Over the last 6 months, Metropolis cameras have misread someone else's license plate for mine FIVE times and incorrectly charged my account. This happened on 2/28/2023, 3/7, 3/7, 5/23 and 8/16. The only reason is isn't happening more often is because every time I legitimately park in a Metropolis lot, I have to add and remove my license plate from my account to avoid being incorrectly charged again. For example, I parked in a Metropolis lot on 8/14 for a meeting, forgot to remove my license plate from the account and less that 48 hours later on 8/16 was incorrectly charged for their cameras misreading someone else's license plate for mine. Every time this happens, I have to document where my car is actually parked, email Metropolis about the mistake and then wait for them to refund my account. It is a consistent waste of my time. Their customer service department has been LESS than helpful. In my most recent correspondence with customer service, a supervisor said in an email to me "Unfortunately, because theres no consistent pattern, we cant really get ahead of it. I know it feels big for you but 5 times over the span of at least a year of parking isnt that much." Her response was dismissive and rude. Metropolis is a tech company that prides itself on accuracy. Misreading someone's license plate 3 times over a one week period & incorrectly charing their acct indicates a pattern. I suggested adding my license plate back to my account to see how many times over a 2-3 wk period it is misread so her team can "get ahead of it". I have also suggested multiple times they provide parking credits for future use to make up for the consistent inconvenience due to their mistakes. So far, they have refused. I've been assured multiple times their tech team is working on the issue, but it keeps happening. For a company whose reputation with the public is terrible, you would think that would be more respectful and accommodating of customers they have repeatedly inconvenienced.

Just received a Metropolis Payment Parking Violation for a vehicle and plate that is not mine nor has ever been mine. I called the support number and spoke to a representative who simply pointed me to a web site to dispute the issue. I asked a follow up question about the 3rd party skip trace company and how they determined and linked this plate and vehicle to me and he hung up. Great customer service. Its a shame that in doing some light research I came across a large number of articles regarding this company and relevant issues such as mine. Who is doing anything about this? I noticed that Channel 5 news covered this ( going to reach out to them next ). Someone needs to improve this companies operations. The entry time was 1:31 pm to 2:16 pm with a fine of *****. BTW this was close to a month ago as the violation was on 7/29/2023. It took them that long to send out a violation? Theres a business process somewhere that is in need of a new owner. Also, seems like based on the numerous complaints and technology you may need a new CTO.

I am being charged for over $100 or more for a parking space, which I did not physically park in. I drove inside the garage looking for *** available parking spaces & preceded to leave after not finding any parking spaces. I was in the garage for about 12 minutes & Metropolis is stating they offer a 10 minute grace ****** being charged any fee's. There is NO SIGN posted inside the garage informing anyone about that 10 minute grace ******, so I had no clue about it. I was 2 minutes over that 10 minute grace ******, trying to attempt to leave the parking garage. & not to forget this was on a Saturday night in Downtown ********* & traffic is always very bad going in & out of any spaces of *********. Now they want to offer me $50 discount to my ticket since this is my first parking ticket. I am not satisfied with their resolution, because the information they provide for customers isn't even listed inside the actual parking garage itself. So its a trap for visitors just trying to look for any kind of parking in their garage.

On the evening of July 27 we went down to the Greektown Area of *******. When seeking a place to park we came across a lot where the gate was open but there was no attendant in sight. We parked assuming that someone would be available to collect a parking fee from us when we departed but there was no attendant then either. Two weeks later we receive a parking violation letter stating that the $10 parking fee was now owed along with a $70.25 penalty. I immediately contacted them letting them know that we had no idea that it was parking that required a subscription or needed to be paid through an online app. We do not visit downtown ******* often and had never experienced this type of parking arrangement before. I immediately offered to pay them the $10 parking fee for the space we occupied for those 2 hours and ********************************************************************************************************* to pay double the amount of the normal parking fee. I have explained and apologized that no one in our party saw any signs in the dark that night for payment instructions and that I am willing to pay the correct parking fee of $10 as I would have done had there been an attendant on that evening three weeks ago.

I received a parking violation that invalid about the time and report that I was parked in the lot. I attempted to file a dispute with customer service and was told that the lot is privately owned and my case was closed without fair consideration.

We received this notice for a visit to the Optimist park in ********* **. This lot had no signage as to having to pay to park. We asked a few patrons and they said there was nothing they saw either. We certainly would have paid if so. We did notice a towing sign for non-patrons but we did go inside and support several local businesses which makes us patrons. Upon multiple ****** reviews and satellite image searching - because we live almost and hour away- it is clear this is an issue that should fall on the company managing this lot. It is unfair to deceptively seem like free parking then impose fines like this on patrons. There are multiple references to this online. After disputing this charge, the company lowered the fee to $50 which is not acceptable. This is a total scam and this company needs to be held accountable.

A few weeks ago I met a friend at **************************************** for a bit. Although I have not been in some time, I parked in the ***************************** off E16th St. I have parked in this lot several times previously, as the ************* Website had explicitly said that it is available to guests after 6PM on weekdays. I was shocked to find a bill and a "violation fine" assessed for what was an available parking lot. The lot gates were both open and there were NO signs indicating that it was a paid lot at the entrance. In fact there were NO signs anywhere that met the ** LAW for paid private lots. I opened a dispute, and the company refused to waive the fees and fine, as they said they have never done so. It was not until I posted negative reviews at the lot AND ************* questioning the legality of their actions and that the website stated it was available to guests without any fees/time limits; that signs were installed (last week) and ************* changed their website to mention any form or payment (last week as well). I am even looking into the transaction time, as it appears that the company has a track record of incorrect time stamps and false "violations". I am not a one off instance, as there have been many negative reviews stating that there was no signage or indication of the lot had a time limit or fee to park. I am requesting they wave any and all fees as there was no signage, no indication on the website that it was a "paid lot" or even that cameras were installed. They had also requested mine and others personal and private data via the *** under false pretenses and attempt to extort 9x the parking cost without any warning. The fact that they only installed signage and changed the website AFTER my negative reviews and threat of a ** Attorney General complaint indicates that they rushed to try and cover up their illegal actions.See ****** Reviews for ************* Parking ****************************************************

On 5/7/23 my wife entered the "*******" parking lot in *********, ** located at ******************************************************. There are zero posted signs of parking prices on this parking lot that were clearly visible. Only a single sign indicated that you must by phone with an app and to "pay by phone or get towed".My wife attempted to download the app to pay, but had difficulty doing so. After roughly 10 minutes of attempting to do so, she left the parking lot as it was too difficult to do and was not worth the effort. On 6/5/23 we received a letter from Metropolis stating that we failed to pay a parking fare of $50 and charged and additional $70.25 violation fee for a total of $120.25.I contacted their support ******************************************** to dispute the charges as my wife never actually parked there. My first dispute attempt was initially answered, but they did not follow up to my response.I contacted them a third time on 8/12/23 to dispute the charges and was offered a lower charge of $60, which is not acceptable and then they immediately closed my dispute without warning or allowing for a response. They are still demanding payment for a service (parking) that was not given to my wife as she left the lot without parking. This is fraud.Metropolis has not provided any account, order, or tracking numbers. At this time, we have not paid Metropolis anything, but they continue to send harassing letters demanding payment for fraudulent services.I would consider this complaint resolved if they would simply remove the charges for the services they never provided. i.e. $0 of payment and the parking violation closed.

Based on filing this complaint Metropolis reached out to me and has agreed to close the violation and no payment is due. This is what I originally requested and thus this complaint can also be marked as resolved. Unfortunate that it required a BBB complaint, but in the end Metropolis was reasonable and responded appropriately. Thank you.

Parked in a Metropolis parking lot, followed instructions to pay but system was not working when I arrived or when I left. There was no way whatsoever to pay the fee and I was unsure how to proceed so we left. After 25 days I received a letter stating that I owed the parking fee and a violation fee of $70. I've attempted to work with their support to waive the fee and pay the parking fare but they refuse to remove the violation fee. The letter I received states that I left without paying the amount due, but there was no way to pay, no manned stations, no support number. They left me without a way to pay the standard fee, then penalized me for being unable to pay.
