1 starBEWARE!! Spinnaker Resorts is a HUGE scam. My *********** attended a 4-hr timeshare presentation in ******* last year. We were excited about the presentation and even got a babysitter for our two daughters so we could be fully engaged in the presentation. After all, who doesn't like to vacation?? But after sitting through the presentation, we realized that a timeshare wasn't for us. We didn't want to be limited in the places we traveled to or told when our "window" of travel was. We declined the timeshare and began to be immediately berated by the sales rep. ** pulled every trick in the book to try to make my *********** feel guilty for not purchasing. "You're really going to say no to making memories with your girls? How do you think they'll look back on their childhood when their parents didn't take them on vacation?" etc. It was horrible. Finally, we were gifted a complimentary two-night stay, tickets to either ****************** or ***********, and a $100 ****** gift cardbut not immediately. It was a travel voucher to vacation later. Unbeknownst to us, this was through a third-party and NOT Spinnaker. When our travel dates finally came up and we had NO travel information given to us even after I put down a refundable deposit of $180 (which you were supposed to get back once you traveled), I called Spinnaker. Their response was, "I'm sorry. That is not handled by us." Excuse me?!? I sat through a 4-hr presentation, hired a babysitter, was maligned and berated, and now you're telling me that my "gift" is not even from you or valid?? Spinnaker is a bunch of con artists. Don't do business with them, don't talk to them. They will lie through their teeth to make you feel like the scum of the earth. But it's really them that's the scum.Review fromKathryn T

5 starsWe stayed at a nice place as part of a time share presentation. We had a wonderful time. The presentation was not bad at all and they do have some great deals if you just pay attention and read everything. We had a great lady that made our presentation a breeze. Would definitely do it again. We decided to become members and they have bent over backwards to help us and answer all of our questions..I see so many bad reviews I think some people should start adding their good ones. We really appreciated the time they spent explaining everything and have done but go out of their way to make us feel welcome. Thanks Spinnaker!Review fromRonnie H

1 starI want to file a complaint against Spinnaker Resorts; a salesman approached us from Spinnaker and pressured us into signing a timeshare contract. The salesman was extremely pushy and made us feel awful and guilty if we didnt agree to sign for the timeshare, which was disgusting behavior. During the sales pitch, they claimed that purchasing a timeshare would be a great investment for our family and that it would be an ideal vacation option for years to come. However, they failed to inform us that we would not be able to get rid of the timeshare once we no longer wanted it. We were under the impression that we could sell it back to the company, but they informed us that they would not give us anything for it.Also, they offered us the option to spend more money and have someone try to sell it for us, but there was no guarantee that it would sell. The company doesnt care if its a financial burden for us; we still have to pay, and there is no help from them with a way out. The entire experience has been a complete nightmare, and we are extremely unhappy with the timeshare we were pressured into purchasing. We are now trying to find a way to get rid of it, but Spinnaker is not willing to help us in any way.I want the Better Business Bureau to investigate Spinnaker Resorts and its sales tactics and ensure they are held accountable for their actions. I want to be rid of this timeshare once and for all, and I hope the Better Business Bureau can help us resolve this issue.Review fromBarbara and B

4 starsI have tried to express that i would like out of my ownership, and they requested that i pay them ***** dollars to do so. I tried to explain to them that i don't have that kind of money sitting around. I have already paid them thousands of dollars. I was willing to pay them **** dollars, but they said no. I was willing to pay what i could but they were unwilling to cooperate thus far. It is very frustrating. Then we received a letter about sending us to collections. We were willing to work with them to resolve this. It seems all they is money, I have paid them more than enough. It is unfair the way they are treating us. They are trying to squeeze out every dollar they can. Please, we need help!Review fromDalma G

1 starI try to find the positive in everything, but this place has no positives. On our first stay after becoming (owners), we had an issue with one of the security officers. We were told that it shouldn't be an issue for us to plug up our EV in front of the unit. I was fast asleep when my wife woke me up. She was very upset because our juvenile son caught the security guard looking into his window. The guard was mad at us for plugging up our EV even though the agent who signed us up said it shouldn't be an issue. 2 days later I called and left a message with another agent for someone to call me back about the issue and that I wanted to cancel our relationship with King's ****** Of course they didn't call back until after the time that we could walk away. I called and emailed multiple people at King's ***** and ultimately got a letter in the mail basically saying that as far as they're concerned, there's no issue. We were willing to pay the cancellation fees and everything. I have nothing positive to say about this company and warn everyone I know to stay away. Time shares have a horrible reputation for a reason.Review fromMichael J

1 starDear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to submit a complaint against the upgrade program offered by Spinnaker. This upgrade has turned out to be a complete money pit, leaving me feeling defrauded and powerless.Despite making continuous payments on this upgrade, my family and I have not been able to use any of the promised benefits. We were told by *********************, that the upgraded program would give us access to exclusive discounts, priority bookings, and a range of other perks. However, none of these promises have been fulfilled, and we have been left with a completely useless investment in the upgrade program.I have reached out to several employees of Spinnaker, including ************************* Vacation Counselor, Manager *******************, and Mr. ***************** ***************** Officer, but have received nothing but lies and deceitful responses. They have not taken any concrete steps to resolve my concerns or provide a satisfactory solution. This situation has caused undue stress and financial strain on my family, and I feel taken advantage of by [Company Name]'s upgrade program. I would appreciate it if the appropriate actions could be taken to either refund or provide the promised benefits of the upgrade program.Thank you for your attention to this matter.Sincerely,******* and *****************************Review fromJody S

1 starI used to work for this "company" when it was called "************************." The most dishonest, deceiving, grossly negligent place I have ever been involved with. They coach us how to be deceiving, they groom us to lie. We actually got incentives to LIE! Each time we got a sale, we actually CLAPPED! What kind of company does that?? If you were having a problem "closing" a potential client, a "TO" (take over) person would get on the line bc they were THE BEST at making the whole thing look legit. It was disgusting!! The managers, ****** and ****, KNEW what was happening and had no problem whatsoever taking people's hard earned money. They received commission from every single sell. And the owner, ********************, flourished. Please be warned, this "company" just wants your money. Nothing else. Let's put them down like the dogs they are!Review fromJudy M

2 starsFirst of all, I would like to say, we did have a great time at Royal Floridian South in ************. **** at the front desk, accommodated ** to be able to stay in the same kind of room the second week we were there. ******* at the concierge desk offered us a program to spend a few days at another resort within Spinniker. That is where our nightmare started. We were able to get the initial five nights, six day package, but were told we could add additional nights. After about 25 calls and emails, including four to the corporate office, no one returned our calls or emails. You may have decent resorts, but your customer service within your organization is atrocious. We actually did get an extra few days, but it was through RCI and it cost us less than it wouldve through the deal Spinniker originally offered. Your loss because no one returned our phone calls. Good luck selling your program.Review fromChristy C

I was contacted by this business asking for my attendance to a tour of their new property in exchange for a four night, 3-day stay at hotels listed on their voucher. Upon attendance, I was turned away for not having a credit card, which I was not told that I would need to have. I drove over an hour and inconvenienced four people to be there. When I complained, the person, ******, who originally contacted me told me that that was not supposed to happen, and that I would be compensated for taking the time to do my part. However, I was never emailed the voucher I was promised. When trying to contact him about it, all I get in response are reassurances that it will happen the next day, the next day, the next day, and it never does. Attempts to contact them via phone are also impossible, because it sends you through an algorithm of automated responses. No one at the help desk was helpful. They wasted 2 hours worth of gas, interrupted four people's weekend, and lied to me multiple times for nothing. I am incredibly furious at the amount of time and effort that was wasted on this company via this event. I want my compensation. I did my part, I showed up, and paid in the form of gas and time when both are scarce and valuable. It is not my fault if their employee is only 3 days into training, and their supervisor is so untrained on their own policies that she agreed with the newbie.Spinnaker Resorts
