I received a parking violation notice (054-332-980) in the mail and am unsure why. We parked at a garage on Memorial Day (May 29th) and assumed parking was free, as it was a holiday. There was no parking attendant and the gates were up. At no point upon entering or leaving were we asked to provide a ticket to pay any fees for our stay that evening. There was also no parking amount listed upon entering the garage that day, so again, we assumed it was free. I have several friends who also parked at this garage on May 29th and they did NOT receive a parking violation in the mail. If parking was really not free on this day, we would have paid the fare upon leaving. As far as I'm concerned, there was no staffing, no secure gates, and my car was not secured in the lot. The entire point of providing a paid parking service/garage is to ensure the car is safe. Had I known there was a $25 fee for an unsecured, unstaffed ********* would have parked on the streets of ******* as those were indeed free on Memorial Day. They are charging an insane fee for not paying for parking that day - when it did not state that parking was not free. I refuse to pay a predatory fine that only occurred because the garage was not properly staffed, gated, or marked. To leave a garage open on a national holiday is entrapment. Again - the whole point of paying for a garage is to ensure your car is safe. They want me to pay almost $100 when the entire garage was not secure. The Company then told me they would decrease the fine if I signed up for their app. Again, they only want me to sign up for their app so they have my personal information including my credit card information. I have never had any violations in the past and always pay upon entering/leaving a parking garage.Business Response

The Company reached out to me and insisted I pay a $40 fee. This includes the $25 "unpaid fare" and a $15 "processing fee". The processing fee alone is 60% of the actual unpaid fare, which still doesn't make sense to me. I initially accepted the response and paid the $40 fee. I have reached out to the Company several times and asked them to close out this violation since I did indeed pay the adjusted fee. Despite their initial email stating "Once payment has been submitted, please respond to this thread so I can verify payment and close the violation.", they will not verify my payment. When I go into the initial ticket violation number, I still see the $95 outstanding balance, which I was assured would be cleared. This Company refusing to close out the violation in a timely manner is another example of how unprofessional they are and how they are scamming people out of fees and violations. They need to close this violation out in order for me to accept their response.Sincerely,

I parked at one of there parking spots. There was not a single sigb saying how much it was. When I went online to purchase it there was not a single spot saying how much. The website said after purchase and you leave they state the price. However once i left it charged me over 50 dollars stating its a flat rate. When I tried calling they never answered. I emailed and they kept giving me the same response saying its on their app not website. They also refused to give me a refund due to their lack of communication. I just want a refund from them.Business Response

Over the last several months, on 4 separate occasions, my account has been incorrectly charged due to Metropolis cameras mis-reading someone else's license plate for mine. I now know that someone who parks in the Commerce Street lot in ********* has a license plate that is one letter off from mine. But the letters look similar to the camera, hence it mistaking their plate for mine. Every time this other person pulls into the Commerce Street lot (which happened 3 times in one week), I get a text alert as if it was my car pulling into the lot and my account is being charged. Each time this has happened, I've had to immediately drop everything I am doing (working, meeting with clients, appointments), etc, go outside to take photos of where my car is ACTUALLY parked in the am when receiving the initial text AND in the afternoon when the person finally pulls out of the lot and a receipt is sent to my account. I then have to email Metropolis, explain the situation and wait for them to investigate and issue a refund. After the 3rd time, Metropolis removed my license plate from my account & assured me their tech team was looking into this so that it would not happen again. Several weeks ago, I had to add my license plate back to my account to park in a Metropolis lot. I forgot to remove the plate immediately following. Two days later, my account was charged again due to the other car pulling into the Commerce Street lot and Metropolis cameras mis-reading their plate for mine. I documented where my car was actually parked & emailed Metropolis AGAIN. Refunding my account for incorrect charges is the BASE level of customer service ********************** should provide at this point. I asked ab parking credits for future use to make up for this continued inconvenience but so far Metropolis is ignoring that request. This will continue to happen until their systems are fixed. And I am certain that if I didn't have documentation, I would never get so much as a refund.Business Response

We entered the parking garage. There were no parking spots available. There is only one lane in and out of garage. We had to wait for the cars that pulled in behind ** to turn around. Metropolis mailed ** a $95.25 parking violation and we never parked. When I attempted to dispute violation, they lowered it to $40 IF I download an app I will never use, I was in the garage for 12 minutes. 2 minutes passed their 10 minute grace ******* I keep getting the same email reply. Download the app and pay $40.Business Response

Parked at a lot on 4/19/2023. Received a receipt for parking for $0.00. I didn't think anything of it as our credit card is on file so they are supposed to bill you automatically and send a receipt. This week, I received a violation *********** ****** for $90.25. Now that I look at the receipt, it has some parking lot on the other side of town that we weren't close to. Why are we being charged a $70 fine for not paying when this company has our card on file and is supposed to bill automatically. On top of that, they actually sent ** a receipt for $0.00 indicating that there was no charge. I believe this to be part of their business model. To scam folks. I do not want to pay this fine which was not my fault. I am asking for this violation to be cancelled. The receipt is attached.Business Response

I parked for an hour in one the garages on Pine Street. I pulled in the garage, turned immediately left and parked in the first spot. This was my first time in this particular ********* was eating in the restaurant that was attached - Superica. When I came out I got in my car and left the garage. There was no arm or pay box in the ********* saw no signage. I even commented to my friend who was with me how nice to be able to park so close for free. I just received a letter informing me that I owe them a $70 fine because I did not pay the $6 required to park. I have reached out to them without a favorable response. I am not sure how I was supposed to know how to pay them $6 when nothing in the garage made it obvious. Even so, if they'd mailed me something saying I'd missed their sign and I owe them the $6 for using their garage, I'd be happy to pay. But, this feels like a scam to charge $70 extra for parking because I didn't know it cost $6. That is outrageous markup. And I have to imagine they are getting people with this scam all the time.Business Response

I parked in one of Metropolis managed lots on 3/28/23. I was there for about 90 minutes. I tried for almost 30 minutes to get their app/payment site to work. I kept on getting an error. I finally just left. Well I got a bill in the mail for a violation. violation # *********** They demanded the $85. I told them what happened and they said they would reduce to $50 and that was final. This was their site/app error and they are trying to fine me. They insist on me paying the reduced fine. I am refusing and will not pay it.Business Response

On 4/30/23 I was issued a parking ticket in *********. When I used the kiosk it did not require a payment. It was a Sunday morning and the lot must have been free that day. I was given a ticket for being 20 minutes over time in a free parking day. There was no response in trying to dispute and they are attempting to charge me *****. Again no real way to dispute and outrageous fines.Business Response

I have a charge for non-payment at a lot that Premiere has confirmed has a 10-minute grace ******* Premiere/Metropolis are wanting to charge $60.25, but can only tell me the entry time and not the exit time. They are unable to show that the driver was there for more than a couple minutes, yet are arbitrarily charging us and refuse to remove the 'violation' fine. They are attempting to charge me on the ASSUMPTION that we owe them money. Their online support team gives copy/paste answers that are gibberish half the time (ie "Unfortunately, to address your concern we Scan to park was not like the camera enables parking site where entry and exit were visible.") leading me to believe they are not using any critical thinking skills. I'm happy to pay if the garage can show that the vehicle was there over the 10-minute grace ******* but I will not hand over money just because they feel they're entitled to it. Metropolis and Premiere Parking admit they do not have the information needed to show that the vehicle was there long enough.Business Response
