      We were targeted by Consumer Cellular as an older couple. They marketed 2 likes for $55/month with our AARP discount. They sold us "new" phones, and by the end were charging us $167/month for 2 lines with phones. From the very beginning the phones never worked, and they even claimed the phones were "not compatible" when they were the ones that sold us the phones. They claim that $167/month is for their lowest plan, and have charged us the full amount despite our phones never working. I spent countless hours on the phone with them multiple times a week. We did every type of troubleshooting imaginable, yet our phones never worked for date, and were very unreliable for calls/text. It wasn't until I called to try to cancel my plan (after 5 months of constant calls and troubleshooting) that they decided to send us physical SIM cards. They told us we were unable to cancel our service with them unless we paid over $2,000 for the phones. They explained the full amount was due for the phones, even though we have been making payments for the laat 5 months. As two elders, we are unable to pay this amount up front. So we continue to pay $167/month for unreliable, intermittent, and awful service. We are to the point where we are looking for a loan to pay off the phone so we can go elsewhere where we would at least have working phones. It has truly been a nightmare dealing with Consumer Cellular. Please be careful, they are definitely NOT user friendly for the elderly.

      After contacting consumer cellular we arranged a call back from an agent (name is available) My wife and I were approved for financing (they ran my credit which was denied but when my wife ran hers she was approved) and signed the paperwork for the contract and paid what we agreed on. later today (Saturday July 15 2023) we were called back from the billing department and told that the approval was denied for past credit issues. After speaking with the second agent with the billing department (name and Id number available) that we were subject to a secondary review and were told that the only recourse is to cancel the order. No where in the paperwork the first sales agent said to complete ( the installment agreement) while we were on the phone with her, did it say we were subject to final approval. (in the paperwork (contract) it states quote The *** also applies to this transaction, but if the *** is inconsistent with anything stated in this contract, this contract will prevail.)They have our money, we have a contract for financing that states the truth in lending and contains the above quoted details. We DO NOT consent to a refund, we want what we were promised by a sales agent. We have the phone calls recorded and since we were called back, by the sales agent, on a Saturday, when we asked for a supervisor we had to be placed in a call back queue I asked the billing agent for a turn around time and he stated that it may take up to 3 or more days for the callback. We have a legally binding agreement that they refuse to honor. WE DO NOT AGREE TO A REFUND. They have our money, after lying to us, by stating we were approved.

      While the process was not perfect, I successfully ported our two phones from another provider that begins with A. A little confusing with various PINs etc, but not too bad. I had to call CC to activate them since I was keeping my same phone numbers. I had to get a transfer PIN from the previous provider. CC customer service were helpful and efficient and it didn't take too long to get thru. However they are not there ******************************************* registering on the website that I still need to sort out, but the phones work fine so far and if the cost is greatly lowered as I expect, I will be very happy. I will know more as time goes on.

      My credit card with my name is linked to an account that is not under my name. Consumer Cellular refuses to remove my credit card from this account. Now I have to report my card stolen to the bank.

      Ok to set up but the built in option for file cleaning is horrible. It kept coming up on the main screen with the obnoxious verbiage, so I deleted the app, and everything associated with it. What a pain and a waste. Phone is good, apps associated with ****** are junk. Would not recommend Consumer Cellular any longer and we have been customers for several years.

      I wish you folks would have alerted me earlier to the critical need to replace the *** card: I was without inbound or outbound calling and texts for three days, and the first 1.5 days I wasn't even aware that I had a problem.

      Unlimited data is not causally unlimited and bills are ridiculous!! My spouse also uses cricket, four plans unlimited for $100, well he causally gets unlimited data, as we do not with CC! Every phone has to be on their own line, not shared, I also use my phone for work so need the unlimited data, my kids all have their own line and paying one easy pay makes my bill 276$ a month, but yet my husband is still paying only 100$ for four lines! This company should be sued for false claims

      Helping my sister and brother in-law. Their flip phone broke...all they wanted was a new phone. My brother in-law tried calling customer service and was unable to get any help because he did not have a pin number. I tried calling customer service hoping to help them. Your customer service would not help at all because of security reason...no email or ability to text the phone. My brother in-law and sister are in their 70's do not have a computer and A BROKEN FLIP phone. Your customer service REFUSED to transfer me to a supervisor. What kind of service is this. All we wanted was a new phone. No changes with the service or billing. They are currently paying for services that they cannot use. The only solution is to cancel the service with consumer cellular and I will add them to my cell phone account...definitely not Consumer Cellar.
