      I was signed up for Spruce when I thought that I was processing my tax refund with *** ****k. I never received a card, though they said they sent one, and now I'm getting tons of emails from Spruce. This was unclear and I never menant to sign up. They are now asking for my ss# and personal info to close an account I never meant to open. I do not want my name associated with an account I do not have access to and never meant to open. Concerned about Spruce & *** ****k.

      Hello BBB,

      Earlier this year, I received a Prepaid card through an email. I activated it on 07 January 2025 and just wanted to know the balance on this pre-paid card I misplaced the security/validation code. I have attempted to call them ************9 phone number to find out the balance on this PP card and the message keeps prompting me for a security validation code so I cannot get in touch with a live customer service rep..

      I also attempted to go through the web site and to no avail I was unable to accomplish this task.

      I then research and found the address of this business and mailed a letter to them-on 10 February 2025 and as of this day I haven't received a response.

      On 2/22/2025 at 3:13 I bought a S******ll prepaid debit card and added $25 dollars to the card at the time of purchase.. When I was finally able to activate my card 3 hours later my account said I had $0.00 I called customer service and was sent in a never ending loop and i could not speak with anyone. I would like my money back. Not only was it damn near impossible to register and to activate there was no money on my card. Account said there had been no transactions in or out. I am uploading my receipt for this card ending in 4***

      question; however, our records show that you inadvertently opened two new accounts that were not
      associated with the card in question. The card you purchased has an available balance of $25.00 and can
      be used to purchase goods and services in-store and online. Additionally, the card can be registered
      online by following the steps listed on the back of the card packaging or by visiting

      spendwell account.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      First off,  I bought only one card so how could I " inadvertently "  open two new accounts neither being the card in question. 

      Second reason being the number on the card packaging matched the card number on the receipt that has already been uploaded in this complaint.

      I would like a refund of $25

      I purchased a serve reloadable card, loading the amount of $350. The card must be registered. I followed the steps to register including my ss#. I was denied a account. I tried again and again denied after supplying my personal information. I called ************- the amount is on the card. Spoke to a c/s who informed me it must be registered. To which I told him I tried twice. He told me I must have not entered my information correctly and wanted to do the process of registering over the phone. I want my money back as I am unable to use the card.

      I got a response resolution with you all once before and a chick was sent out to me but I have took that thing everywhere and I cannot get it cashed I need you all to get a hold of this company again and figure out a way to either electronically transfer it to me or figure out another way to get it to me because the check obviously isn't going to work

      My account has been locked for weeks. At first i was able to do small transactions then account was locked again. I verified my ID and all transactions. I am being given a runaround about my money. They cant tell my why i dont have access to my money besides a system error. There is no real way to contact their fraud department they have no number. Only email and i have been unable to get a response from anyone in the past week. A ticket was put in Monday 2/17/25 and i was told it would be handled by 10:30 am on 2/18/25. It is now 2/22/25 and still no update on my money and every time i call i am not given any real help. They shouldn’t have a fraud department that isn't reachable at all times besides by emails. I have rent and bills due and have not been able to do so because the hold on my money i need this situation handle as soon as possible.

      Received a gift card for participating in a survey. Expiration date 08/2031. Received instructions to activate the card which I received in 09/2024. Never activated. Called tonight to activate and balance inquiry. Originally $25, however now.25, never used. Was told $4.95 charge per month for inactivity. Company stated they actually activated card prior to mailing. I think this is fraudulent and misleading. After talking with agent did see fine print on card, which I couldn’t read. Agent refused to reload my card

The terms are located on the back of the card and on the website, which is also on the back of the card. Using the card at any point for any transaction(s) would have prevented the inactivity fee from being charged. For these reasons, we are unable to waive the inactivity fees on your card.
