Do not use this service at all. I signed up this and I had to $100 on top of services. Hours later I received an email saying that my services is disconnected. Mind you I am a new customer and I was happy about my new iPhone that I was approved for. I was told that I didn't qualify. Consumers Celluar void a contract that they told me that I was approved. Not only that it didn't say anything about a credit check or anything of that matter. Plus they haven't refunded me my money. I wonder if I can *** them because they are the ones that didn't follow through on they end. Do not use themConsumer Cellular

We are sorry to hear of the frustrations encountered when opening an account. New Customers must qualify for our EasyPay interest free payment option. EasyPay is a payment option for customers to pay for their devices over time rather than all at once. The customer can make a down payment and stretch the remaining payments out for 24 months. There is no interest and no additional fees.
Refunds process back to the card used for the purchase. Please allow 3-7 business days from the time the refund was processed to post to your card. if the card has been closed or canceled, please reach out to the provider.

1 starI should have posted this review in January when I made a trip to ***************, ******, and requested Consumer Cellular to activate their ********************** I moved my cell phone from ******** which though very good service, it was expensive for me, So I have been with Consumer Cellular for about a year and I must say they are definitely a very bad **** Service provider. Their customer service is inefficient. Most of the reps are poorly trained. I asked for information on how their ********************* worked and got different info from all 3 reps that I contacted. When I arrived at the airport in ***************, ******, pulled out my cell phone, and NO SERVICE at all. Once I got to the hotel, I frantically tried their #*** emergency number, with no success. I was left with no phone service the entire time I was in ****** (2 weeks).Back home in the States, I called their customer service and requested to speak with a Supervisor. This was challenging as non of the reps wanted to admit they could not handle the situation. All they had promised me how their ********************* would work, was a complete lie, as it never worked!! They finally admitted that their main problem was that the reception towers were not good, even though that *************** was supposed to be one of the cities that had tower reception. One of the reps even mentioned that next time I should rent a local phone in the place I am visiting!!!Since then CC had changed to **** Reception towers, as they told me, However, after the experience I had with their ********************* in ******, I am afraid to try them again when traveling abroad.Review fromJoel S

Id give ********************** a negative********** if I could. The last few months my life with their service has been a living nightmare. It all started when they announced that they were switching from ******** cell towers to **** towers. Well all phones had to have their **** cards switched. I did that with my Apple I-12 phone because it was electronic but left my I-8 alone for now. Then the problems started happening with my I-12 phone. I even went to an Apple Store to have it checked out, it was fine. As it turns out my I-12 woukd not dial out or receive phone calls in my basement, which it did before and for many years previously. Ive been going around and around with this issue and even considered going to ******** but didnt at the last minute, which is a hole other issue. I finally figured out the hole problem last night 7-27-2023, that is the **** tower coverage in my city and my basement is a dead hole. So I went from a great service to garbage service all in the name of some money deal / bottom line thing for the corporation in my opinion. And I cant find out who owns consumer cellular right now other then the company owner name is Allusive and the main dudes last name is *****. They have made my life a living H*** for the last 3 weeks because of all this. And by the way my telephone conversations with consumer cellular where recorded by them because they tell me that up front. And I have a paper trail of order numbers for poding over my service that I canceled at the last minute. Full disclosure Im still a customer of ********************** for now.Consumer Cellular

They allowed my account to be stolen with no verification or notification to me. They required I use another phone on the account to get my service restored to my phone. Then they had me create a PIN for my security...they however do not update it appropriately or actually require you have it. It has been 6+ months. My phone is back on my account thankfully, but i was locked our of my online account for "90 days" "120 days" or "45 days depending on which representative you are speaking with. It has passed all those, they cannot restore my account access and do not have any interest in assisting me. Their cellular service is much worse than it has ever been and their customer service is nonexistent.Consumer Cellular

DISSAPOINTED AND NOW CONSIDER NOT USING. AARP and USAA recommends them, and they offer a senior plan AARP55 for two lines per month, "unlimited" in ***. So I decided to see if they were worth a try. The enrollment on the phone came to an end, and they ran into problems porting my phone from TMobile, both phones I have. So i did not go on with the transaction until I cleared the porting matter, planned to call back when porting approved by *******. Ran into problems with Tmobile [another story]. I never authorized consumer cellular to charge my card... why would i if there was not yet to be any service ie no porting? BUT the man on my call must have entered something on the computer. Anyway, the bottom line is that Consummer Cellular charged my Amex card for months, with NO authorization from me. I know contracts, and we did not yet have a contract. So, they just took from me, with their computer billing i guess, even though they and their computer knew there was no service to me. I consider this a kind of theft, and clearly dishonesty. They design their systems and policies. So I say to all of you DO NOT USE THEM!! THE THREAD AND ACTS OF TRICKERY AND DISHONESTY [TO THEIR BENEFIT] ARE THERE. A i say to AARP and USAA and the other "endorsers", to look again at reviews, and pull their endorsements. So now I start all over again, with Tmobile, till I can get new service, out of my money taken by consumer cellular. I'd like my money back, and an apology. We will see. Consumer Cellular is a rip off company, they keep hounding me for services not received. I started to sign on to their company and cancelled immediately. yet they keep hounding me for money not owed to them. I want everyone to be fully aware of this shady company. I hope to see them in COURT. The deserve a ZERO RATING!!!!!Consumer Cellular

I would leave a zero if that was an option. ************* is horrible and so is the customer service. Purchased home based phone for my 87 year old mother approximatelya month ago. The service is off every 2 to 3 days. No support available after hours on the weekend. The phone base must be manually reset each time it's not working. This is mother's only means of communication. I regret that I suggested and purchased this home based phone from Consumer Celluar. Requested a refund for unit and service. The representative said it can't be refunded because the service has been used. That makes no sense because it's been down so much, there is no way to know much time the phone is not available to be used other than not being able to reach my mother. Poor Service. Would not recommend to anyone.Consumer Cellular

Most dishonest phone company in *****************.Even after you return the phone to the seller a few days after purchase, they continue to bill and won't accept any explanation. They falsely claim they can't get into your account and if you ask them to call you back, send you a text or email, they refuse. Or worse, they claim they did so and it didn't go through which, of course, is completely untrue.One lie after another--all claimed to be supported by company policy.Caveat Emptor-let the buyer beware.Consumer Cellular

Consumer Cellular locked my number and they didn't protect me. I've been with them over 15 years. But today they let someone change my email and put their sim on my phone. While fraud is happening, there was an application for ***** Fargo Credit that came up on my credit report. TCC locked my phone and told me it would be days before I could use it again.Everyone wants to talk over the phone, but I don't have a working phone. I tried to go to ************ but CC locked my number and again I couldn't get a working phone number.CC kept wanting me to go to Target and buy a new sim, and stay with them. Beware. Still not received my credit. Purchased new phone. Tried 2 days to find out no eSim card. Spent 1/2 day going to Target, which the consumer cell rep did not show, so ended up at another target to get a sim card for the old phone. Sent the new phone not able to use back, which shows they received on 7/8/23. Called 7/10/23 told me I have to wait till it shows up. On 7/11/23 received an email received and a credit would be issued. As of 7/18/23 still not showing up on my credit card. Made several calls, no one is helpful, all everyone would say, take 5 to 7 business days. They say customer satisfaction or your money back. Nor does it say any place takes 5 to 7 days, not even the email received. Email says $===.==returned on 7/11, which my documentations shows 7/8/23. Been with them for several years, rest assure when I have an opportunity, I will research for a local cell carrier to replace Consumer Cellular. ************Consumer Cellular
