My buildings parking was recently acquired by Metropolis parking. As part of this transition, I was required to create a monthly subscription with Metropolis.Even though I have done so, I am being charged a daily rate for being in the exact same garage. In total, I have been charged an extra ****** dollars. I would like for my charges to be corrected, so that I only pay the monthly fee, as I was explicitly promised.Metropolis parking has made considerable effort in making it difficult to fulfill this request. There are no contact options to speak to a representative for issues regarding parking, only an automated system with pre determined solutions, none of which solve my particular issue.Business Response

I attempted to park in a lot controlled by this company on July 13. I scanned the ** on signs in the lot, and entered by phone number, but the app was pre-filled with information for a car I don't own and a credit card I didn't recognize. Afraid that the app was hacked or a scam, I left immediately and parked elsewhere. I was not in the lot for more than a few minutes, all of which were spent trying to make the app work. Now, however, the company is attempting to charge me money I dispute I *** and refuses to correct the error. I have sent numerous emails and I get the response that I'm still responsible for "unused time" - but it's not unused time. I didn't park at all. All I did was enter my phone number - which should not be justification to demand payment. I need assitance getting the company to acknowledge that I do not owe for parking.Business Response

Date of transaction: 6/26/24 Dispute: Transaction was completed according to webpage. On 7/12/24 I recieved a Violation Notice with a violation fine of $70.25 for "not paying the amount due." My information, including my card information and license, was submitted to their website when I parked on 6/26/24 at or around 9:40am. It has been on the website associated with my phone number since 6/26/24. Additionally, the website purposefully makes settling disputes difficult. There is no way to call customer service to speak to a representative. There was no number provided on the notice. A number I found associated with the company ************ hangs up on the caller no matter which selection you press. I've attached my web history from 6/26/24 showing I uploaded my license and card to the website. I've attached proof my card and license remain uploaded to the website. On 4/6/24, I parked in a lot in the downtown ******* area. There was no signage, no QR code, attendant, or rates posted. Me and a couple of other drivers looked everywhere for signs or an attendant. When I exited I expected there to be an attendant or a card machine to pay at the booth but there was nothing. Today (7/10) I received a notice by mail that the fee is $12.00 for the fare and $70.25 for a violation fee. This feels completely made up. Also, this is a 491% increase. How was I to know the lot was being monitored if there were no clear signs? I spoke to the police and he also felt it was a scam and told me to reach out to the BBB. After reading many complaints here and on Reddit of fraudulent charges to the credit card. The Macomb County Sheriff advised me not to give them any of my information.Business Response

I received multiple fines from this company for unpaid parking fees. I have never been to the parking garage that these fees are owed to. The pictures provided in the citation are half an inch big and black and white, so it is impossible to see the license plate or make and model of the vehicle that "supposedly" committed these violations. However, I can tell that the vehicle in the pictures is a dark colored sedan with silver wheels. I drive a white hatchback with dark gray wheels and tinted tail lights. The citation letter threatens additional fines and reporting me to collections. I disputed the citation and was told I need to provide additional documentation to prove that I don't own the vehicle. My vehicle does not match the vehicle that made the violation, and it's impossible that the sedan has the same plates as me. Violation # *********** Violation # ***********. Parking violations took place at ***************** in ****** ******** on June 19 and 20, 2024.These practices are predatory and dishonest.. Sending low quality photos to random citizens, making threats, demanding payment.. I will not pay these fines and I will not continue arguing with the company about it.Business Response

On 6/21/2024 I parked adjacent the ********************* at the garage at **************************************. At the entry the gate was up, and no ticket was issued. We proceeded to a parking spot, assuming we would pay the fee upon leaving. When we approached the exit, the gate rose. Nobody was in the booth. A sign on the side of the booth said "JUST DRIVE OUT". We left because there was no way to pay. Today I received a 'parking fee' from Metropolis for $6 (the parking rate) plus $70.25 (a "notice fee"). There was absolutely no information in the garage indicating who, when or how to pay. I am happy to pay the $6 parking fee but the "notice fee" is unacceptable and unwarranted. On 6/18/2024, I parked in the *************************************** lot to attend a Nashville Sounds game. I scanned the ** code, entered my license plate, payed the ********************** toll and attended the game. I received a receipt via email, a text, and other information that I paid for parking. I have the **************** charge that states I paid this bill. Metropolis sent me a bill in July that stated I did not pay and that I have a fine. I filed a dispute, and they told me my receipt for payment (which was posted 6/20/2024) was not enough proof and I needed further details that I no longer have as this issue was resolved. After the payment was posted and the receipt was provided I no longer kept the test messages or emails.Business Response

June 29 I paid a visit to ***************************************** garage; I already have the app in visit many of their sites so I did not feel the need to Scan the ** code for Parking After making a Short visit to ******* I requested one of their associates to validate my parking. After I gave them my license plate and discovered that my vehicle was not showing up in their system.From there, I found the nearest ** code to scan, after several attempts, I recorded my vehicle information, then return to the store where my parking was validated.Leaving the parking garage; the gate would not open. The gentleman holding an iPad at the gate asked if I had downloaded the app which I assured him I did the gate opened.The next day I received a notification from Metropolis stating that I needed to pay a fee to avoid further violations. It showed that I owed ******************************************** the garage 24 hours later.I sent an email to Metropolis assuring them that my vehicle have been validated by Sephora, indicating I was no longer in the parking garage; I also requested a refund considering it would be the same prize that shouldve been discounted.Business Response

From 6/20/24 to 6/21/24 we parked in an apartment complex at ********************************* as directed by an Air B and B host. The Air B and B listing stated free on premises parking. We were assured we did not have to pay for parking. The company, Metropolis, which owns the parking lot, sent us a bill for $94.25. After we told them we were told we did not have to pay, they offered to make us only pay $61. I told them I would pay the original $24 we would have paid for parking if we had known we had to pay at all. I should not have to pay a ticket from a private company who had documented history of attendants pocketing parking fees so people get scammed and ticketed. If I had known parking was not free I would have paid the $24. But the listing and the host both assured us there was free parking. I should not have to pay any fees.Business Response

The hospital security told me they would validate my parking and I gave them my license plate number. ********************** then sent me outrageous fines and fees for unpaid parking. The customer service rep from ********************** told me to scan a QR code but I live 3 hours away from the hospital I was servicing. **************** rep also doesnt know where the validation QR code is located in the hospital??
