On 6/3/22 I parked at a Premier-managed parking facility. Signage was poor. I asked another patron in the parking garage how to obtain an entry ticket since the gate was open when I entered the garage. They mentioned there should be a QR code to scan, but it was not posted anywhere that I could find. I also typically don't carry a smart phone. I walked to the front gate and there was a person there so I decided to pay cash on my way out. When I did exit, the attendant was gone and the gate was open. I waited for an attendant to reappear but he did not show back up. I then received a $70.25 fine from McKinley Payments. There is no contact information on my letter. Just a website to make payments. I attempted three times to send messages through the payment website and do not receive responses. I completely expect to pay the parking fee, which is $10, but I worry this company is a scam as I cannot get in touch with any person and the violation fine is absurd, given the poor signage and zero options for those without a smart phone.

We parked in the garage at ******************* (managed by Metropolis Technologies) in ********* ** to enjoy dinner. There was a sign with a ** code that said the validation code is needed with your license plate to pay for **********************. We used the ** code multiple times but it didn't result in a validation code. We went to dinner assuming that leaving the garage might allow the text to be delivered but upon returning to the car 2.5 hours later, we still hadn't received the code. There was no information about how to get help, no attendant, no phone or website. We left because we had no other recourse; we had no way to pay. Later, as expected, we received a ticket for $75 (more than 10 times the $6.57 fare). I disputed it in an attempt to get an answer as to what they expect customers in our situation to do - what to do when their automated process fails- and I've never gotten an answer. They reduced the fine to $50 but still haven't answered my simple question. I've called a customer support line that I found on-line (there is NO phone number on the ticket) and they said they can't help with Enforcement issues (that's a separate department). I've asked to speak to a manager multiple times and they've said the complaint has been escalated multiple times but NO ONE has contacted me to discuss what a customer is supposed to do in that situation. 'Enforcement' works by emails only and I only get the statement that the fine is $50 and there is nothing further they can do. I have yet to get any answer to my simple question. I don't mind paying a small fine but I am concerned that they have no incentive to make their processes work since they get much more money from a fine than a fare.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I appreciate the refund but also hope that they will address both their business processes and their dispute and customer service staff communications so that this never happens to anyone else. It should never have required a BBB complaint to resolve.

We have been traveling to ********* for healthcare (don't know the *********) and have parked in Metropolis managed parking lots on several times. When doing so, we followed the posted instructions: (1) we scanned the ** code for the lot to "check in" to the lot, and (2) exited the lot once we were done, expecting we would be auto-billed upon exit (which is how the company says their service works). During our first visit on 2/17/23, the check-in/check-out process worked as the company suggests, and an our card was automatically charged for the parking ($6.99). During two subsequent visits (2/20/23 and 2/28/23) we checked-into the parking lot (by scanning the ** code) but the check-out process did not work as promised and we were not billed for parking. We were not aware the billing had not occurred as we had no reason to confirm it was working given that it had worked previously. We have now received a $76.25 parking ticket from Metropolis for failure to pay for parking on 2/20/23 (violation # ***-469-338). The ticket fine is for $70.25. We have not received a ticket for parking on 2/28/23 as our recollection is we were not parked for more than an hour (first hour is free). We are hopeful we do not get charged a fine for that visit as well (but note it here so that you have full information). We reached out via email to the company in an attempt to achieve a resolution as it is the only method they provide for reaching them. Their response is that we had to pay -- yet, they did not seem to understand/acknowledge the error was on their end (we used the service per their instructions and have absolutely NO REASON to skip out on a $6.00 parking fee). They provide no further recourse following their initial response and no way for us to speak to someone to explain what occurred to achieve a satisfactory resolution. This company is taking advantage of us. The proposed fine is not warranted and outrageous.

I received a parking violation dated February 24, 2023. It states that my license plate was scanned into a parking garage at ************ North in *********, ** at 7:24 p.m. It ****** that my tag was scanned leaving the garage at 11:53 p.m. I have not used that parking garage in more than a year. That night, my wife and I were in ******** ** from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. We have bank statements that show we were no where near the location of the parking garage at the time my tag were "scanned." I believe the cameras used to read the license plates are faulty and mis-read the plate of a different car, then charged me for it. We have tried to reach out directly to the company but all we have received are automated email responses that do not address our concerns. It is clear the company is not reading our complaint and does not care about charging someone nearly $100 for something they did not do.

On 12/14 I recieved a violation- *********** due to an updated license plate. I have a subscription to the garage, but TN would not let anyone renew their plates this year due to the new design and I was issued a new number. I added this into the metropolis app while standing in the garage that morning ( 12/14). I received an original notice and send a dispute via the website- got a holding response, but no one ever responded. I got another notice in Feb with a fine of ***** included- tried to call, but was told I had to submit via the website. I submitted again and got an automated response but again, no one ever got back to me. Today I get a final notice in the mail and call the number- which directs me to submit a claim through the website so I called back and talked to customer service. The lady was nice but noted she couldn't do anything to help and told me to send an email- which I did. I want to make sure this doesn't go to collections bc I have a valid subscription and have been using the service under the new plate since without issue.

None of our cars have the license plate shown. I am confused on how this got to me and the threat of collection agencies for something I never used.Transaction occured: 2/13/23 using Lic plate RKK759 Violation: ***********

Parked at night in the parking lot of 333 commerce. I am the paramedic working at the ***** for an event on 2/15/2023. I parked at 5:30 pm and when I came out at 11:00 my vehicle had been booted. I had to pay the $75.00 boot fee plus the $20 parking fee. I have receipts of all these transactions.

Parked at a garage in downtown *********. Had a terrible time getting the website to come up with the ** code, but finally did it. Added my license plate number, payment, my email address and phone number, and went to see the show we came for. When we left, there was no notification of payment or anything. The next day I get a notification asking if we had left the parking lot, I marked yes and to pay the bill. Today 2/13, I get a parking ticket in the mail for $90.00. Since I clearly remember being a little suspicious of this company to begin with because of all the problems I had getting my car registered, and the fact that I got zero communication from that company the next day, I CLEARLY remember going in the following morning and making sure it was paid. Now I can't find one email/text/notification from this company to prove I did that. My perception is that this is done on purpose to trick people in to paying an extra $70 fee. There are MULTIPLE complaints of fraud for this company all over the country and as they make sure they're is no way to reach them or to prove one way or another whether you indicated an acceptance to pay, via confirmation on email or text (which information they collect when you park), I have to assume that this company is participating in Unfair, Deceptive, and Abusive tactics.

January 14, 2023 I parked in a Metropolis parking garage on **************** in ********* for about an hour. I used the ** code to log my parking and provide my credit card information. The signs and app promised that all I would have to do is leave the garage and my card would automatically be charged for my time of stay. In February, I received a parking violation with a fee of $76.25 for this stay in their lot. The actual parking would have only cost $6. There was an option to dispute the ticket so I clicked the link and filed a dispute. Later that day, "Support" responded "Violation {***********} was received for non-payment at a Metropolis parking facility. Our records indicate that this was your first violation received and we would be willing to reduce the violation amount to $50....[link]...We provide safe, contactless parking for you and it all happens digitally! Metropolis' license plate recognition technology will allow for a seamless drive in and out experience. Payments are applied automatically every time. It's that easy!" Even the email sent about the violation indicates that their app would automatically charge me. Their technology was broken and now I have to pay. I will not pay $50. I will gladly pay $6. This business should be shut down.

Recently received a bill from Metropolis Parking in ********* for $110.25. The bill indicates that I parked in their lot address ****************** from 1/6/23-1/7/23 (24hrs). I use the alley way between two of the premier lots to access ***************** from ***************** daily. I did do this at 2:04pm on 1/6/23 and 2:01pm on 1/7/23. However, as usual I am only passing thru. I have filed a dispute with Metropolis regarding this matter, but it was denied. I have been unsuccessful in speaking with someone in person. I did explain in my dispute and also offered to provide documentation that my vehicle was parked in the ********* **************** (employer) parking lot all day on 1/7/23 and therefore could not have been in the *********** until 2:01 pm.

Good Afternoon- Although McKinley Payments agreed to waive the additional charges today 3/6/23 we have received two more citations charging for overnight stays in there lot.
