I pulled my lexisnexis consumer report around March of 2025, on it I realized there were 3 collections with the name of credit management company. I have no unpaid debts and have received no mail or phone calls from any collection agency. I would never have known of this had I not looked at my consumer report. I have tried to call credit management company 5-10 times and Im redirected by the representatives for a ************ number to an ************ number where they ask for information and are unable to provide that i have an account with them through my. Name and address. I would like to know if there is record of an account with this business, and if so who the original debt was supposedly owed to. And I would like proof sent to me if there is no debt, so I can then forward it to lexisnexis to have the collections removed from my consumer profile.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.i received an email from a **** ****** of credit management company stating that I would be receiving a recipe in the mail from an original creditor, but Ive been told multiple time on the phone that their isnt any collections under my social security number. I believe the buisness has gotten the wrong ***** ********. I want this to be resolved and I want a clear answer to if I have any collections under my ssn or not.

as I stated in the last rejection to the complaint. I received an email, stating that credit management company had located an account under the name ***** ******** and that they would be sending things in the mail to my address. I have called ************ several times and they have confirmed there are no accounts under my birthdate or social security number. This email is a mistake on the businesses part as I have no accounts with this buisness. I filed this complaint because these collections from this company showed on my lexisnexis report under hard inquiries, but upon checking with credit management company at ************ I have to open accounts with this ********************** and I would like my lexisnexis report to reflect that. I have filed an official complaint with ********** over this. But I wanted to let credit management company know that I have no accounts with them under my information and this is a mistake on their part and I have tried taking the steps to get this removed from my lexisnexis file as it isnt mine.

From my Equifax credit report, I have a new collection account (Account Number: *0351*) from **********************, in the amount of $1,824 with a date of 1st Delinquency 01/21/2019. A prior Better Business Bureau (BBB) inquiry on February 02, 2024 (Complaint Number: ********), I was notified from the previously mentioned collection agency, CREDIT MANAGEMENT COMPANY, that the collection account was settled and would be closed/removed - which it was. However, the collection account now has returned.Business Response

I am contacting you to report and seek resolution regarding unauthorized and erroneous entries made by THE ****************************** and CREDIT MANAGEMENT COMPANY on my credit report. This situation has arisen following my personal information being compromised due to the widely reported ************ breach.Despite my repeated efforts to resolve this issue directly with the involved creditors, including requests for proof of any alleged contractual obligations, I have received no such documentation that validates their claims. This failure not only disregards the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act but also continues to impose unwarranted financial and emotional distress upon me.The inaccuracies on my credit report have not only damaged my credit score but have also caused considerable emotional stress due to the financial uncertainty and misuse of my personal information. Such negligence in handling sensitive personal data and the ensuing unscrupulous collection practices are matters of serious concern.Given these circumstances, I am urging the BBB to intervene on my behalf to rectify these inaccuracies. It is imperative that THE ****************************** and CREDIT MANAGEMENT COMPANY provide proof of debt or immediately cease their reporting of this invalid claim to the credit bureaus.I trust that the BBB will uphold its commitment to protecting consumers like myself from such unjust practices by facilitating a swift correction and ensuring that my consumer rights are not infringed upon.Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I look forward to your support in resolving this issue.Business Response

My dealings with this company are as follows I have received no written or telephonic communication from them nor have I received any emails this is probably due to the fact that I do not have a contract with them and I never conducted any first-hand business with them they are attempting to collect a medical debt and as of April 3rd a placed this medical debt on my credit report in violation of the new rules that took place on March 1st of this year. I want this removed from my credit report post-haste. No direct contract with this company nor have I ever conducted personal business with them therefore they are attempting to collect a medical debt and are in violation of the rules governing the collection of medical debt. My last complaint was bounced back due to it being boiler plate language however there is no other way to phrase it then utilizing legal language I do not have a debt with this company I do not have a contractor in this company I dispute the validity of their ability to collect this debt and the existence of said debt. I think it's pretty suspicious that this company is based in the same area as you guys and I got my complaint kicked back to me. The rule ends the ability of consumer reporting agencies to include medical debt information on credit reports. I would like this removed from my credit report as this company is no longer able to place medical debt collection attempts on consumer credit reports in order to strong arm them and damage their credit.Business Response

I am not liable for this debt as I believe it is a fraudulent debt which Credit Management Company ("CMC") cannot substantiate with any documentation because otherwise they would have provided it to me when I called. I believe that in an effort to coerce me to pay it they opened a negative credit action on me more than 6 years after the debts were alleged to have been incurred. I discovered this alleged debt for $731 to CMC via Credit Karma in late March or early April 2025. Shortly after I called them to investigate and they alleged there were two debts, one for around $200 and one for $731, allegedly one incurring in July 2018 and the other about 2 months before or after. They alleged the original creditor was Houston ********************************* or something similar. But on Credit Karma at this time it says the original creditor is CMC, which is untrue according to ***'s words on the telephone. As I was unsure of the basis of the alleged debt, I asked them for an account number and to email the bills the debt was based on and all related paperwork. Although they should have been able to provide these if they were a legitimate creditor, they said they could not, that they didn't have it, and that I would have to seek it from the original creditor. They tried to negotiate a settlement of half for about $450 and asked for my credit card information but I told them I was not about to give my payment information over the phone for a company and debt that I couldn't recognize. They even admitted to me it was a "bad debt". After I ended the phone call with them, later that day I searched for the original creditor online but could find no working phone number for them.I want the negative reporting by CMC promptly removed from my TransUnion credit score and any other credit score companies so affected, like Experian and Equifax, and my credit scores with those affected credit reporting companies promptly raised by the appropriate number of points.Business Response

Your agency has broken the law on 2 separate occasions and, in this letter, I am going to prove it. Because of your company's complete disregard of the law, I have lost my ability to use my credit and get embarrassed daily. I am too embarrassed to step foot in a bank to avoid the disgusting reaction the teller gives me when they see my credit report. I am ashamed and appalled of my credit and never received a fair opportunity to dispute this account. And for this reason, you are in serious legal trouble. Please see attached letter for further explanation why...Business Response

I am not aware of this account. I have reached out to 3 credit bureaus and COLLECTION MANAGEMENT to have this account removed from my file and they always say the same excuse, which is no longer acceptable. I have filed an *** complaint because I believed this is an outcome of identity Theft. Regardless of all actions done on my end, there was no action from 3 Bureaus. Thus, I am reaching out to seek assistance to have COLLECTION MANAGEMENTthat I have no account with them and 3 credit bureaus can simply remove it from my credit.Business Response
