I would like to start off by saying that I was not aware this was a budget airline. First off customer service is horrible; from booking to the stewardesses. When booking I was asking for help because our seats for 6 were changed, this was not our fault since we had pre picked our seats already. No help and just tried to upset our tickets, unlike the other airlines which would usually help and set families together. On our flights the flight attendants were rude and kept pulling on people's seats (accidently), I don't know how you do that more than once specially if this is your job. Then there was no food service on a four hour flight, not even to buy. And the food prices were ridiculous. Then on our last flight we were tired and struggling with the kids, the flight agent decided to make the comments "hurry up you guys are holding up the line". As if that was going to make us go faster. This has been a horrible experience and as I said I did not know this was a budget airline to where they try to upsell for everything. AA you do not compare to united, your comparator is frontier or jet blue- but at least theyre honest about them being a budget airline and their prices upfront. Not only that but they actually have good service.

Would give 0 stars if possible. My fianc is going to miss a full day of her bachelorette party in ****** because they cancelled her flight this morning. The cancelled a 7 AM flight at midnight the night before citing bad weather. It is clear skies in ****** and clear skies in ****** right now. They classified it as a weather cancellation so that they are not responsible for hotels/*******/etc. just another fraudulent airline move. Fly any other airline

On June 9, 2024, my wife and I were scheduled to fly with American Airlines from the **** to ******, ***** (via DFW) for a once-in-a-lifetime 10-day trip we had planned for many months. The evening before our 5:20 AM departure, American Airlines canceled our flight with very little noticejust as we were preparing to go to bed in order to get to the airport on time.We immediately contacted American Airlines and spent over an hour on the phone, but were told no rebooking options would get us to ****** without missing a full day of our trip. We had already paid for non-refundable hotels, airport transfers, and tours in both the **** and *****. These expenses were lost due to the cancellation, and we were extremely disappointed to lose valuable time during such a meaningful trip.We submitted a formal complaint through Americans website and received only an automated apology. We followed up by replying directly and kindly requesting compensation for the disruption and financial loss. Despite being respectful and providing full contextand offering to share receiptswe never received a proper response. Just another automated message. We hope that this can be seen as sincere, we would like to regain faith in booking flights through american airlines. We are requesting fair compensation from American Airlines, such as travel credit or reimbursement, and are turning to the BBB because weve been unable to get a meaningful response directly.

Horrible is an understatement. First time flying dont know all the ins and outs. My group number was different from my daughters who is 18. Her group was behind mine. They called my group I got on plane. I noticed no one else was getting on plane and then they started closing the doors. My daughter was still in the terminal waiting not knowing what was going on. I asked why my family wasnt getting on and they said the plane was full? There were numerous seats available. So after that traumatizing moment they let me off plane to be with my daughter. We end up being stuck for 2 more days. Then they sent my baggage to the destination ai was originally suppose to be and I was without my stuff. It was horrible! Then we didnt have any other choice but to take some flight vouchers are not able to use and never offered us a refund for our ticket.

Was supposed to fly from ****** to ***************. Flight delayed and no notification. Multiple flights delayed, many people affected. Apparently at least 2 planes had mechanical issues. At least 3 flights were delayed or cancelled. Ultimately able to find a flight to ******* and then would have to drive 2 hours to destination. On top of it my new flight to ******* delayed, with very tight connection and small airplane is used which means bags have to be valet checked and collected on arrival, wasting more time. Concerning that at least 2 planes have mechanical issues and small planes are being used. Would not recommend to family and wouldn't fly American unless absolutely necessary. On the plus side the gate agents were very helpful. Date June 22, 2025

I'm not happy with your guys airline my kids were supposed to come home yesterday June 21st but instead they missed your plane and nobody could help them. And one of their airplanes had a delay because of maintenance issue which they could have the kids be directed to a different flight. New airline better get your s*** together cuz now you guys are having an issue that you can't shut the door and my kids is airplane right now get it together.

Despite being a long-time customer and ******************** member, my recent experience with American Airlines was extremely disappointing and mishandled. On May 16, 2025, my flight (AA2764) was abruptly canceled while I was already at the airportwith no viable rebooking options until several days later. This last-minute cancellation forced me to extend my stay in ******** and spend over $3,900 on new travel arrangements, hotel, meals, and ground transportation just to return to work. I reached out to American Airlines Customer Relations multiple times with clear documentation and a reasonable request for partial reimbursement or a travel voucher ($500$1,000).Each time, I received templated apologies and a token ***** bonus miles, which comes nowhere close to addressing the financial and professional impact I endured. I was even told on the phone that my case would be escalated to senior leadership, yet I've received no meaningful follow-up or *********** make matters worse, other airlines like United offered $900 cash compensation to passengers whose flights were only delayed that same daywhile American has done nothing for a full *************** sharing this here to urge others to think carefully before relying on American Airlines for time-sensitive travel. They fall short in customer accountability and provide no recourse when things go wrongeven in clear-cut, avoidable situations like this.

American Airlines is the worst. They always have delays and are canceling flights all the time. If you get a flight and you need to connect to another, you will probably miss it. There planes are in the worst shape, and the stewards don't do anything either. I've flown with this company before and I won't do that again. I'm tired of them being incompetent. My last flight was late. I missed my connecting flight to ********. American Airlines only goes there once a day. How ridiculous is that. Don't fly this airline, spend a little more and use a different one. This company is terrible. Our plane was called delayed even though it was at the gate. We were to take off at 6 and we were all trying to figure out a different path. Then they said it was ok. It still took them over 2 hours to figure it out and they finally told us some ridiculous story about an attendant that was ill. This airline is terrible. Don't fly American Airlines. Then our luggage was lost and we had to drive 6 hours to ******** and our rental blew a tire. That is another review on enterprise rental car. This vacation started out bad. Don't fly American Airlines. And don't use enterprise rental cars. Both companies ****.

I spoke with Agent ***** from American Airlines, who was unable to assist me and refused to connect me with a supervisor. He mentioned that my eligibility to speak with a supervisor was restricted because I did not purchase a lower-priced fare to upgrade from a first-class ticket. His manner was rather discourteous and unprofessional, which has impacted my confidence in their customer service. As a result, I am considering changing my flight and reassessing my future travel plans with American Airlines.
