      I have a paycard "******" they are a member of metabank. I filed a dispute with them for two fraudulant charges on 12/2/2022. They gave me one of the charges the lowest one for **** back but it's been well over 2 months and they still owe me the second charge for ***** these charges were made by the same online merchant. I didn't make the charges... I would like my money back. Now tonight I pais for something at ******** and was triple charged for it and they told me I could dispute it but I'd have to wait 90 days for them to investigate!!? I'm now owed ****** or around that and they refuse to give it back. I work way too hard formy money for a company top not give ,my money back to me.

      I still haven't been credited for the ***** that I was charged three times in a row for one purchase. That happened just a few weeks ago. I also never recieved any credits on any other cards of mine from you until after I filed this report with BBB. I did see one credit after I filed this complaint for ***** I appreciate at least getting that back. I've called numerous times since 12/2/2022 and have been told it was still being investigated. I think you are trying to cover for yourself about why it took me having to take this as far as complaining with the BBB. However, I thank you for the tiny bit I recieved back and hope to also get refunded the rest of the money. Thank you.

      I have received a phone call stating that I am being sued by **** **** for a credit card that I never even had. When I asked who it was supposed to be issued through, I was told that I could not be provided that information. I was told that the card was issued in 2005 and that there was an unpaid balance of $***** dollars and that they would close it out right away if I was willing to pay that amount in full. I have never even had a credit card before 2019 and when I stated that, I was told that they've heard all the excuses before and the judge won't care if you remember having one or not. I also asked if I actually had a card in my name, why hadn't they contacted me before this? I was given the response of "There is no way to prove if there was any previous communication". I feel that this is a scam and that **** **** should be responsible for dealing with it.

      ********* **** sponsors prepaid debit card companies, tax companies, and some loan companies. While we work with partners to fund loans, ********* **** does not actively collect on old loans as you described or provide Customer Service directly for those loans. If there was ever an old loan that involved ********, it would have been sold off years ago. You would have to work with that collection agency if they purchased such a loan or debt. You should always do due diligence before working with any collection agency. First require them to mail you USPS (not email) validation of the debt. If they can't provide statements and other details of the loan, you should be very suspect of their right to collect the debt. You should check with the three credit bureaus as well to see if there is any debt there being reported. If ******** is in the tradeline, dispute that report at the credit bureau and request removal of the tradeline. Remember, old debts are sold and resold all the time. ********* **** is no longer directly affiliated with any older debts we have previously sold off and are not the company actively collecting those debts. You do have rights under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA) against abusive, deceptive and unfair debt collection practices used by collection agencies.



      The above is our standard response for inquiries such as this. For your specific situation, the threat of a judge and the fact that they're saying it dates back to 2005 makes this suspect. It also increases the likelihood that somebody may try this in the future since they have your information. Always check your credit report, dispute it through your credit report if you don't recognize it, and make them provide documentation validating the debt before paying anything.

      I received this gift card as a Christmas gift with $*** on it. I was able to use it once a few weeks ago, but haven't been able to use the remaining $** dollars on it since then. It keeps getting rejected. When I try to log in to check the balance or anything else, I get the attached error code. I had been on the phone waiting for over 30 minutes. Finally I spoke to someone and they said they "activated" it, but couldn't help with letting me know when the system will be up and running to check on my transactions and balance.

      I filed my 2020 taxes at *** ***** and received an ******* Prepaid ********** issued by ******** (now Pathward). On July 20, 2022, the IRS released my $******** refund but I no longer had access to my ******* Card. My lawyer submitted a Power of Attorney to ******** on September 7, 2022 to check the balance. ******** received the Power of Attorney but refused to tell my attorney anything about my account. My attorney requested to escalate the issue with customer service; ******** refused. My attorney requested to talk with the legal department; ******** refused. My attorney asked for an alternate number or mailing address; ******** refused. After exhausting all other options, we called ******** together to report the card missing on October 12, 2022. The customer service agent confirmed a balance of $********. I told the agent to update my mailing address to my attorney's office and asked to have a replacement card sent to the new address. The agent said that she entered the new address. My attorney asked her to repeat the address to confirm accuracy. The agent said that because she already submitted an update, she could no longer access my account, but she "guarantee(s)" the address was changed and the card would be delivered to the new address by October 26, 2022. This is not what happened. ******** carelessly sent the ******* Card to the wrong address. As a direct result, someone used my money without my knowledge or authorization. When the card had not arrived by October 26, my attorney and I called ********. The customer service agent revealed that ******** mistakenly sent the card to a different address than the one provided on October 12. The erroneous recipient made unauthorized transactions totaling $********. On October 27, 2022, my attorney submitted a fraud claim on my behalf. The claim was denied on November 2, 2022. ********** failure to send the card to the correct address was not mentioned anywhere in the denial letter or otherwise acknowledged.

      There are a series of cash app charges on my account paid out to an outfit identified as pathward. There is no account number or other information to help identify the people. I have never heard of them and there are five charges totaling several hundreds of dollars. We recommend you contact **** *** and dispute the transactions with them as well as get the routing number and account number used to transfer the funds to.       **** **** transfered their name to Pathward. I was locked out of my account, they couldn't get in either.
      I was in delinquent trying to make a payment to become current, but wasn't allowed to. One week later,
      I was trying to make a payment, now it's charged off. I've been talking to several representatives and nothing is the same.

      I have a payment card that I received for a medical study that I was in and only use it when I withdraw money. I tried to withdraw some funds at christmas and was told that I only had $* in my account. I called the number on the back of the card and was advised to sign in at ************** which I did I then was told that I would have to file a dispute, which I did. They send me a letter telling me that a company named ******* ****** had charged my card for a total of ******. I then filed a dispute as they requested and later got a denial and said they will not refund my money. I called them to find out what these charges were for and they said they could not discuss it over the phone and that I would have to write to them and request the info.
      * ** * ****** ******* *** I feel that someone is trying to scam me. They card company is making this a laborious process hoping I will just forget it. Please Help

      I acknowledge the sixty day reporting requirement, but because fraud is not detected in that time frame, I can't believe anyone would not want to know who committed fraud. Especially ** ****** ******** who might not check on a payment card every month. The fact that you don't want to know what happened and who committed the fraud would make me suspicious. This is unsatisfactory. There were also charges in the amount of ***** per month from the same company that were unauthorized.

      In mid December I purchased 1 of ********** *** dollar prepaid **** cards (*** **** ****** ** ****************). This card proved to be a bum card that got rejected every time I tried to use it. I called ******** customer service about this on December 20, after getting notified but runaround *** ****** *** ***** ******* ******** ****** **** ** I eventually told them to just refund my money. I was given the confirmation number ******** and told the refund would take 7 to 10 business days. I was obviously lied to by this **** company because today, 22 days later, there has been no sign of a refund check. I demand that ******** IMMEDIATELY refunds the money they're trying to steal from me before I press charges against this **** company for fraud!

      Immediately after filing the original complaint I called the company again. After spending 2 hours on hold while they hoped I would give up and hang up I was finally connected to someone. After saying the words missing refund and reading off the confirmation number I was IMMEDIATELY hung up on! So I won't believe that this **** company is sending me a refund until I have a check AND it clears the bank. My attorney has been advised of this and instructed to file the lawsuit for fraud in 7 days unless I receive the refund check AND it clears the bank before then.
