      My 79 year old mother booked a first class ticket to ***** and unfortunate broke her hip and American Airlines will not refund her ticket. In her words this was her last trip and this really upset her. We even had the doctor write a medical letter that I submitted. I will NEVER fly American again!

      The one star is for the customer service agent I talked to on the phone that was actually helpful (******* or Devarus). Otherwise there would be none. I had a flight from *************** to ******* it keps getting delayed and the above mentioned agent helped me get a sooner flight to ****** and to ******** (my final destination). The gate changed last minute in ****** and since I only had my paper boading pass i almost missed the flight. My return flight was also delayed (due to maintenance the agent said when i called) to the point I would have to stay overnight in ******* (I am a young woman who rarely travels and has no relatives in that area so this was not an option for me) I was rebooked to a flight leaving the next day at 6. I arrived as the airport at 5 and was told baggage claim already left. So an agent said I could go through security to try and make my flight or rebook to a flight with a 3 hour layover in *******. I went through security and despite people saying they wanted me to go ahead of them *** or security wouldn't allow it. I get to the ramp at 550. And the agent there informed me that they locked the doors 15 minutes early and she couldn't let me onto the flight. At this point I'm hysterical and she says she can rebook me to the next flight with the 3 hour layover. I look at my phone and there is a flight that would leave for ****** and then arrive at *************** earlier than the Chicago flight. The agent rudely informed me that "since I missed the flight on my own that I had to take a flight to *******. " I did and when I arrived I went to get a meal voucher (since the agent I called the day prior said I was liable to get one) i was denied because the flight was listed as delayed due to air traffic despite being told it was due to maintenance. When I mentioned the phone agents name that told me I should receive a food voucher I was told nothing could be done and the person must have been mistaken. I wouldn't recommend this airline to anyone .

      I have been trying to get reimbursement for over a month for expenses incurred due to two delayed flights. I have spent hours on emails and phone calls, had to open three separate cases, and still no resolution. I would not recommend this airline and will not be using it again. Separately, they lost our luggage and when it was returned halfway through our trip, it was damaged.

      My dad died I needed to get a ticket for the funerals I had flight credit so I used it and then the system said thank you for your purchase. I waited for an email it never came. I called them they gaslit me. The new ticket costed way more than the old ticket. I called them to complain they werent even kind on the phone. Told to file a complaint online in August it will be a year and Ive never heard back from them.

      Typical of a company that only knows how to waste time, either by land or air, dont expect to get there! Shout out to Yunier at *********** for giving us attitude and no help at all. flight got delayed because of american airlines and we were rebooked but absolutely no compensation was given.

      I give a one star on check bags only when trying to upgrade. To customers. I suggest, if you are always in between selecting coach, main plus, or first class, NEVER precheck your bags as if you do, and you decide to upgrade to a main plus or first class from Coach, American Airlines will not refund you all the money you spent on paid bags. Thats an outrage as I was going to upgrade but, when the representative informed me I would still be held accountable for pre checked paid bags I was like never mind leave me in my seat. American Airlines could have made more money off my seat upgrade however, their greed at ever turn brought a swift end to that! So customers, check your bags in the last day before departure or when you arrive at the airport!

      The worst customer relations ever! If you ask to speak to supervisor via only way to contact America they hang up on you. Absolutely impossible to discuss w a live person. Lost bags and missed an entire trip and they come up w non personal ways to get you to talk online via chat which is a joke. Now they come up w needing new file numbers and confirmation numbers and bag numbers( all of which they should have) all to avoid helping customer. I am booking a trip for 24 and will do everything I can to avoid this poor excuse for a business. Employees I have been in contact are so much different than Delta. Such a uncaring group!

      **** poor customer service Miss my flight due to poor training At the airport at 2:30 am for 5 am flight Kiosk didn't work for many folks Have to be rescheduled for another flight out 10 hours longer If american Airlines knew they had back up at customer service, boarding should had been notified of more passengers I will never ride on the airline again At lease 85 folks in line only 3 agents assisting. I will never fly american Airlines again

      Canceled a flight due to weather. Now my mom will be stuck alone at an unfamiliar airport with no compensation or accommodations. Horrible business model. Ending my aa advantage asap

      I would not advise anyone to book Thur American Airlines I made the mistake of doing so and pay for a round trip ticket only at a price of ******* only for my mom to be murdered while on the trip. My flight had cancellation protection. I had to cancel my return flight home to deal with a funeral and American Airlines issued me a flight credit which I used to book returning flight at later date . After doing so and getting confirmation number over the phone i never received email with new information. Only to wake up and enter the confirmation number on the website and see flight was canceled. I was ripped off
