I was on a local site I went to check out and some how this ticketsales.com site got on the venue page and when I entered my information thhey got it and sent me a receipt for 3xs the amount. I have never heard of this place before! Never have I ordered from here no idea how they got access to the site I was on. I believe they hack into other sites to take peoples credit card information. I am not alone so many people say they where on a site and when it says enter card goes to these people!Customer Answer

I was on a different site ordering tickets to a local venue apparently this company is hacked into them somehow. The venue says enter card information shows you agree to pay the ticket price you click okay then this crazy site charges you an extra 100 in fees. If this was the orginal site I thought I was at and they said do you agree to pay an extra 100 I wouldn't of agreed! They can't hide fees and not disclose an amount further more I drive to the local venue and they said these tickets they supposedly sent are bogus and not valid!. The company doesn't provide and address just email and text and a phone number. I immediately called this company and asked them why is this I never agreed to pay that amount and they said oh well! I am not alone many many complaints same thing them pretending to be a local legit site. The place is TicketSales.com says out of ******* ** but I can't find them. I spoke to *************************** at the venue and she said you guys can contact her directly as well and she can verify these tickets will not work! I've enclosed multiple other reviews similar and I'm not even sure if this is the right BBBBusiness Response

We bought 2 tickets at $92 each for a show in June **************************************************************************** good faith. When I paid, with fees it showed ****** for the 2 tickets. I viewed my receipt in my email which still showed 175$ and no sign that this was in usd pricing but noticed the credit card was charged 245$. I then noticed that this was not the vendor's website but a third party, so my $175 tickets are now almost $250$. Borderline fraud or theft in my books. A search online indicates that this company offers zero refunds no matter what! This should not be allowed. This is misrepresentation and an infringement on peoples trust in honest business dealings-shame on you.Business Response

I went online to purchase *************************** tickets at ****** ************** in ****** **. The ticket price for 2 tickets was shown as $743. When I hit buy it came up as over $2,000. First the total price per ticket including all the fees are not shown before you hit Buy and the fact that it was $743 per ticket was in tiny print. There was no total shown before you select Buy. I immediately called Ticket Sales and they refused to do anything. I am a senior citizen (72 years old). The fact that you can call within 30 minutes of making a purchase which was not shown correctly and then refuse to cancel is fraud. I am filing a complaint with my credit card company and CPFB. I called ****************** where the event is being held and they said that only tickets purchased through them are valid. When you ****** ************** only "TicketSales" appeared which gave the impression they are a valid ticket seller. I want a full refund for this fraudulent purchase.Business Response

I was wanting to order some tickets for an upcoming concert. I went to the venue website and clicked on "buy tickets" button and was directed to a what I believed was the venue's ticket sales. I entered in the number of tickets I wanted (three), and there was several pricing options. I chose the one for $192.00. When I optioned to purchase, the invoice stated I paid $773.76. The invoice I saw was 3 tickets for $192.00, not $192.00 each. I was surprised when I found out that this was a third-party seller. I did not believe that I was purchasing this from a third-party; I believed I was purchasing these tickets from the venue. I immediately tried to cancel this with ticketsales.com, and was told that I was obligated to the tickets, and that I agreed with their terms. I was told by their robot that I could resell the tickets to recoup the money. This company is using deceptive practices and scamming people who are wanting to purchase tickets directly from the venue.Business Response

I am so infuriated by my experience with this company. I bought 2 tickets at $83 apiece, and the total came up to $250!! Hidden fees, and I believe they taxed me on those fees, that they won't show you until AFTER you submit your order, and the fees just magically show up on your receipt. The fees actually arent itemized on your receipt; you have to dig back into your account on their website to see what they charged you extra for. After i saw my purchase total, I instantly went to customer service to ask to cancel the sale while it was still pending, and the customer service rep basically copy-pasted to me of their terms of use. I.e., you agree to any and all fees, etc. when you submit an order. The company gives no forewarning or indication of the fees, how theyre calculated, e.g., % of the pre tax purchase value before the purchase is finalized. While it may be legal (may??), in terms of trapping you into their terms of use, it is exploitative and predatory.Business Response

On 2/28/2023 after the customer selected the ticket listing they desired for *************, they were directed to the checkout page. Here, the customer was provided a detailed order summary on the right-hand side that displays the event details, ticket location, and price per ticket. Our customer was prompted to provide an email address and select a delivery method. After a delivery method was selected, since methods vary in price, a new order total was calculated. A complete itemized breakdown of our customers order including the price per ticket, all fees, and the total price of $250.28 was displayed in bold text on the right-hand side of the page. This information was fully disclosed before our customers are asked to enter any payment information. Below this order summary, there is a disclosure indicating: Please note: We are a secondary marketplace, not the primary seller. Ticket prices may exceed face value. Customers are then presented with our terms and conditions, including the statement: To complete your order, you must agree to the sales terms and conditions and confirm that you have reviewed the Order Summary above. All prices are listed in US Dollars. All sales are final. Our customer was required to select a check box signifying their agreement to these terms and the statement, I agree to the sales terms and refund policy listed above and acknowledge that this site is a resale marketplace. 1. Was not aware I was purchasing tickets from a reseller, I thought it was directly from the venue box office. 2. They implied that tickets were selling out quickly however there are plenty tickets still left at much lower pricing directly from the box office. Prices on this site were 2x to 8x more than list price. (see pop up screenshot uploaded)3. The ticket price showed at $103 per tickets however fees were added to the price without my knowledge so that after my credit card was run it showed a total of $274 for 2 tickets. (see screenshot just prior to credit card processing, no other order suymmary screen occurs).4. These tickets are still available from the box office for $65 per ticket.Business Response

Ticket sales.com sold me fraudulent tickets to a local event and I found out at the event that they overcharged me by 250$ for the tickets. I purchased the tickets to a just for laughs comedy event, got to *************** and was denied entry. The tickets were invalid, and when the event manager and I looked at the tickets they didn't match up with anything that was confirmed to be purchased for. The email had all The correct information for the event but when we opened the e-tickets they had different act name and time but at the *** revenue. They had no listing for me at the venue for any event and said I wasn't the first one. Paid over 360$ for the fraudulent tickets, but luckily the event organizer had some tickets available for only 90$Business Response

This company used deceptive practices to scam money from me. I never saw the face value of the tickets. It was made to appear I was paying $85 dollars total for 5 tickets. It was deceptive in that I did not see the total $555.75 until after the purchase was made. I immediatly tried to cancel and was told all sales final. I received 5 tickets with a face value of $25 dollars each. I was charged $425.00 dollars for those tickets PLUS a sevice fee of $123.25 and a delivery fee of $7.50. I am disputing through PalPal as wellBusiness Response

I am rejecting this response because: the final sales notice appeared that I was paying $85 dollars for the tickets instead of $500 plus. I'm not disputing the actual ticket sales its the gross upcharge and fees that are more than 4 times the price of the actual tickets. It's called gouging and diversionary sales tactics. In doing an on line search it appears I'm not the only person scammed by this company . It is the BBB's job to protect the consumer from unscrupulous companies tactics and I hope they take not only my complaint but the host of many others as a whole to investigate this company and put an end to this behavior. BTW. The tickets at the gate were discounted $2 ($23 total) at the gate. The gouging all went to this scammer company.

Thank you for this additional response. We appreciate the opportunity to further address our customer's concerns. We would like to reiterate that TicketSales.com is an online resale marketplace. Directly on our site it states "TicketSales.com is a trusted secondary marketplace. Prices set by sellers may be above or below face value." Due to the nature of our business on the secondary marketplace we act as an intermediary between customers and sellers. As such, all tickets on our site are priced by the individual seller, not TicketSales.com, based on their personal assessments regarding a range of factors including customer demand. As previously stated, a courtesy refund of the service fee applied to the order has already been provided. These funds were remitted to the original method of payment as of 4/21/2023. However, we maintain that all order details and relevant terms in question were sufficiently displayed prior to the customer placing their order. As such, the order does not currently qualify for additional compensation and we consider this matter closed. If our customer has any additional concerns we welcome them to contact our customer service department.
