1 starWORST SERVICE! DEFINATELY FALSE ADVERTISING! I have been a member of AAA for most of the last 30 plus years. This past weekend definately was the the end of a long term customer(s) due to lasct of concern and service from AAA! I purchased AAA for my daughter and added my Grandson as he is a fairly new driver with an older car. Last Saturday night, at around 10:00 PM in **********, he called his Mom and said his car broke down in the road. My daughter called AAA and requested service. She was told that someone would be there within the hour. 1/2 hour after talking to AAA, my daughter went to my grandson's location to stay with him until AAA came. Shortly after she got there, another AAA person called her and said she was sorry, but because it was a holiday weekend they would not be able to send anyone out, and she should call back after 7 AM the next morning if the problem still exists! My daughter told the agent that the car was in the road and needed to be moved. The AAA agent said she suggested that my daughter call the local police for help! So much for " we cover you nights, weekends, and even holidays"!! My daughter was able to get the car started and it limped home on one leg, and she told me what had happened. I called the 800 number and spoke to someone 2 times, once on Sun and once on Mon. I was told someone would be getting back to me, and he said he filed the complaint.I called our local office, was told the same thing and to call back in a couple of days if I did not get the call from AAA. It has been 5 days, I just called the manager at the local office again and he said unfortunately I need to wait up to 2 weeks for a response! I told him this is not acceptable, and he said unfortunately that is how it is, they are backed up with complaints! I might add, I am a senior citizen and I often stay with the grandsons while their parents are away. I have medical conditions, and had I been here alone, this would not have been good for me!Review fromCathy T

1 starAAA was a disaster. My son was in a car accident and needed a tow truck. I called AAA and they said they would dispatch one. The tow truck never came. I called back again for status and they said the tow truck decided not to accept the job and that was it. If I hadnt called back, my son would still be waiting. They said they would place another call. After three hours of waiting in a dangerous location, a truck showed up but it wasnt a tow truck. Police finally had to get involved and they called a tow. *** tried escalating my experience with AAA and that has been another joke. The person assigned to my case no longer works there so my case was dropped. I filed another complaint today and Im still waiting. Im also waiting for reimbursement for the tow truck that the police ended up calling. I have three AAA members in my family and Im canceling ALL of them. Terrible terrible experience.Review fromMe R

1 starAAA without authorization tried to renew my plan when I was not enrolled in auto-renew as that is never safe. They should not be saving CC information when it was deleted from the account. We have liked AAA for towing in the past.Review fromDebra M

1 starI have been with AAA many years and also pay for my mom and son's policies. I demanded they use them. Every time my battery was installed, I thought it was worth it. Unfortunately when I really needed them I could not conract them! Got the runaround in ********** when I couldn't turn my car off or on. I was in ******* NM with my 89 year old mother. No contact ever made with them by phone. I walked across the street to the ******** store. The gentlemans brother in law was the driver for AAA but could not reach them foe approval to have car towed. So we callec the drivers wife and she helped me out. What a blessing! I'll never sign up for them again. With two cars, I'll just go to Autozone and get me a battery and change it myself!Review fromAngela C

1 starPaid ****** dollars last year. Used the service once. 4 hour wait.Downgraded to the ****** plan. Have used the service once this year. My new teen driver was stranded from 3:45pm until 8:00 pm waiting for someone to come out. She finally relied on a STRANGER in the parking lot gor help. AAA is an absolute waste of money and a disgrace. They refuse to refund me my dues this year which is only fueling the Disgust I feel.Review fromErin F

1 starMy husband and I live in ******** near ********. We called AAA around 8:30 on Saturday 6/22/24 to request a tow to a tire station after my husband got a s**** in his front driver's side tire. We were told by the local AAA dispatcher that a tow truck would be at our house within two hours. After waiting for 2 1/2 hours, we called AAA for an update and were told that the tow truck wouldn't be at our house until 1:30pm. Still no tow in sight around that time. We called AAA at 1:45pm for another update and were told that the tow truck company they partner with is short-staffed and that there were about 15 calls to ONE tow driver, which he was addressing. We were given no time estimate and basically encouraged to just keep waiting. The tire shop closed at 5pm that day and wouldn't reopen until Monday, which would have caused my husband to miss work that day. We also had plans ruined on Saturday due to waiting most of the day for AAA. We finally gave up on AAA and decided to call a local tow truck and pay a fee. That tow company said it happens all the time with AAA. This is unacceptable service. Perhaps AAA needs to partner with more than one tow company to assist their members on busy traffic weekends. Additionally, the excuses that dispatchers made (i.e. short-staffed, 15 other calls) didn't help. We had called at 8:30am that morning and apparently, many other calls were prioritized ahead of ours and their time estimates were so wrong. Not only that, AAA should have been reaching out to us with regular updates as well as offers to make things right for us so we weren't left wondering and waiting for 8 hours! t's a good thing that my husband wasn't stranded somewhere on the side of the road in the middle of the night. No one from AAA even called to follow up with us once we cancelled the tow request hours later. This is not how AAA should be treat members. If you pride yourself on providing dependable roadside assistance for years, you MUST improve in this area!Review fromRickey M

1 starI had the worst experience with aaa. They are supposed to be there in your time of need in a car emergency. I had a blow out on the highway and needed a tow. I called aaa and they told me an hour. An hour went by and I called again. They told me another hour. I was a female by myself in a secluded parking lot. U explained thus to the dispatcher. They find me another hour. After waiting 3 hours u called and said I cant stay any longer and will leave the car with the key. They said no problem it will be picked up in 90 minutes. Well after 6 1/2 hours my cat was still not picked up according to aaa. I had an air tag in my car and noticed ** it was moving. I thought it was being stolen. I was about to call the police but decided to call aaa one last time. They says my car will be picked up before the next day. They didnt even know my car was lunched up and towed They gave no idea what they are doing there. I will never use them again. I would have used a private towing company if they were honest with me and telling me there were no immediate drivers.Review fromRyan G

1 starLooks like we all have the same complaints. My car battery was dead in the parking lot of my work. Keep in mind AFTER a 12 hour shift. Called at 11:30PM. Didn't get my car jumped until 2:30AM. Kept getting runaround when I called. The link that shows you where the driver is was useful. Didn't change the timeframe. Thankfully, I was in a parking lot. I can't imagine being on the side of the road. Absolutely miserable experience and can't wait to cancel my membership!Review fromParis P

1 starThis is the second time I tried to use the *** service within the last 3 months. Each time I called It was before 12 noon and I was stranded for 5 plus hours. Each time I call back to find out where the tow is the representatives are annoyed that I call back after every eta is not met, I have been told the following excuses: Its now a shift change There are no more flatbeds available.Due to high call volume your 45 minutes eta is now 2 hours. After waiting the 2 hours there are no tow trucks available you have to wait.Hey this is *** you waiting for a tow Im about 2 hours away after two missed etas.Im going to find out where your tow truck is I will call you back.( they never call back)Ok sir sorry for the inconvenience your tow truck driver is trying to call you (no one ever calls)My favorite is are you sure you need a flatbed. After being asked if I have All Wheel Drive and *** representative says you need a flatbed. Yesterday *** made sure to get my payment before helping me even though the card I had said it was valid until 2025. And *** representative said that *** thought I was going to pay so they gave me a card that was good to 2025.Yesterday I was offended by the *** representative and I had to pay out of pocket to a tow truck that was soliciting me but after waiting 4 plus hours and my perishable groceries not being able to survive the hot Sun I was price gouged because the time the thunderstorm came I had no choice but to pay out of pocket to the soliciting tow truck driver because *** never came. Also *** representative was encouraging me to loiter in nearby businesses to kill time. I made it clear to *** on both occasions that I needed to get to my medication. The worse part was when the *** representative asked if I had someone with me who could talk for me because I got frustrated because I kept saying sir its been hours please help I need a tow truck.
