multiple times, will not respect its customers and listen to their wishes Ill not understand. The person who called me talked down to me, was condescending, rude, and unwilling to let me speak for most of the call. In fact he talked over me most of the call so all I could do at the end was to talk over him. Then, I finally relented and gave up by restating that I did not want further contact from them and to somehow notate it in their system, then said goodbye and ended the call.  The response messsge from them is another condescending attempt to vilify me for contacting the BBB to try to get them to stop contacting me.  How dare I complain I guess.  At the time of my contact with the BBB, there were 44 registered complaints by others showing for this organization.

We have asked this company to stop contacting us on multiple occasions, but they keep trying to get us to buy into their scam golf score card services. Once you mention BBB, all communication stops. Their website contact form doesn't work.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/14/2023

It ** unfortunate that *********************** the *** and President of **************** would call a 40 year old company a scam on a public forum. This is extremely unprofessional and ignorant. Especially seeing as he has an A+ rating with the BBB and has been in business for 29 years. It is our assumption that he is normally much more rational in his business dealings and that emotion must have gotten the best of him. We understand that he would prefer not to receive sales calls. A phone call from him to our corporate office would have suffice to accomplish his request. Most business owners receive sales calls and understand it is a part of doing business. Our website contact form is functioning properly. We welcome a phone call from **************** so that we can find out which of his local golf courses we need to notate not to contact his business. We will adhere to his request and not contact him regarding this complaint. We consider the complaint closed.

I am rejecting this response because this business is completely disingenuous in their approach. Local golf courses do not contact them for services. Just read the laundry list of BBB complaints against them. I am personally offended by their dishonest approach. This is not emotion, it's fact.

In Dec 2021, I purchased two $395 ads from Bench Craft Company for golf course flyers. They withdrew two payments of $395 in Dec 2021 and Jan 2022. In March, the *** **** called to make decisions about the flyer. They also sent me text message that this completed the processing and I would then be paid in full. I thought this was the 2nd payment of $395, but actually it was a 3rd payment of $395. They fraudulently withdrew a 3rd payment of $395 in April ********************************************************* the future (23/24). They conducted misleading practices of acting like they were completing the initial sale, but actually processed a third ad and charged me for it. In April 2022, they charged me for a third ad without my permission and passed it off as p*** of the prior sale. A few month later in 2022, I was contacted for further advertisements and I informed Bench Craft that I was no longer interested in running further ads with them. However, in April 2023, I received a text message that my card was being charged again. I called and had a very unpleasant conversation with their sales person "*********" who tried to tell me I had previously authorized more ads. In researching the prior payments, I realized they withdrew three payments instead of two and passed it of as p*** of the only approval I ever gave them in 2021 for a total of $790. I authorized $790 in advertisements and was charged $1185. I would like to be reimbursed for $395. I would also like them to remove my credit card information and to refrain from ever contacting me or trying to text approval for any type of advertising. This is company is regularly trying to defraud customers by using misleading sales tactics and processing payment by vague and misleading text messages. This company also provides insufficient and misleading documentation of advertisements.

      Complaint: 19496549

I am rejecting this response because:

I just now finally received copies of all the advertising material for each golf club, something that I was promised multiple times from the sales rep for the past several months.

It is now abundantly clear that I was not the sole industry-specific sponsor/ advertiser in each publication, something that I was promised as an inducement to gain my business. I would have never entered into the contract had I known that 6 out of 7 of the publications would contain multiple companies performing the same services as our firm.

Its a waste to continue to commit resources to address this subject, so we now consider it closed.

I am seeking a $395 refund for ******** Service, LLC from Benchcraft Company of ********, ******. I am the Accountant for ********'s.August 22, 2022 - Benchcraft Company received by credit card, $395 from ****************, LLC, **************************************. Purchase was authorized by *******************************, Manager of ********'s; a towing and auto repair company. ******* was promised, in a telephone solicitation from Benchcraft - a "Scorecard" ad at the local *********************** (BTC) golf course in Lancaster, **. Despite numerous attempts, I could not get proof of the ad being published, or Scorecards being delivered to BTC by Benchcraft. ****** of Benchcraft is insisting that I should wait for BTC to confirm receipt of the Scorecards. I have already confirmed between emails and telephone conversations with *******************, 15 year Gold Professional of BTC - that he does not have the Scorecards. He did not even recognize the Dadswell name as an advertiser. It is not his responsibility to prove of disprove whether the ads were ever published. I trust that they were not - as he told me on February 3, 2023. He confirmed that Benchcraft supplies Scorecards with ads on them to BTC - for FREE. He understands the advertisers contracted by Benchcraft pay for the advertisements.Despite numerous attempts, I can not get ****** (No last name!) of Benchcraft to prove printing or delivery of the Scorecards. All I have "Proof" of - is an electronic email attachment of the proposed ad. There was no promise of how many Scorecards would be printed, when printed or delivered (common business practices). 'Proof" of *** tracking supplied - only showed that a 52lb package was delivered to Lancaster, **. No ship 'from or to' addresses, or payment to *** noted. I raised all issues with ******. His company - he should have supplied as I requested.Of note - I recovered two other payments to Benchcraft - which ****** DID refund to ********'s for "failure to deliver'" ads.

We have taken the appropriate action regarding 2 transactions and purchases that were found to have been input in our system incorrectly on a golf course by the exact same name in a different state as a local course to ****************, LLC. We appreciate ****************** recognizing that the in the event of an error taking place, we fix the issue and have done so to her satisfaction. In the event that there is no error, we would hope the ****************** would understand why the action she is requesting now is not appropriate. Attached to this response is a scanned image of the scorecard printed in October of 2022 including the ad space for ****************, LLC. The print date is included on the scorecard for all to see. ****************** contacted *******************, 15 year golf professional to verify the scorecards had been received. ****************** stated that **************** didn't recognize ******** as an advertiser. With all of ******************** responsibilities at his golf course, it is not surprising that he does not have every advertiser memorized. The scorecard he referenced during the conversation with ****************** was from a previous shipment and did not include the ad space for Dadswell. This can be verified simply by checking the print date on the card he referenced. We have also attached with this response a detailed *** tracking sheet that includes the address of the golf course that the 52 pound box of scorecards were delivered to. The box contains **** printed scorecards with the Dadswell advertising space included. This is the first of multiple shipments that the course will receive over the life of ********'s 12 month ad time. We have contacted the host golf course and were told that **************** is on vacation until February 16th. This is also stated in the email correspondence between **************** and ****************** that is included in her complaint. Also included in ********************** complaint is an email that we stated very clearly that would gladly reimburse the payment she is asking for if we are unable to have **************** verify the receipt of the shipment of scorecards. By most accounts this would seem to be a reasonable and rational solution. Once **************** has returned from vacation he will open the most recent shipment and will help facilitate resolving ********************** concerns. It is unfortunate that she was not willing to exercise the patience required, given these specific circumstances, before submitting this complaint. We will fully satisfy ********************** concerns. We consider this erroneous complaint closed.

      - Original transaction for a 12 month advertisement through 2023: 6/1/2022 for $395 - 2nd payment charged on my business AmEx for an unapproved additional 12 month advertisement through ****: 11/10/2022 for $395 I have messages from the business where I stated "I do not approve", but my card was charged anyways. I contacted the customer service department 12/21/2022 asking for a refund since I did not approve the 2nd charge. I was verbally harassed by **** a supervisor who yelled at me on the phone. I asked him to try and help me, and he said "You are telling me what to do, and I am telling you that we cannot refund you the amount". I have evidence that this business is unprofessional and a scam just running credit cards for their profit without approval.
