Unjust violation fees from Metropolis Parking. I parked in one of their lots in the Gulch on 7/15.23 due to working a job in a nearby building. I submitted my license information on the app, but realized my credit card had not been charged. I contacted them via email, (because I couldn't locate a working phone #) on 7/26 stating that I had not been charged. I sent them a copy of my receipt that stated $0.00 charged. They reached out and said I owed a violation fee of $90. I said I was trying to pay them, that's the reason for my email. They reduced the fee to $50. Wow, how gracious of them as I was trying to pay them and there was obviously a problem with the app or some other problem. I was trying to correct the problem. Regardless, I paid the violation fee and asked how much the parking fee was. The only response I received was "This case is closed." I kept emailing, but never received another response. On 8/8/23 I received an invoice in the mail for a fee of $90.25. A violation fee of $70.25 and a parking fee of $20.00. I again emailed the company. As of today, I have not received a response. I would like to resolve this issue, but have no intentions of paying them another violation fee of $70.25. What a ripoff.

Very unethical company. I had a problem with trying to input time for 1 hour, but eventually received a confirmation. Apparently their system only recorded the same time for both the entry and departure. When I returned to my car, I received a parking ticket for $86! I emailed the company and eventually they said they sent me a text notifying me of my time running out and to ask if I wanted to extend it (I never got this text). I offered to pay the 1 hour fee, but after multiple emails, they said that since it was my first offense, they would reduce it to $50, which I paid. After reading other complaints, this appears to be a pattern for first time users of their service. This is completely misleading and dishonest.

This company doesn't clearly price the parking rates and then sends you an excessive bill in the mail. They try to negotiate it down to $50 to resolve the matter. Seems like a repeated and intentional pattern.
There was no gate when I arrived the parking facility or way for me to pay. There is sparse information about how the payments work. If you don't sign up for the app within ten minutes of entering then you get hit with an $80 bill. This feels like a consumer trap. Truly unbelievable. Please intervene BBB

      Hi ***,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. I'm sorry to hear you had a poor experience at one of our facilities.

I would like to clarify that only parkers who used our services for longer than 10 minutes, and left a camera enabled facility without paying for their parking visit, will receive a violation letter. You do not automatically receive a violation letter if you have not finalized your account enrollment within 10 minutes of arrival.

I am following up with you via email with additional context, and why you received a parking violation. Thank you for your understanding, and have a wonderful day!

Absolutely horrible company. We were charged an absurd amount of money for 38 minutes of parking! There was NO INDICATION ANYWHERE of how much this parking garage cost. Price was NOT listed! $38.75 was absolutely highway robbery for 38 MINUTES of parking!

No clear pricing and not accurate according to website. Website says the parking is based on the amount of time the car is park and is timed by a pic of car coming in and leaving. I was there less than 1 hr. and was charged a $30 24hr flate rate

Horrible and unethical company to deal with! I had a problem with the web interface with trying to input time for 2 hours, so I put in for 1 ($18). I arrived late (1.5 hrs) and got a ticket on my care for $180. I found multiple articles online about this company and it's excessive overcharge for late times. I emailed the company and they pretty much ignored my explanation and said they sent me a text notifying me of my time running out and to ask if I wanted to extend it (I never got this text). After multiple emails, they said that since it was my first offense, they would reduce it to $50. I was so tired of dealing with them and their non-customer friendly response, I paid the $50. I will never park in their parking lots again in Nashville and would recommend you do not do the same if you don't want to pay an arm and a leg for any overages

These people are crooks. They charged us an $82 fine even though we were out of the parking lot within our allotted time. There's no way to dispute it and they threaten collections if it's not paid within 30 days. AVOID THIS COMPANY AND THEIR LOTS!!!

We paid $42 a day to park in a Nashville Metropolis lot. Received the daily confirmation emails saying we paid. Nothing was expired, we paid before the time expired and paid every day. 2 Months later our rental car company says they received violation notices from Metropolis for non payment. We have been trying to work with Metropolis via email and phone and they continue to ignore us. We have PROOF straight from them with receipts showing we paid, our credit card statements and they only replied once 3 weeks ago saying they are looking into it. I called last week and they said they will respond by days end. They still have not, I tried calling multiple times this morning and after being on hold for a while a message says they are unable to answer my call and to reach them via email. They are charging us almost $200 in violation fees for parking that we show proof of paying. We paid them over $140 for only 3 days of parking and now they want another 200 because their software is incorrect. I think they are very sneaky trying to charge people extra for parking, especially if we have a rental car as the rental car company will pay it and then charged the customer more and then they don't work with you to resolve it. Very frustrating and poor business practices by Metropolis.

Someone figured it would be best to set up a system where you need to use your phone in a parking garage with no signal.
This put me in a dangerous position were I needed to leave my car unattended while I ran to get signal. The barrier would not let me pass until I did this and there was no staff to assist.
This happened in Washington DC, which has one of the highest crime rates in America, where Motor Vehicloe Theft is up a staggering 120% from last year.
They do not care about you. Avoid at all cost.

We parked in a metropolis lot and paid by scanning the sign that had the QR code. It has cleared our bank and weeks later we are getting a violation stating that we did not pay. The fair for parking was $13.11 and the violation was $70.25 for a total violation of $83.36. Upon contacting them to dispute, they required me to send a receipt from their own website to prove payment. This business is a complete scam.
