I parked at Metropolis in downtown Nashville. There is no attendant and no charges listed at this very basic and standard appearing outdoor parking. After you scan the QR code as instructed it notifies you that you will receive the price upon your exit. I was parked for 56 minutes and my card was charged a total of $57.54. $52.45 for parking and $5.00 in fees. This can’t be allowed to continue. I am a senior citizen and I feel totally taken advantage of as well as others that I feel were deceived at our expense. I guess the joke is on is however, I am writing to the BBB as well as the FTC. Please don't ever park at Metropolis’ parking lots. I wish that I had known.

Horrible, I drove through the parking lot to turn around and was charged $90. They stated and parked and left without paying. I just turned around. Now I can't get anyone to answer the phone so I will have my attorney send them a letter. They are a scam in book. I will not pay.

Was parked at a hotel lot managed by this company. Hotel got my plates on file so no payment for parking was necessary my reservation was for a whole week. In the middle of the week I got violations. Pictures can clearly see my plates but told the system cant see it due to the angle and shadow on the plates. I was charged 4 times for the same violation with the same time stamp. Used the dispute charges link and received no email back. Got a notice from collectors and contacted hotel to clear the charges. Now I got a a notice from a law office. Its a never ending circle with no clear resolutions. There is no contacting this company. Dont use this company.

I have an EV and a metropolis garage I used had a sign reading “paying for charging is paying for parking”. I left without paying metropolis because of that sign, and then was charged a $70 parking fine 3 weeks after I parked there. I had parked in the same garage 2 more times, so my total bill was over $300. I took a long time to figure out how to dispute, and once I did, I was completely disappointed with the service I was given. Kristine T both lied and tried to gaslight me the entire time, even when I tried to provide proof. They even tacked on an additional $5.99 “service fee” (which isn’t even the correct fee for the location). This company is a complete scam, avoid parking in their lots and garages at all costs.

Over the course of the past year since Metropolis has purchased the parking garage my apartment complex contracts with I have personally received 5 violations in the mail from them - 4 of which are due to their faulty equipment not registering I was parked in the resident area and another that showed photos of entirely different car but was somehow assigned to my license plate. The violations seem to be delayed as well taking more than a month in most cases to come via mail. Along with this I have had repeated issues with no response from the company due to constantly changing contact methods and generally poor communication regarding my validation QR code not working. On occasion the QR code seemingly applies to my guests total and then they end up being charged anyway or being sent a violation via mail. This is a monthly occurrence at at this point and while I have been able to resolve all of these violations totaling over $600 each time has taken repeated attempts and new methods of contact to do so. These occurrences along with the fact that only available rate is a flat rate of now $30 dollars a day regardless of time parked (raised from $20 flat rate) is substantially higher that street parking in the area is already a money grab they use greedy tactics to triple this total via their mailed violations and fees.

I have been contacted by a law firm and spoken to them twice about traffic parking violations from SP Plus. I not only don't drive the vehicle described, the tag number doesn't match any vehicle we own. AND, have never parked in the location that they claim where the 8 tickets have been issued in the last couple of years. It is impossible to contact the company directly to dispute and I just send a dispute email to the law firm. There is something very shady about this company and how they have my name and address is a mystery because it is linked to a vehicle that we do not own. Hopefully, this can be resolved soon but I am tired of dealing with this mess! From the looks of their rating, this is an ongoing issue. Shame on them!

After parking/paying and only 30 mins left on time , they send you a text to add time before original time is up , it shows your additional payment accepted and parking time extended, but never charges your card and issues you another full $40 charge for parking plus a $40 fine…total parking cost for maybe 6 hours $120….do not trust this parking company

This company is charging me a violation fee even when I paid for the parking. I parked at Austin-TX parking lot and paid for the parking using the totem in the parking lot, stayed for 30 min and got a notice of violation of $98.55. This is a scam. They are awful. They literally don't care about costumers.
I regret doing any business with this company.

I parked in the lot at **** Cherokee owned by them and the rate was around $12.00 for the day. I went to the kiosk to pay and ran my credit card but to pay you have to create an account which I did. When I finalized the payment, it would not process it; it had the turning wheel showing. I backed out thinking I could redo the process and it did the same thing but said I owed $60.00. I thought I had done something wrong so I tried again and this time it said I owed $48.00. I was late and took a picture of the phone number on the kiosk and would call them later to take care of the payment. I was only parked for 4 hours because I felt very sick and went home and to bed. The next day I called the number from the kiosk. I explained the problem and she said there was no record of my parking there but it might show up the next day. I asked her if I could pay the parking fee with her and she said no, that they would send a bill for the $12.00 plus a late fee of $48.00 since I did not pay at the time. I told her that was outrageous since first, I was only there for 4 hours and it was their fault the payment would not be accepted. I told her I would contest it and she said I could but it wouldnt do any good because they never reverse their charges. I said Ill wait to get the bill and I would definitely fight it even if I had to go to court. I waited for the bill and I NEVER got one. That day after I parked I got a call from my credit card company saying there were possible fraudulent charges on my account that were made on the same day I parked. They were for $1.99 and $1.49, or something small like that, made by this parking company. I explained to him what happened and he said hed seen this before and it was a SCAM! He reversed both charges and gave me a new credit card with a new number because they made these charges and enrolled me in a monthly payment plan. They now have a law firm trying to collect $66 from me or they will take me to court.

On Saturday, February 10, 2024, we were charged $32.10 at ******* ****** Lower located 625 Clinch Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37902 that is operated by Metropolis. This is a scan & park public parking lot. Their website clearly states $8.00 for 2 hours for this parking lot & the website also instructs how to insert the time length that you will be parked, however, once you scan then put in your credit card number, it automatically charges $32.10 & does not give an option to confirm charge or not. We called several times only able to leave voicemails with no return calls. Emailed Metropolis & their response was, at the time of our parking there was a flat rate in effect of $30.00 plus service fee & tax so the case was resolved & closed. This information was not listed on their website. We disputed charge again with Metropolis & also disputed charges with our credit card company. We ended up getting a refund of $20.10 from our credit card company.
