On 5/7/23 my wife entered the "*******" parking lot in *********, ** located at ******************************************************. There are zero posted signs of parking prices on this parking lot that were clearly visible. Only a single sign indicated that you must by phone with an app and to "pay by phone or get towed".My wife attempted to download the app to pay, but had difficulty doing so. After roughly 10 minutes of attempting to do so, she left the parking lot as it was too difficult to do and was not worth the effort.On 6/5/23 we received a letter from Metropolis stating that we failed to pay a parking fare of $50 and charged and additional $70.25 violation fee for a total of $120.25.I contacted their support ******************************************** to dispute the charges as my wife never actually parked there. My first dispute attempt was initially answered, but they did not follow up to my response.I contacted them a third time on 8/12/23 to dispute the charges and was offered a lower charge of $60, which is not acceptable and then they immediately closed my dispute without warning or allowing for a response. They are still demanding payment for a service (parking) that was not given to my wife as she left the lot without parking. This is fraud.Metropolis has not provided any account, order, or tracking numbers.At this time, we have not paid Metropolis anything, but they continue to send harassing letters demanding payment for fraudulent services.I would consider this complaint resolved if they would simply remove the charges for the services they never provided. i.e. $0 of payment and the parking violation closed.Business Response

Parked in a Metropolis parking lot, followed instructions to pay but system was not working when I arrived or when I left. There was no way whatsoever to pay the fee and I was unsure how to proceed so we left. After 25 days I received a letter stating that I owed the parking fee and a violation fee of $70. I've attempted to work with their support to waive the fee and pay the parking fare but they refuse to remove the violation fee. The letter I received states that I left without paying the amount due, but there was no way to pay, no manned stations, no support number. They left me without a way to pay the standard fee, then penalized me for being unable to pay.Business Response

I received a violation from supposedly June ************************************* not only a $5 fee for "not paying for 26 minutes of parking time overage " I explained to ******* via email that there was 90 minutes free parking and there was no signed where I parked indicated that I needed to sign into an app to pay any overage while eating at ********** located at Optimus hall in ********* they ensured me that the parking was going to valeted due to me having a reservation there so believe my surprise when u recieved a bill that was higher than the cost of food that I paid for at said establishment. I am requesting for this company to waive the late fee of $45.25 so that I can pay the $5 of unpaid parking that they are claiming that I owed from when I parked in June but never sent me a bill until nowBusiness Response

I was charged for parking in *********** at one of their parking lots. The restaurant gives 2 hours free parking. When I left after 90 minutes, my receipt showed only a .99 cent fee and a credit for parking. The next morning my credit card was charged $12.99.Customer Answer

I have been receiving parking tickets on a car I sold 3 years ago. Each time I get a ticket, I have to go onto the website to dispute it. I have told them we sold the car and requested that they update their records, but they are still sending the tickets.We notified them that I sold this car in 2020. We have notified the state of the sale. Unfortunately, the guy who bought the car has not transferred the title yet, so this is why I am still on the account for this license plate number. May 18, 2023 I parked in a downtown parking lot managed by Metropolis Payments. The signage in the lot stated that cameras in the lot would capture your license plate and send you a bill. I received nothing until July 2023 and when I did it was for a bill that included $22 in parking fees and $70.25 in violation fees. I contested the violation fee twice with Metropolis and despite being told I would deal with a human, I was sent denial emails. I have no way to pay the parking fee alone...their website will only take the full payment via credit card. I indicated I am happy to pay for my parking but Metropolis denied my contest twice. I paid for my daughter to park in a parking garage during our trip to ********* on July 29 of this year. She mistakenly drove into a parking garage, drove around looking for me, then exited and navigated to the correct garage. She never parked! On 4/2/2023 I used the parking in ********* **. I thought I payed through the app. I recieved a letter stating I did not pay the $18.00 and now owe a fine of $70.25. I have tried 3 times to get in touch with metropolis to settle this dispute, they will not return my emails.they sent me an email saying a HUMAN would get in touch with me this has not happened. I do owe the $18.00 and have no problem paying it, but I do not feel like I owe the $70.25 violation fee. Was incorrectly charged for a parking violation, via their sub contactor, TriStar Enforcement (have another complain filed for them) and I am being charged a fee by my rental car company because Metropolis billed Hertz for the violation. ******* agrees the charge was incorrect, but it now Metropolis that is billing the rental car company. Date: 7/9/23 I parked at Metropolis lot at corner of ******************* and Commerce in ********* *********.I scanned the ** code near my parking space and completed all the required information, including payment with debit card. The amount was $31.00 and some change for 2 hours.My wife and I returned approximately 1.5 hours later to find our car booted.I called the number on the sticker they had placed on my driver's side window.Around 15 minutes later 2 guys in a TriStar vehicle showed up. They refused to unlock the boot until I paid them $180.00 which, according to them, included the original charge plus $75.00 unlock fee plus the balance for some sort of error in completing the information initially.*************************** is the name the supervisor gave me.When I got home I sent an email to Metropolis. They responded that they had no relationship with *******, that I would need to contact ******* and that they considered the issue "solved".I got no response to my email to Tristar.This clearly appears like a scam to me. No one has explained what I did wrong in submitting my payment information. Their responses are designed to where down anyone who complains so I will tire of pursuing it and they keep my $150.00.I feel like if these people continuously get away with this nonsense, they will keep doing it.My next email will be to the ***************** tourist bureau.I hope you can help me hold these people accountable.
