In June 2023, I subscribed to Daily Wire for one year. At the end of June 2024, I noticed I had a charge of $149 earlier in the month and I dont remember renewing or receiving any emails about itno reminder, no receipt email. I contacted the company asking for them to prorate the charge and refund the extra since I would not like to continue service and did not receive a reminder email. The representative on chat said they sent a reminder email a month prior which I believe is completely false. They could not provide a email tracking number to prove it. I did a search of my emails and only have two from them in all of my email history. One from June ********************************************************* July 2024 when I attempted to cancel the account. Typically I cancel subscription services right after I subscribe to make sure Im not automatically charged again. I may or may not have done that as I cant remember, but I know for a fact that the reminder email was not received. I check my emails multiple times daily. It appears that many others have had the same issue. Legal action should be taken against this company for not holding up their agreement. The company has refused to offer even a partial refund.Business Response

We understand that this member is frustrated and claims a renewal reminder was never sent; however, we have a record of the renewal reminder that was delivered on May 10, 2024 entitled "Updated Pricing and Renewal of Your Dailywire+ Membership" (see attached) Furthermore, this member agreed to be automatically renewed at the initial sign up by selecting a checkbox saying they agreed to the terms. members simply can not sign up without taking this step. This member's account has been canceled and will expire at the end of the term and they will not have any further charges. I am rejecting this response because it does not prove that the reminder email was sent. This photo easily could have been created to look like a sent email or edited to show my email address. I would like to see the evidence from the email service provider logs. I don't believe it's a coincidence that countless other customers have had the same issue as I am having.

We can assure the member that our reminder emails are automated and sent to all our annual members 30 days in advance in order to give each member the opportunity to make changes to their account. We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause. This member has access to their account until the end of their term when the account has been set to cancel. I signed up 2 years ago for a trial membership, in which I checked boxes like everyone else and forgot. 1 year ago it was set to auto renew and charged me 108$. Because we were not expecting that in our budget, I was caught off guard but it was my fault. I immediately went on the website and canceled my auto renew after my husband questioned the charges to our account. He was right there with me, we cancelled. Today, a charge for annual subscription 149$ was charged. We both remember sitting together and doing it immediately after it was charged last year and now we are out the renewal fee for a subscription we dont even use. We have 5 kids and going through medical treatments. We cannot afford this extra charge, especially when we KNOW it was canceled last year. I am methodical about our budget, because it's so tight and subscriptions and I didn't think this one was to worry. I reached out to customer support and haven't received a reply.Customer Answer

I signed up with Daily Wire a long time ago on 2018 for $99 charged annually for their services. This remained constant. Last year I paid $107.17 which is $99 plus taxes. I was content with this but reviewing my Credit Card Statement it appeared that they hiked my subscription to $161.29 which is over 50%. By the time I realized this transaction happened I reached out confident that they would refund my money and cancel my subscription which I use very little. Instead they told me they would not refund me the money and that I was locked into the subscription until May 2025, which I do not want, and which is too expensive for what I use. Please help. As many on this page and elsewhere online, my complaint is regarding Daily Wires shady renewal process. I did not receive a reminder email as they claim, similar to others on here. In fact, my sister is also a subscriber and she looked through her emails and also hasnt ever received a reminder email over the last couple years. I contacted Daily Wire 3 days after it renewed to request a refund. Most companies have a refund period because that is the right and reasonable thing to do. I was told a refund could not be issued but noticed that others have received a refund if they contacted so quickly? It all is shady and disappointing to observe from a company with the supposed values they tout. Not only did I not receive this reminder email but the charge for this renewal was more than last years, why?Business Response

Got a trial to watch one show on their platform a year ago. Was charged for entire year which I paid. I canceled it and removed the app from my phone and just noticed a new full one year charge on my card. Went online to do it all again. You can only go through bots and get sorry, you have to pay this. Did I answer your question? replies. Its next to impossible to find cancel buttons and basically at the end it says sorry to see you go, enjoy next year $300+ dollars for mug and one show. Id like a refund.Business Response

I ordered a subscription over 2 years ago and I made sure to cancel last year by email. I know it was definitely canceled because I no longer had access when I tried to login so long ago. Well on a review of my credit card statement, I noticed a subscription charge from the Daily wire. I actually do like their content, I am just done with subscriptions. My issue is that it was only 1 business day later when I emailed them to cancel the subscription that I know I already canceled. I had never logged in, they know I have never logged in for over a year. I received a response that they have no refunds and I have the subscription until next year. I sent a follow up email to request a refund because I no longer want the subscription for a year and they declined. I never received a renewal email like they stated in their records. I did check my junk mail. I know I canceled over a year ago, I did not have access to the account.Business Response

I signed up for only the monthly amount of $15 and when I checked my account, they charged me $150 for the full year. They are now saying all subscriptions are final and a refund will not be issued. Again, I did NOT select that subscription, which makes this charge absolute fraud from their end! It is not considered a refund when I didnt even make that purchase- they just directly took 10x the amount that I approved out of my account without warning or explanation and are refusing to give it back! I signed up with DailyWire months ago for a lecture series I wanted to listen to. All my Subscriptions are managed through ****** Subscriptions so when I went to cancel my subscription, I could not find it. I attempted multiple times to cancel on the website, but number 1. The cancel button is very hidden in the membership tab and number 2. When you attempt to cancel, it blocks your screen with discounts if you extend your membership and trying to block you at every turn with not canceling. I had a struggle to get the cancelation to go through and finally today reached out and insisted they cancel my account and refund me the last 3 months of membership as I have not used the account once. In reality, I've been paying and not using it for about 9 months but I was trying to be generous. The folks were rude and dismissive and refused a refund. When I suggested I'd file a claim with the BBB, they said they would end the chat because of my legal suggestions and no longer would even provide customer service to me. I'd like a refund and to never deal with them again.Business Response

We are sorry that this member is frustrated about the cancellation process. All our memberships are considered a final sale after purchase and renewal. This member agreed to be automatically renewed at the initial sign-up by selecting a checkbox saying they agreed to the terms. Most streaming services follow this same process. This member did not reach out until after the account renewal and therefore is not eligible for a refund as all cancellations must be made prior to the renewal. This member's account is now cancelled and will expire at the end of the term during which time they will have full access to their membership. They will not have any future charges. We are sincerely sorry for any trouble this may have caused.
