I use my phone for work because I have to be able to connect with and communicate with clients. Within four months they sent me a phone that would randomly close and open apps on its own, drop calls, or make calls to random numbers by itself. When I went to replace it, it the new phone would not make calls at all. I was on a family member's phone for two hours with customer service trying to get this new phone to work. In the process the customer service representatives were rude and kept calling it an iPhone, which is was not. Throughout trying to get the phone to work they sent me a QR code to scan to activate a virtual sim card, and that kept taking me directly to Mint Mobile's website. Then the told me I need to go to a specialty store over two hours away to get a new sim or they could mail me one in **** business days. I already have lost income because of their phones not working. I cannot go ten whole days without working because of their incompetence. To top it off, I specifically requested a brand new phone because I did not want to inherit the problems of someone else, and throughout trying to get the phone to work I discovered that it had been previously owned though they had told me it was new.

Worst service bar none! The customer service reps that I had to deal with could not figure out why their service did not work on a new phone from them I was forced to get even though I had attempted to transfer my phone over with my original number. The nightmare did not end there. I had to go back to my old carrier and get a new number and a new email because both became corrupted do to this company's poor handling of this situation and offered no resolution for their error. Wow! The acted like I was stupid and it was my fault they could not fix their errors and only had service 13 days out of 30. Would not recommend this carrier to anyone. Still waiting for the refund which will take a month to get back. Can't wait for that to start another call and questions because the customer service is so great! If you like this carrier more power to you..no thanks did not deserve a rating at all.

Consumer Cellular has a partnership with Target Stores to transfer cellular service. I had the worst experience, made an appointment at 11 one day and the technician assigned to help me never showed up. Made a 12 noon appointment the next day, waited for technician until 12:30, the he took two other customer be for me, which means it was 12:40 before he even came over to me. I walked out because of the unacceptable lack of customer service. I call the HR, the did nothing, I called *********************** and they said there was nothing the could do. I will never step foot in Target again and now I know why Consumer Cellular had such a bad rating, because I called them to share my experience and they were not interested in helping either.

Tried to sign up for new service on website - at last step it said I had to call customer service so all that time wasted. **************** took a long time and I felt almost like I was talking to a scam artist trying to just get my personal information. I had tried C.C. about 5 years ago, but the reception was very bad so I cancelled. I asked if service would be better now ( I was influenced by their tv ads) - and was told oh yes - a lot has changed. Was told they use ATT towers. I asked if I could get a ******* sim chip and was told no - they put the sim card in phone before it ships and - hey no worries - I would get better service than ******** I had to prepay the entire cost of the iphone - approx. $550. I planned to keep my ******* phone just in case. So phone arrived 3 days later. All I got was 2 bars - in the house, my ******* always had at least 3 bars. I found a detailed coverage map on-line for my area for both ATT and ******* and saw ATT was much more sparce in my area. I tested some calls and was disappointed. So I cancelled service after 2 days - again had to call customer service. I was told I would get refund once they received phone and checked it. Meanwhile I got an email saying I owed C.S. around $9 - ? had no clue what for. About a week later I got an email from C.S. saying they refunded the amount I had paid. I have checked my credit card every day and there is no credit showing. It is now 5 days after they said I got a refund. I called their service number, and was transferred to an agent to help me - twice. The agent I got had her phone on speaker sitting right next to her keyboard as mostly all I could hear was tap tap tap. She needed my account number and my pin. Her solution - was - the they did a refund and I should call the bank to ask where it is. This company is horrible.

We are sorry to hear our services did not work for you.  Consumer Cellular offers our service via the AT&T network.  SIM cards sent for services direct the device to the network it will be using.  We are unable to send a SIM card outside of the network services we use.

When a refund is processed to the card on file we recommend allowing 3-7 business days from the time the refund is processed to post to the customers bank or credit card account.  This timeframe varies depending on the financial institution the customer is using.

Thank you for taking the time to provide ** with your feedback.

I spoke with a representative about getting a phone that can read my free style libre 3 on my arm for my diabetes. He said he had one. I told him what phones were compatible. I said the galaxy 10 he said that was old but his grandfather uses the same free style. So he suggested the phone that was sent to me. I told him is he sure it would work and he said yes. So I sent him the $40.68. The phone came and I spoke with a gentleman to get a new # . After I got home I uncovered the box put ****** on the phone then the app for the free libre 3. Then the phone said it was not compatible. I reset the phone and returned everything back to the box. I called and explained what happened. I ask for them to sent me a return label. Now May 22,2023 I get a email saying that they are going to return $28.68 to me. So I call to find out what happened to my $40.68 that I sent you. Why am I going to pay $12. For shipping and handling when it wasn't my fault. Please send me my 40. 68 .Thank you and then I will upgrade my review

Consumer Cellular sent my daughter a new SIM card for her Iphone XR. (She had been using the phone on Consumer Cellular's network for the last 2 years.) (She needed a new SIM card because Consumer Cellular was switching networks from T-Moblie to ATT.) After she put in this new SIM card, her phone stopped working. Consumer Cellular told my daughter that she had to call Apple or T-Moblle to unlock her phone to work with her new ATT SIM card. Apple said they could not unlock it, only ******** could. ******** said that they would not unlock the phone (this was after they told ** they would but it would take 3 days) because my daughter never had service with ********.) My daughter was without a phone for 4 days. (Between Consumer Cellular, ******** and Apple - we had spent 5 plus hours on the phone.) I called Consumer Cellular (which I had been a customer of for 15 years) and told them to replace my daughter's phone which they refused to do. They told me to give them 3 more days to try and unlock it. I refused to wait three more days.

Let's start with where we came from...My wife had **************** through ****** system. With *******'s acquisition of TracFone, we found that she was no longer getting her monthly data allotment and her carryover data was quit working. Did TracFone tell **? No. We had to figure it out for ourselves. After a week of a dozen phone calls to TracFone, five hours talking with offshore techs reading off scripts, two new TF SIM cards, and multiple assurances that our problem was fixed, the problem was NOT fixed. ** then said we needed to buy a new phone, despite my wife's phone being less than two years old, and both TF and ******* online sites saying it was compatible. We gave up on TracFone. They lost a ten-year customer. After some online research and talking with friends, my wife decided to try Consumer Cellular. It took three short phone calls, primarily because TF was not releasing my wife's number. We had to get a CC rep involved. CC did a three-way call with TF and me and got my wife's number released. My wife couldn't be happier. Comparing CC to TF... It was clear the CC service reps knew their stuff and they weren't just reading off a script. They got ** set up with minimal hassle, even though it was late on Sunday afternoon / Mothers' Day. My wife was also very happy that she could understand what the CC reps were saying because they're located in the **** Our experience with Consumer Cellular has been very good so far. Comparing it to TF, the difference is night and day.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced. For months I tried to convince my mother to get rid of the horrible Tracfone and switch to CC. She finally gave in...and the phone died after less than six months! She was so frustrated (setting it up in the first place was a nightmare)--even though I said all I had to do was go to the store and get a new phone, she refused. My 83 year old mother went to Dollar General and purchased a Tracfone. (her memory is not great and she forgot how poor the service was). But she preferred it to CC. I waited a couple of months, hoping she'd change her mind. She didn't. She finally sat with me, chatting with a "customer service" rep ********************* and we were told that even though the billing was on the 20th of the month (we called on the 19th)-we would be responsible for the previous month as well as two weeks of the current month! Six weeks of service, over $50, for a phone that hadn't worked in two months. I'm sure she had it in her discretion to credit at least a month and she couldn't be bothered. My elderly mother was fuming (I paid for her cell bill and she didn't want me to have to pay this). And I don't think I should have to either. Don't be fooled! This is NOT an elderly friendly company. Sign up with some other carrier. Deceptive and not consumer-oriented at all.
