Went to Firestone ********* in ***********, ** to investigate the cause of the check engine light coming on. Shop replaced all spark plugs in the car on 2/28/2025. Check engine light came back on 5/23/2025. Car was taken to **** Dealership for oil chance and to investigate the check engine light on 5/30/2025. The dealership noted that all the valve covers were loose and damaged (brass inserts in 3 different cylinders were stripped) from where Firestone replaced the spark plugs in February. The dealership also noted that Firestone broke the air intake box while replacing the spark plugs. The dealership stated that the spark plugs were also wrong for the type of motor on my vehicle.Initial Complaint

Review left on ****** for experience on 5/24/25 My husband was in need of brakes on his truck and with his work schedule, hes only able to on Sundays. So we made an appointment to go have his brakes replaced. When we went in the gentleman at the front acted like he would have rather been anywhere but there. He then said that we were required to have the rotors replaced as well because they wont touch the truck unless new rotors were put on, mind you the rotors on the truck were practically brand new. We said we just wanted the brakes not the rotors and he said they absolutely couldnt. We were in a rock and a hard place so we just said go ahead. However on the website it said they resurfaced rotors but they were claiming they dont in person. Then we were called saying a new right front caliper was needed because they couldnt get it unstuck so there was another $500. Now we are $1600 in the hole and upon looking at the truck at pickup, they didnt even clean the manufacturer oil off of the brakes. Ever heard of brake cleaner? I submitted my survey and the manager ******* reached out and that got absolutely nowhere. He kept saying how we have the right to refuse rotors and it would just be noted but when we told him the guy at the front said they wouldnt touch it without them he then says oh well hes new then take him away from customer interaction until he is fully and properly trained. Now we just feel scammed out of $1600 for crappy service and unnecessary work done. They surely do know how to take advantage of customers. I understand things have gone up in todays economy but this just feels absolutely absurd and like highway robbery. We will not be back and will not be referring anyone to this establishment or any of the other Firestone locations.Initial Complaint

I brought a perfectly good running vehicle into Firestone for regular maintenance (spark plugs and ignition coil) after having them inspect the vehicle and THEY NEVER MENTIONED ANY ISSUE WITH ABS OR TRANSMISSION - I NEVER HAD AN ISSUE with the Abs or transmission. The car was in great condition. They changed the ignition coil and spark plugs and told me it was good to go. I got traffic 2 lights away from their shop and the car made a very loud grinding noise suddenly and would no longer drive. I called the Firestone to tell them what was happening- they told me to PAY for towing and bring it back. After further discussions, they payed for the tow but refuse to fix the issue and give me back my vehicle in the condition I gave it to them. This has affected my income and I no longer know how Ill be able to provide for my family without a car. The store manager was yelling over the phone even though I was calm, polite and respectful. He refused to give me the district managers number and said hes an attorney- which came off in a threatening manner. They have failed to communicate when it may even be something very simple like the ignition coil they put in is faulty. Theyre wanting to tow my car elsewhere and have me pay for a new transmission. This car is well maintained, has never broken down and had absolutely no transmission issues before I brought it there- if it had one previously- it would have come up on their diagnostic exam before they serviced it- which it did not. Here is an excerpt from another mechanics on the issue and what he has to say about this type of issue: *** ****-Owner/ Small Business at ******* Transmission Yes an ignition coil misfire can be mistaken for a transmission problem. As a transmission specialist for 25 years I have experienced this many times. I have always been amazed that even trained technicians will misdiagnose these problems.Imagine replacing a $3000 dollar transmission over a $75.00 coil! Horrific!Initial Complaint

I had two tires replaced. The appointment was supposed to be an hour but it took over 2.5 hours. When the work was complete, I noticed a ***** hubcap was missing on one tire. I assumed it was in the car as that has happened before. When I got home, I was unable to locate the hubcap and the store was closed. I spoke with an individual who said they were the store manager. He first said it must have fallen off on the way home. After I mentioned I noticed it at the store but assumed it was in the car but it wasn't, the manager then said I have to order a new one and come back to the store and request a refund. I advised that the actual ******* hubcaps were expensive. He then said he would order one that was $16 (aftermarket). I gave in and said yes. Its been over a week and no one will provide me a hubcap. Store complaint number is *******,Initial Complaint

On April 5, 2025 the van was towed to the Firestone location listed above. I spoke with the associate to notify them that the van died and I was not sure what the issue was. I requested a full diagnostic to determine the issue. They noted several issues amounting to $6,120.51. 2 weeks later they said it was ready. I went to pick it up and it died within 10 minutes of leaving the facility. I called and they provided a tow and rental car to get me back home to *****, **. 2 weeks later they said they identified the problem so I returned on 5/26/25 to pick up the van. I noticed when picking up the van that it had been left unlocked on the property. When I picked up the van the oil reading showed zero. I took it to ********** for a free top off where they said it could be a sensor or bigger issue. When leaving ********** the vehicle died. This was still before I left town. When getting towed back to Firestone the tow company notified me the van had been towed to Complete Transmission (CT) in Olathe without my knowledge. I asked Firestone about this and they said it was after install that location only did a calibration test. I called CT and they said there is no such thing as a calibration for this service. For whatever reason, Firestone is lying about who did the work. They also failed to notify me the van was taken to another location. While speaking with CT they also notified me that they had noticed an engine issue and recommended Firestone run a diagnostic for the engine which they seemingly did not do nor did they disclose this to me. Additionally, staff has been rude multiple times. I have paid for services unnecessarily, that fail to address the issue. I was quoted by another company for $1,800 for transmission replacement rather than $3,500 I paid to Firestone. This is the difference in price I'm requesting a refund for. Regardless of refund this business is not providing adequate or professional service. Issue is on-going as of 5/27/25; vehicle at Firestone.Initial Complaint

**************** was terrible. Entire store coffee area and bathroom was disgusting. I was never told the price of this oil change beforehand or I would have never gotten it. The charge almost double what other places charge for a synergies oil change. Would like a partial refund for terrible customer service.Initial Complaint

I used Tires plus services for oil change and brake pad/rotors change until I started to discover some discrepancies. I started changing my oil last year and I noticed that after tires plus had changed mine, they were using impact guns on my oil drain plug, as it was obviously over ****************************************************************************************************** 2021 I used tires plus to replace my front brakes and rotors, however, also decided to do them myself yesterday. To my surprise, I found the 19mm bolts securing my calipers to my suspension knuckle had been also impacted and thus crossed threaded. One of those bolts snapped inside of the knuckle. I know that Tires Plus was responsible because they were the only ones that had touched my brakes and tires. This whole ordeal forced me to go buy a new suspension knuckle and bolts to replace my damaged ones. This is very disappointing as I had trusted tires plus with my vehicle.Initial Complaint

A long story short. I took my vehicle into Firestone in *************, **. on 04/17/25. The corporate office is located in *********, **. The *** light was on and the vehicle was running different. They kept the vehicle a week. When I picked the vehicle up the *** light was on and the vehicle was running the same. Firestone charged me for four spark plugs, four ignition coils, and other parts. Thats what they say the vehicle needed. I took the vehicle to another well known shop, who confirmed no new ignition coils were in the vehicle and only three spark plugs were replaced. Im requesting a refund, due to them not fixing my vehicle and being charged for parts I did not receive. Im very disappointed in Firestone and this deceptive behavior.
