I need this company to cancel services and to stop billing me for services that I do not want and will not use. I emailed them on Jan 3rd, ************************************************ a packet to complete saying that I am closing my business which is not correct. I emailed them before the next bill but now I see they continue to charge my card for $228.00. I initially started services with them on December 11th and once I logged in to the system I realized it was not what I needed. I did not ask for a refund when I emailed them, but instead just requested to cancel so that I would not keep getting charged for something I wouldn't use. Now that they continue to charge my card, I want a refund for all charges including the initial one.Business Response

Hello, we were finally able to speak with our client today and go over our findings. We advised how the product works as well as the importance of our client attending the onboarding meetings. These meetings allows our client to confirm and provide certain information related to their business which will ensure the success of the advertising. Our client had not attended these meetings and was unclear on how to use the software. We confirmed the advertising had been canceled, as requested by our client with the termination date of 02/11/2025, which is 30 days from the date of request per our Terms and Conditions.
After a lengthy conversation with our client, he confirmed he is satisfied with our resolution and requested his Sales team contact him next week so they can work towards getting the advertising reinstated. We appreciate the BBB in allowing us this opportunity to work with our client and reaching a resolution. Thank you.

Thryv for the real yellow pages. They sent us a bill, we told them that the person addressed the bill was no longer with us and we are a different business now. Similar name but a different business. They made us pay a bill then continue to send us bills and have now sent said bill to a collection agency. We have told them contiuesly that *** no longer works here and we don't want their service. I emailed them today to say that if they continue to harrass us we would contact the BBB. They have now called us 5 times this morning stating 'we contacted them to request their services and to contact them to discuss'. Weve contacted by phoen to ask them to stop. We filled out their paperwork that *** is no longer here and we are a different business. This harrassment has to stop.Business Response

Thank you for allowing us to attempt to reach out to assist the client with their concerns. The concern was the person that was advertising with us was not longer with the company. The company name had changed although it was very similar. We attempted several times to speak with the client to discuss but could not. Thank you for allowing to resolve this once more with the client. When there is a change of ownership, our process is to send the proper paperwork to allow the new owner to determine if they are taking over the advertising or not. If not, the responsibility falls back to the previous owner. We sent that paperwork and was advised this was not a new owner situation just that the previous person just left the business. In the latest response they advise it was previously owned by someone else. We have closed and settled the account by removing the unpaid balance. Thank you for allowing us to reach out to our client to discuss a resolution for their concerns. The concern is the auto renewal of the Lafayette Area Wide phone book that renewed in October 2024. The client contacted is in December 2024 to advise the business had been sold and wanted to ******. We advised the phone book had auto renewed as we were not contacted to cancel prior to the new publication, per our Terms and Conditions attached. The request to cancel the next publication has been placed.
We did explain our process when a business changes hands and offered to share that with the new owner and if they accepted the responsibility, the billing would move to the new owner. The client advised the new owners do not advertise in the phone books and would not want it.
We then advised we had attempted to contact them concerning the renewal by mail, email and correspondence on their monthly billing. In the attachment Renewal Notice Email we provide a screen shot showing the date the renewal notice was emailed to the contact on file, **** ********. In the attachment "Contact Information" you will see the email on file for **** ******** is ******************** In the attachment "Renewal Notice on August ********* you will see the notice that was printed in red on the monthly invoice. We also mailed a letter concerning the renewal in attachmentment ""Mailed Renewal Notice".We did submit a settlement offer with the client of 50% off the remaining charges for the phone book term. However, they still dispute the renewal and declined the offer. We did advise the offer will remain open if they choose to accept later.

Our business has tried to cancel the "marketing" services that are being provided by Thryv for over a year but were continually ignored. We were not given renewal notices or chances to update advertising information for several years prior to our decision to cancel. This company behaves similar to the real yellow pages schemes and other mailed invoices for mystery services. You rarely can get someone on the phone and when you do they will not listen to you or allow you to cancel their services.Business Response

THIS COMPANY IS AWFUL! In October out of the blue, our company received a call from a virtual business advisor from Thryv. He stated that he wanted to go over our account and see if he could help our advertising. After a call with him I realized that they had our company business listed completely wrong and had been that way for years. He mentioned that he was unable to change our listing because we had past due balance. Which seemed odd since we pay our bills. After several calls I realizedthat they had recently changed there billing system and we were no longer receiving paper bills or invoices through email because their new system pulled old information. We have been in business for over 52 years and it had pulled old names and our old address and even an old email addresses. This whole process was a nightmare to try and figure out and try to get information from this company. I dealt with phone calls and emails for about a month. Finally, I called Thryv on 12/2/24 and cancelled the service all together since we were listed incorrectly and never received good "leads" from them anyway. We paid our outstanding balance but with hesitation. WE RECEIVED A PAST DUE INVOICE on 1/1/25 for dates 11/28/24-12/28/24. I emailed Thryv customer service on 1/2/25 and 1/8/25 asking to have this reviewed since we cancelled on 12/2/24. No emails were ever answered. Even after a message shows up stating the email we will be reviewed with 48 hours. I called on 1/14/25 and spoke with an "analyst" she stated that we had to pay the whole balance for dates 11/28/24-12/28/24 since we cancelled within the 30 day billing cycle. I explained to her that we were not happy with their service anyway and asked if she could adjust or pro rate the balance. She said she was unable to pro rate or adjust anything. I don't feel that I should have to pay a balance for 3 weeks after I cancelled their services. I think this company is a ****.Business Response

Hello, we have spoke with our client regarding her concerns over the date of termination and the billing. We advised this advertising was migrated to our new billing system, which notification emails were sent out in August 2024. to the primary contact listed at that time. The email address belonged to our client's father who had passed, so she was unaware and had no access to this information. During our conversation we reviewed the billing in question and confirmed it was for services that was before the termination was request. I was advertising with Thryv. They contacted me and wanted to raise my advertising cost I agreed to a to pay more for my service. A couple of months went by and I contacted them. I told them that something was wrong with the advertising. No calls were coming in. For the next two months they told me everything was okay on there end. I told them that something was wrong. Please look into this. No calls were coming in at all. Over the next two months I contacted them continuously. Over and over I told them my advertising was not turned on. After 6 months I was completely in a rage. They still told me that everything was okay. Over and over I complained. Finally someone contacted me and said that they just didn't have it turned on. They tried giving me a couple of hundred dollars. In credit only. After a long battle with them I received about $900.00. dollars. I lost over 6 months of business and well over $1500.00 in advertising cost. I went to another company to help me. Thryv erased all of my history with ******. Not only did they cost me large amounts of money from loss of business, they also did much more damage to me for my future advertising. ****** was not able to help me. The prior issues with the listings have already been corrected and ****** received credits based on the invoice balances for the period. After speaking to the client, we have confirmed the time his advertising went down and all funds charged to him during this timeframe were refunded. We have discussed his advertising in detail regarding it being active, contacted ****** (due to his statement we erase history) and ****** advised our company theres no record of any advertising for the past 13 years and the information we have is correct.
Due to him being a long-time client, we offered another adjustment for covering the full 2024 advertising year which he declined. We went over the changes in price as he stated in his claim. These changes were due to him wanting to change his advertising so he could receive more leads. Each change was authorized by our client. Our client has continued to refuse any resolution to resolve this issue, even when it was above and beyond any normal policy. He continues to be argumentative, making constant slurs and comments to the point he does not want to accept anything we offer. When I was responding last week I accidently hit the wrong button. The system would not let me change it. Thryv continues to misdirect BBB about everything. This company shut off my advertising for over 6 months. Over and over I told them. They had every excuse and false answers. They even told me that it was my fault that the advertising was not working. There was no advertising. I ask that this complaint be reopened. People and businesses need to be aware of this company. To the BBB. I'm ** ******** owner of *.******** plumbing and mechanical. I never told Thryv that I wasn't interested in trying to settle this dispute. If someone doesn't agree with what they say,they simple act like and spin the response as the complaining company is the bad guy. Keep in mind that everything I have said that was done to me by Thryv,has been done. I never knew what kind of company I was dealing with. The same way they tell BBB things to appease them, is the exact same thing I experienced. I did nothing but agree to a higher cost amount for my advertising. Thryv turned off my advertising and simple did not turn it back on. After years of being with this company, they were causing me significant loss of income so they could charge me more money. I have been in busness for over 40 years. This company is by far the worst experience I have ever had. They would sell their mother for money. To BBB beware of the harm and misery Thryv does to customers. You are looking at pure Evil.

I purchased a Company the end of 2023. Thryv is billing me for 2 different companies. The initial order they supplied has a different company name than the company I purchased. Good Morning. We were able to speak with our client Mr. ****** this morning regarding his concerns over the print advertising and the change of ownership. We went over all advertising documents we had in our system and were able to confirm *************************** did have advertising in the telephone directory. This advertising matched the copy sheets for this business and not the other business listed on the 2020 ***************** Agreement. This advertising was for the 2023 issue which was also confirmed has been canceled with no auto-renewal. We cancelled our services with Thryv due to their software simply not working at all for our company. They did stop all payments but chose to lock our business information to them. We have tried multiple times to have them release our information from companies like **** to no avail. We cannot update our online presence due to not being affiliated with thryv any longer. I have reached out to Thryv multiple times due to this over the last several months and they refuse to fix this. The fact that they are trying to force companies to rebrand out of spite due to the fact that THEIR software couldn't even properly send out emails is insane. Our business, The Bikesmith, has been with The Real Yellow Pages for the last 12 year. The digital webpage we are paying them for has the wrong business number *************) which is costing us tons of business. The Yellow pages hard copy book has the correct phone number *************) so I know for a fact we did not give them an incorrect phone number. In addition, we have had the same phone number for the last 20+ years and would have never given them the incorrect phone number which you can clearly see in the photo I have attached. After numerous calls to ************** I have gotten nowhere. Their customer service agents are not available, and I am forced to leave a message to which I never get a response. I'm very unhappy shelling out good money for an add listing that has the incorrect business information. This has cost us an untold amount of business to which we may never get back. We have trusted the Real Yellow Pages to deliver us customers and they have failed. In late November we noticed that the phone number was wrong, and have been trying to get a hold of a representative since. I have no idea for how long the number for our business has been wrong. This may have been an issue for years, I have no idea as we trusted the Yellow Pages to be competent. We pay roughly $530 per month for this ad listing and are just flushing our money down the drain at this point, not to mention loosing business.Business Response

I do not accept the business response as it fails to adequately address my concerns.
We specifically asked for confirmation via email pertaining these issues:The business has not provided written confirmation that the unauthorized tracking number has been permanently removed from my account and that the text solicitation feature associated with it has been completely disabled.
The business has not provided written confirmation that all future print advertising, including any scheduled beyond September 2026, has been officially canceled.
