Kings Creek employees lured ** into attending a timeshare presentation with the promise of a free 4-night vacation to ************, ********, where we were subjected to four hours of extreme pressure and coercion. My wife and I are both in our 70s, and I am a disabled veteran. Multiple times throughout the timeshare presentation we told them that we had health ailments and NO extra money to spend. They would not take no for an answer and continued to lie to us about what we were purchasing and how much it would cost us. Had our IDs not been taken from us at check in, we surely would have gotten up and left! They insisted that the timeshare would increase in value, we could sell it to earn a profit or rent it out to cover most of the costs and that this could be passed along to our children -- but failed to mention that they would be responsible for all the fees in perpetuity. They lied to us about everything, and it is costing us dearly! The interest rate was not disclosed, which has created an additional financial burden. After the loan is paid off we will have paid nearly double! This is despicable! So far, we have paid over $3,000 and have not been able to use the timeshare a single time! It is infuriating, because thanks to their unethical statements, we are stuck with a worthless product. Now, we are now being hit with increasing maintenance fees, that we were never informed about. If they contact you with a free vacation, just say no. It will end up costing you thousands.

Unmet promises and run down hotel. I was called in September of 2023 offering me a 2/2 condo in *********** to come listen to their timeshare spill. When I called to book they stated condo was only available for Wednesday check in, and I had wanted a Tuesday check in. So I opted for a hotel room. (Let me add at the presentation the salesman stated that is the first time he had heard that, that they use the hotel for marketing and do not offer the condos?) ********* was comparable to a motel, very poorly kept, and definitely no services offered by most hotels! Tub/shower drain backup, took forever to get warm water, bathroom electrical plug didn't work, strong smell of disinfectant in whole building, most likely not updated since 80s (popcorn ceiling, ***** bathroom doors). Check out instructions on door: bag and remove trash, strip bedding. Really? Needless to say, unlike any hotel I have paid for in the past, and yes I paid for it! $369 for 3 nights, in February, Im sure I could have found something a lot nicer on my own.

At this point, I realize everything that came out of their mouths was a lie. If you choose to work with these people be VERY cautious of what you are told you are getting and what you actually get. "Lets take you to breakfast" "Do you mind if we pray?" The whole time knowing you are scamming the s*** out of people. If you are actually a person of god, you know what is going to happen to you! Take the time to look at your contract and read it thoroughly because again, what the sales people and ownership rep tell you for lack of a better phrase, are complete ********. At this point I realize that we will be investing 9k on a one week vacation. My level of anger is epic.

I must add my own vignette to the long list of complaints about Spinnaker Resorts sales practices. My story involves representations made concerning their willingness to take possession of a different timeshare properly we owned in Virginia as an inducement to our purchasing at Spinnaker. Throughout the lengthy negotiations, we made it clear the interest in purchasing at Spinnaker was totally tied to the disposal of our other property. They indicated ( we have this in writing) that we were receiving a $12,000 discount, reducing the purchase price from $20,000 to $8,000. We were specifically told that the discount related to the "value" of our Virginia property. This could not have been more misleading. As part of the transaction, we were required to pay a $ **** "transfer fee" that went to a third party company that was responsible for disposing of our other timeshare. We completed the "Property Transfer Referral Form" and provided all the documentation they requested to complete the transaction. We heard nothing for several months and then were surprised to get a bill from the management company for our Virginia property indicating that our **** maintenance was due. The transfer company said we were still on the hook for these fees until the transfer occurred and they were very pessimistic that such a transfer would ever occur since we owned a fixed week property without points. Since it's now clear that our old timeshare is essentially worthless, it's apparent that the "discount" Spinnaker offered actually had nothing to do with the value of our other time share was simply used as marking ploy to induce us into thinking we had gotten a great deal. We now own two timeshares, the precise outcome we were hoping to avoid,This sad result is permitted under the agreement, signed, in hindsight without careful enough review, a result of the "Today Only" offer. As the many other reviewers have indicated, be very careful in dealing with Spinnaker .

On October 2023 my wife and I attended an ownership meeting held at Kings Creek, Spinnaker. I shared with our rep that we were not interested in buying Spinnaker because we were members of another time share and couldn’t afford both. The rep told us they could get us out of the time share, but would need to buy into Spinnaker. I have the document they created. On the back of a Spinnaker worksheet is documentation that Spinnaker is allowing $10,000 for “trade” of the other time share property. I was led to believe Spinnaker was taking ownership of the property and was buying it for $10,000. At this point our conversation centered around not having to pay next year’s maintenance fees, and putting the $2000 toward the purchase of Spinnaker. The rep stated it usually takes between 45-60 days for this process to occur. Since it was already October, I asked specifically, if this would all be done by the end of the year so I didn’t have to pay 2024 fees. The rep looked straight at me, paused, and commented and I quote “I am not sure”. This was a lie, he knew. He knew I would not be getting out of paying dues. There was never any misunderstanding in this meeting as to what we were going to accomplish. Spinnaker buying me out of the other time share, not paying the 2024 maintenance fees, and using that money as partial payment for Spinnaker purchase. The entire time share is paid off and in effect as of January 2024. I have lost count of how many times I have called over the last 3 months, Spinnaker does not return phone calls after I leave messages. In December, I get an email from the Customer Service Department stating they will not take any responsibility or ownership of any property being transferred. The email also states DO NOT Contact Spinnaker for any updates. Due to the fact that this sale/purchase was not done in good faith and totally mispresented, the only solution for a win/win situation for Spinnaker and my wife and I is a full refund of this entire purchase.

We were told about Spinnaker and we told the salesperson we needed to think about it. We very much liked Blue Water resorts but did not have the money at that time and said we would get back with the salesperson once we got home.We called him directly to his cell phone and were ready to make the deal. We take a loan out for the deposit and told him that, he told us he would get back with us. Days went by and he didn't call us, so I called him back, left a message on is cell phone. A day or two later he got back with me and told me we could not get what was offered to us. It was only for that day. We said OKAY but still wanted to go ahead with the sale. He never got back with me, and we are very disappointed.**********

On October 10, 2023 we attended a time share presentation at Spinnaker Resorts in ************, ********. We spent over four and one half hours listening to the presentation that should only have been 90 minutes. After the presentation we met with various sales representatives who pressured us in making a quick decision. They promised on many items that they could not deliver. When we returned to our hotel we noticed that paperwork was missing. We called our representative on his cell phone and we left numerous messages with either "I am with a client" or no response. We informed them both in writing and verbally that we wanted to cancel this contract with no prejudice. We were informed that we had seven days to cancel the contract without any penalties. We attempted to contact our sales representative to cancel the contract and we followed in writing and phone calls to no avail. We only received notification that they would respond in thirty days. That has since passed.

No one ever calls back. Their travel exchange Co. Destinations by Spinnaker sales people badger/ coerce/mislead/prattle on and on until you agree to things you do not want. They are condescending and patronizing. Don't buy the travel package it is Not worth it. Any savings is paid for in the massive joining cost that you are excessively persuaded to buy. Of course it is less than the market - but the market is free not $5000.plus USD. !!! Big mistake. H ******

My 1st experience bad experience was for the initial presentation, the weekend we was to go was canceled for ******************, so they said we can go to the presentation in **********. so we went there, not realizing that we were not getting the presentation for ***********, we was told not to worry we can just transfer to ***********, when we tried to do that we had to upgrade due to the fact that *********** does not have the one bedroom units, we was not told that, so after going through another presentation, this one at *********** and several hours later we was upgraded to a 2 bedroom with a lot of bonus time and free times BS that we was promised. It was all lies, lies, lies. We can't get our owner's week or bonus time from May till the end of September, what the Hell!! We have had "ownership" for 3 years now and we have only gone 2 times and it's been in April, to cold to swim. I have always had to agree to a vacation date, never the dates I wanted or needed. My daughter wanted to go and spend a little time to herself, I was told by customer service that me or her dad would have to go to being that there has to be an owner present. I explained that my daughter is in her 30's and doesn't require a chaperone, the rep laughed and said an owner has to be with the guest unless she is renting the unit from us. Yet another lie we was told, we was told our kids will have access to the unit and can come down if us as owners couldn't. To this day I still get calls from their call center asking if I was still interested in a weekend giveaway for just 99 dollars, I keep telling them to take my name off the list, but they keep calling, I tell them I am already a member.
