I parked at a lot at 160 East Congress Detroit MI 48226 for 2 hours on 9/15/23 and again a week later on 9/23/23 for just under 2 hours. When I entered the parking lot I waited for a ticket and the gate opened allowing me entrance. I parked and then upon exiting I expected to pay and the gate was open. It was the weekend on both cases and therefore I thought that parking was free only to get a bill indicating that the charge was $20 and an additional $130.25 in fees with a picture of my scanned license plate, the letter also included threats for nonpayment of additional fees, collections, legal action, booting and towing. There is no phone number to speak to a live representative.
When I opened a dispute on their website I received an automated reply referring to me as "Jack", my name is not Jack and they closed the claim. This company is predatory.

There have been quite a couple issues here.
-Firstly, there shouldn't be any charge as the gym membership takes care of that. It still accrues a charge when I go.
-Secondly, sometimes I come in and it scans me automatically and starts the visit within the app. Sometimes it doesn't. And when it doesn't, and I put it in the app manually, it doesn't allow me to leave without the help of a worker or calling customer support.
-Thirdly, whoever the hell you guys have working there who walks around with that iPad needs to be fired. He has an awful attitude, doesn't care to help, has a nasty tone to his voice, and is very snappy. He was insisting that my discount through the gym wasn't "verified", when in fact I had been going to the gym for a month now, and it had worked every time BESIDES the times that I had to manually enter in my visit. I am not the issue. I make sure I scan, and if I forget to scan I pay. But the fact that I scanned, I paid, and couldn't leave unless someone over the phone or this rude in person rep could open the gate is frustrating.
Whoever that in-person worker is needs to go, TODAY. He walked up not saying hello, hi, nothing, just came up and looked at me crazy until I said something. Then i'm explaining my issue and he's got a stick up his ___, acting as if i'm dumb, or I messed up, or I didn't do something right. I didn't do anything to him to be treated like that. I'm way too sweet.
-Don't have a worker working if they don't wanna be there.
-Fix the scanner so when people come in it SCANS them.
-Allow people to exit the premises even if the scanner did not scan them, and they entered in the visit manually. Allow us to open the **** gate and leave. Especially if you're gonna have this kid working there. You already have one star reviews, at least hire a worker that could help y'all out or something. That entire experience was awful. I'd rather park on a tree.
I want to speak to somebody ASAP.

I went to *** *** ****** for a dinner event on Sept 21st, 2023 & the street parking was full. I parked in a gravel / junky looking lot that had a *** *** ****** Catring van in it along with several other vehicles. I looked for signs & a place to pay, just in case it was a pay lot. Nothing. It was dark (7pm), but I did look & didn't see any signs. The next morning, I noticed a piece of paper under my windshield wipper. I scanned the QR code & it said I needed to pay Metropolis Parking $110.25. Get a life Metropolis. Good news is the vehicle is a rental. I won't pay this. I feel you on purpose, trick people by either having hard to find signs or may not even have signs at all. After doing my research, it looks like this is common for your company. Trick people by having junky lots, wide open with unnoticable signs - if any. I gave you 1 star & wish I could give you 0 for trying to take advantage of others.

No prices listed anywhere, only to discover after the fact I was charged $40 for 2 hours of parking. Predatory business practices to not have a sign with the prices in a clearly visible place so people can decide whether or not they want to use this garage.
In response to my complaint they stated they list prices once you login to their electronic platform. Once you actually park in the garage since it is underground there is no signal to access. So you must park the car multiple levels underground then use the elevator to get back to the ground level and pay. Then you discover the outrageous charges and you are over their “grace” period to go retrieve your car.

Metropolis sent a parking violation when it was paid at time of parking prior to walking to event. Violation dispute ignored despite proof of payment and answering all questions regarding the matter. This company is scum. The grading system apparently doesn't allow for ZERO stars which is what I attempted.

I can’t stand the Metropolis Automated Parking system that uses license plate info, credit card on file etc. They say pull in and just pull out to exit after setting up your profile and payment. I did this the 1st time of the 3 times I’ve had to park here this year and got the credit card payment info setup (while the meter is running inside the parking lot). Always charged a service fee every time I access the parking lot that is mandatory and no way around that. Can’t pay cash or any other way to avoid the stupid service fee which isn’t posted at the entry gates either. How can a crook company get away with that? I pull in and the entry gate opens no problem (detecting my registered vehicle license plate and stored credit card info profile) and I get my text stating welcome to ***** ******* ******** etc. I go and park. Upon leaving, after pulling up to exit as stated, I receive my departure text as I pull up to the exit gate stating thank you for using the parking system (with a receipt link to click on with the finalized transaction) but the exit gate doesn’t open. Happened all 3 times. I’m currently having a huge fight with Metropolis who owns this horrible absurd broken parking system about this issue and provided dash cam footage of the long unnecessary delay having to wait for the exit gate to let me out. Very embarrassing when cars are behind me trying to exit as well. Turns out the vehicle in front of me experienced the same issue as myself. Get a better parking system. When many complain about the same issue then simply address it, have a corporate meeting and figure out a better resolution, then I’ll be glad to edit my review to a positive 5 star. Until then and constantly dealing with a nightmare sucky parking system that has lines of cars who have trouble getting out with gates that won’t open and causing the meter to rack up more parking time and higher rates for being “in the parking lot jail for more time than necessary”. Ridiculous.

I wish it was possible to give this company a zero star review. This is a scam of a company that intentionally makes it difficult to pay for a spot in their parking lots. When choosing the length of time you will be there, the site continuously zeros out the time and resets the screen. This was the only parking lot in the vicinity of the restaurant we were visiting or I would've parked somewhere else just based on the terrible disrepair found in this lot (huge potholes, couldn't see the lines marking the spaces, etc.). I received a Violation Summary from Metropolis that wasn't dated (wouldn't they think that would be an important piece of information?) and I believe that is by design so that when people receive this violation in the mail, they just pay it and go on. I WILL NOT be paying this violation. BEWARE of parking in any lot that is owned/run by Metropolis!

Metropolis Technologies is a scam. They provide little to no signage in their parking lots with instructions on how to set up an account to pay them. Then if you don't do that, they will photograph your license plate automatically and send you a bill for the parking, plus a $70 fine.

I have been falsely charged for staying overnight in a parking lot; however, I have proof/evidence that I didn't (i.e., dash cam video and mileage tracker software).
I submitted two tickets, #****** and #******, to the company's customer support, where I offered to provide and subsequently provided a portion of the proof (the ticket submission software wouldn't allow me to upload all of the evidence due to the file sizes; however, I offered to provide the additional proof but the ticket was closed with no explanation or resolution).
I requested the video footage of my vehicle, and I have not been provided that either. Additionally, I asked for each ticket to be escalated to a manager/supervisor and that they contact me; however, both tickets were closed without explanation, and the issue was not resolved.
Please provide me with a contact person at the company my attorney may contact.
