      Consumer Cellular is the worst kind of business, taking advantage of people on fixed incomes. My dad bought a phone and sent it back within the 14 days, received an email stating that he was being refunded the over $500 and then drafted out almost $530 from his checking account! Then told him it would be 1-5 business days when he would see that back into his account. Fast forward two weeks later, no reimbursement and he calls again but with me this time (he called two times prior by himself) and we are on the phone over and hour and ten minutes of them going back and forth on where this money is!! Then all of sudden, conveniently he had an old agreement that no one told him about from 3 years ago and that had to be paid out and so they did him a favor and took it from the $530 deducted from his account and made it whole!! I lost it!! *****, unprofessional and completely and conveniently never told my dad this, who by the way is on a fixed income, and said that he can keep that 3 year old phone because hes paid for it now. This company is a piece of work and was very smart on what they told my dad and then never bothered to email, call or even explain to him at any point that he was never going to see that refund that they emailed him about!! Just kept saying you should see that soon! Shady shady business!!! My dad will be okay as he has me and my brother but at this point it wasnt about the money anymore but what infuriated me was taking advantage of my dad and masking it as a good business or service! You are a poor excuse for a company and how you do business and treat people will come back to you!! I hope this helps someone to not ever do business with this company!!!

      Ive had the service a month and its been a nightmare. One bar coverage, dropped calls, inaudible calls, incoming voicemails and calls that dont register. I live in a large metro area and not the boondocks but still bad service. Ive missed important calls from this sub par company. Ive been online with their customer service constantly being told to reset this and turn phone on/off. Said they sent refreshed signals to my phone to reconnect to tower which sounds like bs. Their advertising is downright lies. As soon as I can Im going back to ATT. Never had any issues with servicr and only left them because of cost. But consumer cellular horrible service not worth it.

      Consumer Cellular started a service plan for me without ever being asked or authorized to do so. I called to inquire about the possibility of switching my service to Consumer Cellular, but indicated I was in the middle of working through some information with my current provider and would not be able to switch for several months. The person I was speaking to apparently set me up with a plan and began billing me for service. I did not even think that could be possible as he indicated he would need to send me a new CIM card for my phone and we would need to test it out. Now that they erroneously established a plan without permission, they expect they have me on the hook for the service they started. Apparently the sales person wanted a commission for a sale. I owe them nothing and will likely not have work with them in the future.

      They charged $5 for a sim card on a phone with an embedded sim card already. Customer service told my 82 year old father to drive to Target to get a new SIM card at his own expense. That is a reckless act on their customer service part. Originally was told it will take 24 hours to reset and has been more than 3 plus days. It is incompetence on their part to not have service for so many days out. Not one person at Consumer Cellular will admit they screwed up. Run away at all costs. Not worth the aggravation dealing with them,

      They sent me a cellular I was supposed to pay 18 dollars a month for the cell phone never work properly I could not use the internet out side of my house every time I called and told them they said they would fix the problem for me but never did I could make calls and text but could not use the internet for there company just my own home internet so I cancelled the service they refused to change the phone for one that work proberly I ask if I sent it back could they give me another one they said no that the reason I cancelled the service because I couldnt use the phone internet outside the home when I cancel they told me I could keep paying the 49 dollars a month toward the remaining balance of the phone but I wanted the services turned off for them to just keep taking the money from my account for the phone they said ok then after they ****** off my phone they took 49 dollars from my account and the *************************************************************************************************************************************** my account to pay my bill this is the worse company ever

      Consumer Cellular offers unlimited calling plans for $15.00 per month, plus tax.  In addition, our customers can add a data and text package.  Each package contains unlimited texting and a specified amount of data, plus tax.  

      When our customer's order our devices using our interest free EasyPay plan they pay a small down payment/plus tax and monthly payments each month until the device is paid in full.  As outlined in the EasyPay agreement, if service is canceled the full balance of the device is due.  This information can be located in the electronically singed EasyPay agreement.

      Tech support used to be good now utterly useless. Purchased their newest basic phone, the Verve Snap, which is advertised to have 8GB of memory and music player. The manual has no information on how to load/transfer music files to the phone. First call to Tech Support told me the phone does not have this capability even though this feature is advertised on their website and was a primary factor in purchasing this phone and switching my service to Consumer Cellular. Second interaction was with their Chat support and I was told they are not trained to assist with this type of request and that playing musing on your phone is not a basic function. I am left with a phone that cannot provide a simple task that phone from 20 years ago could accomplish.

      I owed them money. Someone from the company collection services took the money from my bank account without my authorization. When I called them about it, I was told that it was done through my online account. That I had mafe the payment. I would never authorize something that was going to put my account in negative. They outright lied to me. I wouldn't recommend Consumer Cellular to anyone. They will rip you off and blame you for it. When I tried to get a refund, they told me it couldn't be done. This company is not good. Don't go to this company for your cell service.

      I had my parents cancel their service so I could put them on my plan. When my mom's phone was supposed to be cancelled, it was a nightmare getting con cel to unlock it from their network. Then whatever they did stopped the speaker from working. Today they sent a bill charging ** for service after the plan was cancelled and the device was removed from their network. The reason given she didn't transfer her number to her new phone. As a consumer under FCC regs you are not required to. This means they are attempting theft. If I can't get it resolved I'll file a complaint with the **************** DA ***************************. Avoid Consumer Cellular at all cost.

      We are sorry to hear of the frustration encountered when leaving our network. Consumer Cellular phones are intended for use on our service and are locked to Consumer Cellular SIM cards. The Wireless User Agreement (***) that is included with all of our equipment states that devices from Consumer Cellular may have been programmed with a SIM lock which will prevent it from operating with other compatible wireless telephone carriers services. We are glad to hear the device is unlocked.

      Consumer Cellular bills in arrears for monthly services and usage, much like a utility company. We are not a prepaid provider; service is month to month. An account will remain active until we receive a request to cancel service or until the phone number ports out to another provider. When an account is closed, there is always a final bill for service through the cancellation date.

      I have experienced some very good customer service with ********************** (CC), however, my latest encounter has been horrendous! I am a senior citizen trying to help my senior citizen sister who is 16 years older than I am!!! I will not go into all the sordid details...just the straw that is breaking this old person's back!My sister had an IPhone which she could no longer operate. I called CC and wanted to get a flip phone. The representative suggested an Android phone. It took some convincing, but I acquiesced and got one. My sister could not operate it either. I returned the Adroid phone, in pristine condition within the 45 day timeframe for returns, I found it back at my sister's apartment today, May 24, 2023 with a "General Denial Return" under Denying Order #******** dated May 16, 2023, stating the "Device has physical damage with a cracked display." This is not true!!! It obviously is NOT cracked! I would not have sent it back cracked and it was carefully packed! I took it to a Target today and asked the tech's assessment in the electronics section where CC phones are sold. He examined it with a light after cleaning it off and said there were no cracks! He said someone else had come in with the same "issue" and their phone was not cracked either. My sister does not have access to her flip phone now (it was cut off by CC?) and she cannot use the Android phone! THIS IS NO WAY TO TREAT SENIOR CITIZENS WHO CANNOT FEND FOR THEMSELVES!!! Please help!

      The quick response received from *****, Executive Customer Experience Manager was OUTSTANDING! I am very grateful that this matter has been resolved in an efficient and compassionate matter. It lived up to the advertising and positive reputation Consumer Cellular strives to exhibit. Thanks so much, *****! I appreciate your help! I also apologize to the poor representative who tried her best to help, but was unable to do so because I was unable to find the correct security code in my exasperation. I must admit that over all the representatives have been very patient and helpful. Also, my sister's phone was not turned off! I didn't press the right button to start it. As my old Aunt ** used to say, "Woe is me". Just keep on living. Thanks again!
