Went into parking lot in Houston Texas and scan the code to pay and thought I was done. They didn't process the payment. And I got a notice I was in violation so the gave me a violation fee of 30.00 and parking fee was 9.00. I disputed it. And week later for no response. So I disputed it again and try emailed to say sorry we decline your dispute and there are no appeals. This company is a scam.

Same story as everyone else's. Parked in a lot in downtown Nashville so I could meet friends from out of state at the new ************** location...paid posted fee...got billed four months later with a $70.25 fee! I refush to pay this ...yet I am proud of my excellent credit record so hoping this really is a scam that won't get further escalated.

Absolutely corrupt company. Beware if you ever pay or even enter your information for free parking at any of their lots, they now have the ability to charge your payment method without authorization. I parked in one of their lots downtown for an event sponsored by the ******, and was told to not worry about paying for the parking because it was already taken care of. When I left I got a notification that metropolis had charged me $15.99 for under 2 hrs of parking. I found out they had my cc and license plate information saved from a previous time I parked in one of their lots. I did not sign up for an account and was forced to use their payment system from a previous parking experience. I did not authorize this charge and they were paid twice for the same vehicle. They refused to refund my money and told me "validations" must be applied before parking, and now that I left the lot, the visit was closed. There's a seat next to Hilter in***** for companies like these.

My recent experience with McKinley Payments is almost identical to others who have previously posted. Also very consistent with numerous complaints posted in other BBB venues, for example and especially *********, **. It is questionable whether the $70.25 "Violation fine" is a legal obligation in *****, however, at best, it's highly abusive; at worst, it feels like it should be fraudulent. I encourage anyone who has had this same experience with this firm, McKinley Payments, to contact their state senator or state representative; a legislative session starts January 1, 2023. This type of abuse should be illegal --- if it isn't already. [you may also want to contact the mayor and/or council members in the city where you live; they, too, may be able to stop this type of abuse] ---- BTW --- like others, when I received the notice for a car registered in my name but driven by my daughter and, all too often, her friends, I immediately offered to pay the $10 due. Heck, if they had said pay $20, I would have. $80.25 --- nope. Not going to happen.

I was issued a parking violation. The app defaulted to my second vehicle and I was parking my first. I spoke with a person on the phone that confirmed the information was entered and they saw the activity on my account. During the appeal they asked me to state when my license plate was changed and provide proof. I explained that I supplied the wrong car's data because it was already in the system. They ignored the point I made and that their own employee verified and told me I had to pay the citation anyway. Unbelievable.

NO STARS!!! Same issues as others. I have a handicap placard, I continue receiving invoices for $70.00, I have submitted request to their site 3 times, the telephone number is only there to tell you to contact them via their website. I advise people to completely avoid their parking lots. I guess next I will be receiving a collections notice or a notice of suspended license for non-payment Totally unacceptable.

Ditto. Daughter or one of her friends failed to pay $10 for 17-minutes during which, as best I can tell, they were waiting for a friend or food pick-up. [The car is registered in my name] I received the "Notice of Parking Violation Final Notice." I immediately responded with an explanation and offer to pay the $10. My "appeal" was denied with the statement "Dispute decisions are final and cannot be appealed." Their website does not allow for payment of any amount other than the "Total due" which includes the "Violation fine" of $70.25, a familiar amount to others who comments preceded mine. The notice also notes, "No checks or cash are accepted." Nonetheless, I am mailing a check in the amount of $10 to the address shown here; they can choose to accept it or not. "Scam" may be too harsh a term, however, their ability to collect beyond the $10 may not be a legally enforceable obligation in Texas. If you're a Texas resident and have had a recent bad experience with McKinley Payments, I encourage you to contact your state senator or representative; there's a session that starts on January 1, 2023; this type of abuse may want to be subject of hearings and legislation.

I had a similar experience to some of the users below. The signage was not adequate on our first trip to their garage. There was no way to know exactly how to pay. I'm not from the city and never use parking garages, but usually there's a kiosk to pay with credit card, but there wasn't an option for that. I received a bill with $70 worth of fees on it. I'm refusing to pay it and have disputed the claim due to improper signage and lackluster information. I received a response saying that it's denied and I can no longer dispute. Complete and total **.

This company demand to pay online the parking and fine 70 dollars over a 3 dollars parking. They denied my claim explaining the bad mobile signal on the store. Looks like a scam

The customer service is not willing to work in the event that games are cancelled. Other lots in the area are willing to discount or give vouchers. Considering this lot is 10-15 dollars above the average for surrounding lots, that is awful. Customer service did respond that 40 was the posted rate for the event but we were parked for a minimal time as storms came in and the game was postponed once we had parked. We asked if a discount would be given as we planned to park the next day and they said this is not possible and the posted rate was charged upon driving out of the lot.
