Metropolis says they are a technology company but not all parking lots have automatic scanners.
Got booted 75$ and non payment = 179.64$ for 9min of parking.
Got booted at 5:56, called booting company at 6:05pm.
Metropolis did not apologize and didn’t refund. Said this lot was like a parking meter. Where is the consistency?
Never park with these nut job of a company who is ruining big cities. Delete the app and give money to the local city or another parking lot until they can be ripped of their right to be in Nashville.
      Predatory business.
I also got charged 50$ for 17min of parking after getting a smoothie, no posted amounts city website says there is an hourly available but they charged me for 10hrs.
      Metropolis is a Scam.

Obviously looking below there is not a single good review on Metropolis and clearly everyone is upset over the same kind of issues. But something seriously needs to be done about this company, from the countless things I have read of wrongly charging people and making their payment system difficult just so they can charge you more and tack on absurd fees. I myself got a ticket saying I missed a $10 parking payment in a garage that I don’t recall seeing pay to park and had no attendant and got an $80 bill in the mail, how can you even justify $70 in fees, the state/police don’t even charge that much. This is a scam artist at best and I hope something is done about this awful company soon enough.

Scam artists. We paid for parking in Dallas lot and received a bill for $180.50. $20 each day and a violation charge of $70.25 each day. They have no phone number available to call and speak with anyone to sort this out. Just an email that doesn’t get responded to.

Scam. Valet had my car. Their dispute system is joke and won't consider proof with the valet ticket. They won't cancel the $70 fine unless you sign up for their app.

Charged $30 for one hour and ten minutes of parking at the ********* parking lot at 401 State Street in Knoxville, Tennessee on 9/29/23. Parking lot controlled by Metropolis out of Illinois.
No provisions for Handicap parking or payment facility upon entering or exiting parking lot.
Get bill in mail for $30.
      Total and complete ripoff.

Total scam. If I could give negative stars I would. Do not use this service. Parked in a lot paid for my spot and then they said I pulled in the wrong entrance so charged me $70 for non payment. I disputed and they "graciously" gave me a discount and charged me $20 for a spot I already paid for.

Using these parking facilities is a nightmare
There is no signage explaining costs, confusing app, and ridiculous charges. Be prepared to be charged not by the hour but a flat rate for 12 hours PLUS a service charge. We were charged $46.50 for 4 hrs. and 8 minutes at City Square Parking in Nashville.

My son entered one of their parking garages at 1401 1st Street, Detroit, MI on 9/21/23 at 9:21 pm and left at 10:31 pm. The very large signs read "COME ON IN" AND "DRIVE ON OUT"-no gates. In very small print, elsewhere, it says you need to scan an app and sign up with a credit card to pay. NO WHERE did he see this IN THE DARK. He came back on 9/24/23 at 7:29-8:06pm-same thing.
Because the car is registered in my name, I received a "Notice of failure to pay parking fares". Fare for the first night was $8.00 for 70 minutes-the FEE IS $70.25. (no notice, no opportunity to pay with a fair penalty). I reached out to them-only way to contact is via email. I have copies of all of the ambiguous correspondence.
Then, I received another letter stating I owe $3.00 for the 35 mins on 9/24/23 and an additional $70.25 "notice fee".
They emailed and said my case was closed. I emailed back asking what "closed" meant. Then, they said I could pay the 9/21/23 fee and that they'd forgive the second "ticket". I paid via **** then googled and saw on ****** that this is a supposed scam.
I am reaching out to the local television station as well as MI Attorney General and now the BBB.
These people need to be stopped. I just saw a segment on Detroit Local 4 news, Help me Hank where an ambulance company-********- is charging exoribant rates-similar practices to Metropolis. Ironically, they both have addresses in Carol Stream, IL 60197. It appears that they could be connected.
I will also be filing a dispute with **** and contacting the Secretary of State and MI Attorney General-anyone who can do something about these unfair practices-SCAM.
Ive read that they send erroneous tickets once they have your plate also-so I will be notifying the Secretary of State regarding this as well as all credit reporting agencies.
This is horrible. I hope they are shut down or at least people know not to park in their lots.

This company is a complete rip of I got 4 ticket totaling 334.00 which is clearly unacceptable. I don't mind paying something but 4 payments of 70.00 is insane if I would've know they charged I would've easily payed for parking a 100 feet from where I was going which was the casino which I thought was there parking. No arm to or booth to receive money or stop me from coming in and out . So many people of Detroit is being robbed and I'll do whatever to stop from paying this senseless ticket

Metropolis is obviously a money making scam. Will not listen to verified details to dispute parking violation ticket and continues to threaten further action if not paid. Absolutely horrendous parking fees, over $40 an hour at times, and want to tack on violation fees on top of that. They simply wait until you park and write out a ticket, period. No signs, other than a QR code, no posted rates, some that appear to change as you attempt to go through website- nothing but extortion to park in a lot held by Metropolis. Disgusting business.
