1 starI purchased my Chevrolet Bolt in July of 2023 and one of the selling points of the car is that I would receive free EV charger installation through Qmerit. I received a email from Chevrolet and filled out the required forms and attached the required photos. On July 6, I received a email saying that my request for installation had been received and someone from Qmerit would contact me shortly. On July 17 I called the customer service number and was told there was a terms and conditions form that I needed to electronically sign so I promptly did so. Since that time I have called the customer service number multiple times to get updates on this and the only response has been "We are still actively working on pairing you with an installer in your area. We appreciate your patience". I have been informed by Qmerit that there is no Qmerit installers in this area. I have received 8 Emails that say the same. They have even gone so far as to ask me if I know of any qualified electricians that would be willing to work for them. They make it seem as if I live in some backwoods country area that none of there installers would be able to reach which is not the case. There are hundreds of electrician businesses within 2 hours of my home, but they aren't qmerit and they are not offering free installation. I am almost certain that if Qmerit is a nationwide company, that there would be at least 1 certified installer that could travel here and back home in less than one day, my guess is that Qmerit does not want to pay a installer for travel. This seems like a scam where they offer you something for free if you purchase a product and then don't deliver on the free item. Its been almost 4 months now and no EV charger installation and no information as to the future progress of getting one. I'm sure the response from Qmerit will have some spin on it but it will not include any specifics as to when my charger will be installed as it was promised by Chevrolet.Review fromRich P

Qmerit is one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I needed a 220 line installed with a run of less than 10'. I had two (2) local installers quote me around $750. The Qmerit installer quoted me over $2100.00. Since I had a $1500 credit from Cadillac, this would have still cost me about the same if I had just contracted out locally. I was able to negotiate the price down. When I first expressed interest in using this service they were very responsive to me as a customer. Once I accepted the offer, it was like pulling teeth to get them to communicate what was going on. I had to initiate almost all responses. Eventually, after a month, the work was completed. The install was fine which I would suspect since I could have done this job myself if I was so inclined. Trust me, this job was not rocket science. I am totally shocked that with all the negative responses, that GM still uses this service. I will also be contacted Cadillac and GM to voice my displeasure. In summing up, be prepared for an over-priced, long drawn out affair.Qmerit

Hi, ****! Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback with us, as we always appreciate the opportunity to provide a 5-star experience and improve our services if we are not meeting those standards.
After reaching out to the contractor who installed your EV charger, we want to provide clarity as to the pricing situation and how it was rectified once the issue was determined.
The initial higher quote you received was due to an overestimation of the wire and conduit length needed, as the contractor utilized ****** Earth in lieu of a site visit to determine the estimated distance and length of materials needed. Once the true length and material was determined after speaking with you, the contractor adjusted the quote accordingly to reflect the actual distance and was able to ensure your installation was fully covered by your credit and qualified as a standard installation.
We sincerely apologize for the initial miscalculation on the distance and complexity of your installation and are diligently working to come up with a better way to help Qmerit contractors provide more accurate estimates based on the information we are given through the Home Charging Assessment to prevent any issues of this nature occurring in the future.
As for the communication, our records indicate that your concierge, *******, was very prompt in responding to any of your inquiries, as well as proactively reaching out to you with updates throughout the process.
While EV charger installation may seem relatively straightforward, all Qmerit certified installers receive the highest level of support and certification to ensure that all installations are delivered at the highest level of quality, safety, and efficiency. Improper wiring, using incorrect materials, and not being experienced with the unique requirements and specifications needed for EV chargers can lead to dangerous and expensive consequences.
We work hard to ensure that electrification is as seamless and safe as possible, and always strive to provide the high-quality service and support that has set us apart as an industry leader. While we are sorry to hear that you feel your experience did not meet this standard, we would be more than happy to further discuss your installation and determine how we can improve your experience moving forward.
Please don't hesitate to contact Qmerit at ****************************************** with any additional questions or concerns, and we hope you have a good day!Review fromRachel H

I purchased a ***** Bolt EUV in June 2023 with the promise of a free charger install & told that I'd be contacted in a few days of purchase. It took over a month for them to contact me via email to say they were working to match me with an installer. They sent an intake email to ask for information on where the charger would be installed. It was then that I learned my install wouldn't be free since I had a detached garage but they would cover $1k of the installation charge. I emailed them again the following week, they took another week to respond saying then that I was beyond their existing installer's service area and they were working to bring someone new on. They said if I knew of any local electricians to recommend to send them their way - I did not. Two weeks later, they emailed again to say they were still "working on" getting me matched with an installer. I asked if they could provide a list of electricians they contacted, they were unable to. I sent them a list of 8 local electricians to get the ball rolling. Two weeks later, no response from them so I emailed again saying I was frustrated that this has been taking almost 4 months now rather than several days. The following day they got the first person on my list of 8 scheduled to come out for a quote. That person quoted me $3600 to install through them which is absolutely insane so I declined the quote. Qmerit is refusing to find another installer for a second opinion and says this is my only option. I find it hard to believe they have even contacted anyone else. This has been a poor experience and they lack customer service and timely responses - leaving those of us with electric cars as our primary mode of transportation stranded with poor charging capabilities.Qmerit

Hi, ******! Thank you for taking the time to share feedback on your experience in working with Qmerit. It sounds as though you may have received inaccurate information from your dealership when you purchased your ***** Bolt EUV regarding the terms and conditions of the ***** Bolt promotional program with Qmerit, which you can find here: ******************************************************************************************* We sincerely apologize that you were not provided with this information by your dealership and understand how this could lead to a frustrating experience for you. Unfortunately, it sounds as though your information may also not have been submitted to Qmerit in a timely manner, as the initial intake email is automated and promptly sent once we receive this information. While we do have the largest network of certified electricians qualified for EV charger installations, there may still be areas of limited coverage, such as your location in *********, **. Relatively remote areas can make finding an installer quite challenging, as we must either locate a nearby installer willing and able to travel to your location or go through the rigorous process of background-checking, on-boarding, and certifying a local electrician to the area.Despite this, we believe our team has been proactive in communicating with you to keep you apprised of the progress and apologize if you feel this has not been the case.Once an appropriate installer was selected and able to evaluate the scope of your installation, they submitted a quote of $3,304. This quote included complex tasks such as trenching and panel reconfiguration, reflecting the difficult nature of the installation in a detached garage. We understand that you requested a list of all contacted contractors, but unfortunately, we are unable to share this information due to the structure of our business and ensuring all initial communication is streamlined through Qmerit's platform to guarantee your installation meets all necessary program requirements. We believe we have been actively assisting you with any questions or concerns regarding the current quote and installation process and are sorry to see that these efforts have not met your expectations as we diligently strive to provide you with a high-quality installation and excellent customer support. If there is anything else we can do to further support you or understand your needs, please contact us directly at ****************************************** so we can work toward a positive resolution together. Qmerit assigned my claim to a company and gave me incorrect contact info for them after taking my $150 deposit. Without a way to contact the company, I was forced to abandon my deposit. I never heard from them or the company they gave my information to.Qmerit

I would put zero stars if I could. I am a salesperson representing both the Chevrolet and ************** both of whom utilize Qmerit to fulfill promises made for these companies for charger installation and/or credits. I have both a ****** and Chevrolet client that are not being responded to in any manner from the company after weeks and weeks. The Chevrolet client was proactive in having their charger installed before picking up their vehicle. They had it done for about $500 and Qmerit, whom does not have installers in their area, won't follow-up with regard to reimbursement. The ****** client simply isn't hearing anything from Qmerit and, also in an area without Qmerit electricians, will probably also be very disappointed with the outcome. Come on Qmerit, this isn't this hard!As a salesperson representing all 3 brands, Chevrolet, ****** and Qmerit, they all are looking bad, and for no reason......follow-up and take care of your customers, do the right thing, just like we try to.Qmerit

This reviewer is not a customer of **************************** on this review from a dealership employee potentially writing on behalf of the experience of customers, we are unable to verify any information or assist Qmerit customers as we would need those customer names to find out what happened in each situation. Additionally, based on the terms and services for the ***** Bolt promotion, all installations must be performed by Qmerit-certified electricians and completed through the Qmerit installation platform to qualify for the program. While the proposed Chevrolet client was proactive in having their charger installed before picking up their vehicle, it sounds as though this installation was completed by an out-of-network electrician and is therefore not covered by Qmerit or under the promotional program.Qmerit does not reimburse any customer for an installation they had completed outside of our network and, based on the information provided, this potential customer would have been disqualified from the promotion. We are always happy to assist Qmerit customers and understand there can be delays in locating a certified installer for more remote locations or areas without coverage. Please note that when this occurs, we diligently contact members of our certified installer network to locate a nearby electrician who is able to travel to the installation location. For any questions or concerns, please contact Qmerit at ****************************************** as we are happy to assist Qmerit customers and will work to ensure all appropriate steps are taken to qualify for eligible programs. Purchased a new 2023 Bolt EUV and was pointed to a GM program to have a level 2 charger installed for up to $1000. GM uses Qmerit as the intermediary for the install. I submitted required paperwork and waited a week (5 business days) with no communication from them. I had to reach out to them and then was given the run around. On the 1st call I was told they are still looking for someone, no communication on there side to let me know this until I called. Was also told they would call me in 24hr to update me, of course that didn't happen. 2nd call I was told they are still looking and a representative is working the case "******************" and she would call me by EOD, again no call, I had to call again. 3rd call was told there are no in network installers in my area and they were looking and it could take weeks to months to find someone then who knows how long after that to get anything done. Yesterday I finally get a generic email from "******** M" that they don't have anyone in my area but are still working on finding someone. GM made a terrible mistake using this subpar company for this program. GM is tarnishing their brand by forcing loyal customers into this absolute dumpster fire of a company.Qmerit

Hi, *****! We are sincerely disappointed to hear that you were dissatisfied in your experience working with Qmerit for your at-home EV charger installation. We always strive to make electrification easy and are sorry to hear that this was not your experience after cancelling your installation within 8 business days of contacting Qmerit. When you initially contacted Qmerit for your installation on 9/13, we anticipated that the installation process might take longer than usual due to your more remote location in ******** and sincerely apologize if this was not more clearly relayed to you. While we do offer the largest network of certified electricians certified for EV charging installations, not all areas will have installers immediately available and, in these situations, we look for nearby installers who are able to travel to the location needed.Unfortunately, on 9/15, the employee managing your installation was unexpectedly out of the office due to a Covid-related illness, leading to a delay in our response. When you reached out on 9/20 for an update, the employee had returned to office but opted for an email response due to a sore throat. On 9/21, after your concerns about the prolonged wait, we explained that the delay was primarily due to your remote location. We understand that despite our active efforts to find a nearby installer, on 9/25, you ultimately decided to cancel the project and opt for the EVgo credit rather than an at-home EV charger installation with Qmerit, covered through the ***** Bolt promotional program. We sincerely apologize for the inconveniences and will utilize your feedback as we constantly work to enhance our services and provide our customers with the 5-star service Qmerit strives to achieve. Please don't hesitate to contact us at ****************************************** with any additional questions or feedback as we are always happy to assist. They are responsible for installing my electric car home charger. Their email automation is completely broken, none of it is optimized, and is riddled with typos. They refuse to sent out the third email required to say, yes, come install the thing Ive already purchased, but require that its checked yes for an additional time so I can schedule installation for something I purchased weeks ago and would like to be able to charge my vehicle quickly in my home. This company is an absolute joke and will not perform the service they are contracted to perform, leaving me to scramble in charging a brand new car.Qmerit

Hi, there! Our records indicate your survey was submitted on 8/1 and you should have received the Terms of Use via email on 8/1, 8/3, and 8/6. We did receive your acceptance on 8/8 and your project was sent to, and accepted by, an installer on the same day. Your installer is currently working to create an estimate for your installation, which can take up to 5 business days.It sounds as though you experienced issues when accepting the Terms of Use, and we'd like to know more about this situation to ensure there are no technical issues with this process. We appreciate the opportunity to investigate this further to ensure there are no future issues and kindly request you contact us as ******************************************* Thank you for reaching out and we look forward to further assisting you!Review fromJohn D

We signed up to be an installer for qmerit. Qmerit requires you to pay to get into their service network, they seem to charge $695 for some, and $1200 for others to enter their network. My experience was terrible, they sent me my first qmerit job after a few weeks in ******, although I couldn't make it as my service area is in ********. I then received another about a month later that was already completed over a year ago. After plenty of lip service from their upper management, I decided to ask for my sign up fee be reimbursed, and *************************** said he will get the ball rolling. Months later, and a couple emails to see where things stand, I've got nothing. This company in my opinion isn't what they say they are. Do not sign up to be an installer for Qmerit, your patience will not pay off.Qmerit

Hi, ****! We appreciate you taking the time to further speak with senior executives last week to address your concerns and are pleased we were able to come to an amicable resolution. We do offer a tiered partnership program for contractors based on the level of integration the electrical contractor joining the Qmerit network hopes to achieve within the electrification movement. There was a technical glitch in January, during which projects were incorrectly assigned. This was immediately corrected once the issue was discovered, as we work diligently to provide the highest level of service and support to our customers, partners, and contractors and understand how this could be a challenging situation. We understand that joining the Qmerit contractor network wasn't what you were looking for at this time, however we look forward to working with you again in the future. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any additional questions, as we are always happy to assist. Thank you!
