I was invited to dinner in an unfamiliar part of town. When I got there, there was no place to park. It was on street parking only. I drove around and found a Parking garage that was under construction but people were parking there. I drove in, but was unable to find any ticket Machines or people working there. All that was available was a sign on the wall with a ** code. So I took a picture of my car in the spot including my license plate and attempted to set up my payment. However, the ** code was not working. I asked people around me for help but they were unable to get there ** code to work either. There was no phone number or anything to call about it. Once I got where I was going, I did try several times to get the ** code to work, but was unable to. I even asked the restaurant how this works and what I can do about paying the parking and they didnt know either. Its a new garage and they didnt know how it worked. Now I got the attached letter in the mail charging me $70 for a violation. I reached out to them about the situation and was more than happy to pay the parking fee which is all I was trying to do in the first place. I was never trying to get out of paying it. I was apologetic for being ignorant to the process, but did advise that I had some technology issues and was not the only one having those same issues that night. I asked them to please wave the fine and they wouldnt. I just want them to accept the $12 and waive the violation fee since the issue was obviously their system and not me.

      Customer Answer

After much back and forth, I finally heard back from Metropolis and they agreed to accept the $12 fee that was originally owed for the parking. So I told them that I would go ahead and pay that since I owed it. Thats all I was trying to do the night I parked there but they made it impossible to do. I dont think I necessarily need to take any further action on this complaint since Im satisfied with the outcome. Thank you for your efforts!

On Sunday, January 28, 2024 I parked in the garage on ****************************************************************************. There was signage to show free parking for ************* restaurant. So I parked there for approximately one and a half hours. And now I am getting charged, five dollars for the fair and $70.25 as a fine. I think this is incorrect. I tried contacting Metropolis (Premier Parking) but I have not heard back from them.

Received a parking violation from Metropolis. The location was **********************************. Emailed them explaining that my husband does roadside assistance and was assisting a pregnant stranded motorist and even provided proof of that. Told them I wasn't paying it because people doing roadside assistance have no idea about the parking when they accept a work order. They charged $70.25 for a violation fine which is more than double the amount of the actual parking fine of $30.00. The amount of the ticket is $100.25 for 30 freaking minutes of my husband helping a stranded motorist. The response I got was he should have gotten the parking validated because he was dining and shopping. Bull I told them he was not dining or shopping and where and how was he to get a parking validation when he was assistance a stranded motorist. We are not paying this ticket. Ridiculous what they charge and they wanted to discount the ticket and then add another fee for payment processing. H*** No. I am not paying this ticket. He was not dining or shopping. He was helping a pregnant lady with her car.

I arrived at the *************** on April 22, 2024 at 10:29 am. I went into a clients apartment for a few minutes, returned to my truck and left. I visited the garage again on April 26, 2024 and was there again to drop something off to my client. I was billed for FOUR DAYS (106 hours and 36 minutes) and I was not there. The cameras caught me coming in on the 4/22 but never showed me leave. They have me leaving on the 26th but never showed me entering. I called the first time and the lady i spoke with said it did show what i was describing and would talk to her supervisor to issue a refund. I never go the refund. I called back and now they say they have no evidence to back up my claim and will not refund my $203.30 they have ILLEGALLY taken from me. I do not know what else to do except complain to the BBB so this does not happen to others.

On Saturday May 4, I received a text message that stated I had a charge that did not go through. When I went to the link it states its for $21.49 for parking in a lot named Rebel Lot on 5/4 from 9:18pm - 10:35pm. I live in ***************. This company is ********* based and was not in *********. On Sunday I received another text message stating I would be fined $70.25 if I didnt update my payment method and pay within 48 hours. I tried to contact their customer service via email (the only option on their website) and was told I had to have registered the car, and Im responsible for the payment, and basically there is nothing they can do. The assigned me ticket number ****** which they marked as solved. It is not solved! This is highly upsetting and possibly even criminal! This is either an error or fraud and they are doing nothing to look into it. I have no idea what that license plate is. Nor was I even remotely in ********* during this time. I asked for an address or receipt - and they didnt provide me anything and just ended the support interaction. I would like this charge completely cleared and for my acount to be completely deleted from their system. 5/4 Text Message Metropolis: The Primary Driver of your vehicle BDM1168 has not approved you as a Shared Driver. Hello. I paid METROPOLIS PARKING for a parking spot in *******, ** on Feb 25th which was charged on my credit card. I have since though received several notifications that I have NOT paid and it seems as if they are trying to scam me of further funds. I have appealed their charges on their own website and provided them both copies of the Confirmation Email and Credit Card Statement proving my payment, yet they still send me threatening letters. That said, here is the text version of the receipt email proof I sent them: Spot: ************ - 1001 ******** Garage Entrance Address: *************** License Plate: DEFTONZ Edit Rental ID #: ******** Event: Monster Jam Enter After: Sun Feb. 25, 2024 12:00 PM Exit Before: Sun Feb. 25, 2024 8:00 PM Subtotal: $15.00 Service Fee: $1.05 Amount Charged: $16.05 * (to card ending in 4106) Please check into this and put an end to this fraud, as I know that I am not the only person having problems with this company. PS... just now I found out that there has been issues with Metropolis/Premiere Parking in the ********* area (which to my surprise is where BBB is located - see link below): ************************************************************************************************************************************** Metropolis recently acquired Premier Parking, and several changes have been made. Notices of penalties are now sent by Metropolis Payments, not McKinley Payments, to ensure clarity. I received a bill for parking. The tag number of the vehicle is not mine, the photo of the vehicle isnt mine, I wasn't in the parking garage anywhere near the alleged time and I have a receipt for the day in question. Absolutely embarrassing that I have to waste my time responding to a bill that should have never been sent to me. Horrible and clueless company.

On 5/1/24 I was charged a monthly subscription of $149.35 for May 2024 for parking at ************** in **********, **. The garage is underneath The Residences at ************ in **********, ** (************) where I used to live. I moved out of that apartment complex on 4/13/24. Moreover, Metropolis no longer manages that parking garage. It was taken over by AirGarage in February of this year. For March and April I was billed by AirGarage. I wasn't billed or charged by Metropolis during that time, but after I moved out I get hit with a charge to my credit card. Granted, I never canceled my subscription. I was never told I was supposed to do that. I did formally cancel the subscription on their website on 5/1/24 to prevent something like this from happening in the future. Either way, how can I be charged to park in a garage by a company that has nothing to do with that garage anymore? I sent a request for a refund to Metropolis through the help page on their website. I received a reply saying "Upon checking your account, our records indicate that your monthly subscription at ************** was canceled on 5/01/2024. Regarding your concern, subscriptions renew automatically, and cards are processed on the first of each month. If you are interested in canceling your subscription, you must do so before the 20th of the month to prevent the next month's charges. Due to this, I am unable to process your refund request, as the policy above states." With all that is noted above, I believe it is preposterous that a company can bill me for parking at a garage they haven't managed in months. That and their response to my request is horrible business practice.

This is the third time I have received a parking ticket for no reason. This company is wack for sure! You need to look into its business practices. May be a foreign entity running it, who are definitely using unfriendly/deceptive business practices to deceive their customers and try to tack on huge penalties. Please do something about this company, I have a bad feeling about it! Sincerely *****************

On 4/26/24 we were in downtown ********* and we used a ************ parking garage. There were multiple signs advertising parking for $8 for up to 2 hours. We parked in the garage and I received a text message advising that Metropolis saw me parking and that I can simply exit to pay. We stayed for 1hr 17min and upon exiting the garage, I was sent a text message with the receipt. I was expecting to see $8 but saw that it was $26.75. I reached out to Metropolis right away advising them of that mistake. They emailed me back saying that apparently there was a special event going on and I should have checked the special events rates. However, there were no signs advising about any special events. The company admitted by email that the special events will not always be indicated and I needed to check the rates after I parked. But I checked the advertised rates say the garage entrance. Why would I need to check the rates AFTER I parked. In addition, they admitted by email that the special rate is for 0-5 hours. So they would have still charged me that special rate even if I was in the garage for 2 minutes. They admitted that there was no signs indicating the special event rate. I'm asking to be refunded the difference of what was advertised ($8) and what was charged ($26.75). I believe it was a Fair Trade Act violation, this is not a transparent price; I had no way to avoid being charged that amount; it's causing me direct harm.
