Metropolispmg Friday November 25th around 7pm central time. I show up to the parking lot and scan QVC code to see how much it cost which is *****. Then I exited the app didn't it hit pay now. I decided to go park somewhere else. The next day November 26th I checked my info and saw a charger from them. Monday November 28 I called and spoke to someone and they basically told me they can't give me any money back from something I didn't use.Initial Complaint

I understand that Premier parking has been taken over by metropolis.io which is the company that I would really like to report. We parked with them in ********* on Nov. 5th, 2022. There was only one obvious pay station in the lot, so that is where we paid ($30.99 for two hours). We come back before our time is over to find a $70 ticket on the windshield. We reached out to the company with our receipt, and come to find out that we paid a completely different vendor. There were no signs indicating that the spot we had parked in was not under the jurisdiction of the only obvious pay station in the lot. The company would not work with us beyond reducing the ticket to $50. I think they must have obvious signs indicating where to pay/what spots belong to which company if two businesses are sharing a lot. so we ended up paying $80 to park for less than 2 hours. We would like a refund of the ticket we paid as there was actually no way to know how to pay them. We have attached the receipt from the other company proving that we would have paid metropolis if it had been possible.Business Response

I tried to add my license to their web app. It kept rejecting it. So I emailed them the same night I parked there to tell them of my problem. They asked me to add the license plate. I tried and it still wouldnt work. So they sent me a mailed bill with the original parking amount of $25 plus a $70.25 ticket fee. I was not ok with this. So I emailed them and disputed it. They wouldnt relent. So I kept at it. They agreed to reduce the total bill to $50. I reluctantly paid because it was such a pain to dispute their error. I paid the $50 and got confirmation. Then I just got another threatening letter in the mail with no acknowledgment of my payment. This is ridiculous and Im asking for them to refund my $50 and delete my bill. Im hoping the BBB will resolve this.Business Response

Tried to park in their lots in downtown *********. The only way to pay was an app, which wasnt loading because my service provider throttled my data speed due to me being in a high traffic (downtown *********) area. I was unable to pay at the time of parking and couldnt find anyway to pay beyond the app. They sent me a ticket in the mail a month later with a 20 day payment due date that costed 10 times the parking price and I cant get a hold of anyone to help me work this out. Please for the sake of your wallet and sanity, never park in these lots anywhere.Business Response

I set up a Metropolis account on 8/18/22 when I first parked in one of their garages. I registered my car license plate, payment method and phone number in the account. Their automated license plate reader properly charged the parking fare on this day in August. Subsequently, I parked in a different Metropolis garage on 10/13/22. Immediately upon entering the garage, the license plate reader recognized my vehicle and triggered the following text to the phone number registered to the account: "Welcome to **************** powered by Metropolis! Just drive out to pay." Since I had an existing account linked to the license plate, phone number, and payment method, I followed the explicit instructions in the text their automated system sent, and I later exited the parking lot as instructed. A couple weeks later, I received a violation notice in the mail stating I owed the original $5 fare in addition to a $25 ticket fine. Even though their automated system recognized my vehicle upon entering the garage which triggered a text, their system must have had a glitch and didn't charge the payment method on file which prompted a "violation" notice. I followed their online instructions to dispute the violation which requires email communication only. There is no way to speak to someone to resolve. Despite providing detailed documentation and explanation in multiple email exchanges, the dispute was denied, and they repeatedly refuse to call me to discuss further. There is a separate customer service phone number, however, the representatives have no authority over the dispute process and are unable to help. In the end, I am still being charged a fine for a glitch their system made even though I had an existing account (which previously worked properly) and I followed the instructions I was provided by their system when I entered the garage. I will gladly pay the original $5 fare, but I should not be held accountable to pay a $25 fine for their system issue.Business Response

I parked in their parking lot as I have done many times before and assumed it charged my card on file. I forgot that I got the new ********* license plate so it did not connect to my card. I owe $18 for parking but they are trying to charge me $88. I sent in a dispute and they sent back Denied! There is no phone number and I don't want them to have my credit card number. I am willing to pay the $18 that I owe but $88 is absurd!!!Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: they had originally sent me a message saying the inquiry was closed and I get a bill once a week saying I still owe it. I am scared to give them a credit card for the 18 dollars because they will use it for charging the 88 dollars.
Sincerely,

I park at ******************** in ********* for the football games at **************. I have to park there because its open air and I have a taller vehicle. When I go in I get a text saying that Ive checked in and when I leave I get a text that Ive checked out and thank you for parking. The last time I went there, I got the alerts saying I was checked in and checked out, but then I got a ticket in the mail. Not sure if there system wasnt working but I wouldve easily scanned the ** code and paid that way.Business Response

God bless to whomever is reading this.Primary problem: Parking facility attempting to collect $79.25 for less than 2 hrs which is normally $9. The letter they sent says unpaid parking fee is $9.00, but a fine of $70.25. Date of entry 08/29/22 10:39AM & exit 08/29/22 12:22PM @ *********************************************. Violation #***********. The letter that was sent only has a portal to pay their $79.25 fee and NO CONTACT INFO. After an extensive search I was finally able to locate an email address to dispute where I OFFERED TO PAY THE $9.00 but they arbitrarily DENIED demanding $79.25. I have attached the letter that Metropolis sent me and it has pictures of me sitting at the booth with break lights off prepared to pay, then break lights on. You cannot exit unless attendant opens the gate.Details:Upon entering garage gate was open. Went to doctor *********** and upon exiting approached the booth and advised parking attendant that gate was open upon entry and prepared to pay full price for the day, but attendant opened the gate and wished me a good day. Picture on the letter they sent shows me sitting at the booth with attendant. Later I received a letter demanding $79.25 for leaving without paying. The facility employee/parking attendant opened the gate and advised me to exit. I had no problem paying the fee, but their employee opened the gate and advised me to exit and now they come back with a markup of $79. That is ridiculous.Closing:Please assist with resolving this issue. I have no problem paying the fee of $9.00 for time spent in the garage. but an additional $70.25 is not fair for a problem that I DID NOT CAUSE. If they would change the $79 fee in the portal to $9.00 we could have this resolved with no problem. Thank you so very much for your assistance.Business Response

August 2022, I was given a parking notice from Metropolis payments for pulling my vehicle into their lot, I have tried to contact the company via email multiple times to resolve the issue. I was sent a parking ticket of $80.25, $10 of that for a parking fare and $70.25 in FEES, how corrupt of a company, I did not leave my car unattended and there was a passenger in the car that never left.Business Response
