Im getting calls to myself and a family member regarding a payday loan. I have no recollection of this loan. They have nothing to show me that this exists but sent me an agreement for ****** to pay in 3 installments. I havent paid it because I dont know if its legit.Business Response

I received a phone on 01-25-24 from a company that stated they were a mediation company working for ******* Ez money. The lady did not identify herself, the company name, or that they were a debit collector at the beginning of the call, that information was given later in the call when i pressed. The lady who called stated that I had taken out a pay day loan and that it had not been repaid, She told me that because of this I was looking at being sued for as well has having all my accounts frozen. I asked her for information about the account she was calling for because I had no knowledge that this existed. She stated that they had my Social security number, birthdate, employer and addresses. I then asked here again for information such as the date this said loan was taken out, the location, the amount and any other information since I had no knowledge. I also asked her why i have never been notified about this until today. She stated that she had a whole file on me and that they had been trying to contact me. And that their office was given the account when it was charged off May, 28. 2019. She said she sent me an email with the information I had requested, Email went straight to junk mail and flagged as fraud. I told her to send a copy of all information on file to the address they have on file and I hung up, She called me back from a different number being very rude, and stated that if I did not agree to the settlement today I would be sued. She also stated that I would receive a copy of all information the day of court. I keep getting harassment phone calls from another company (ECN ) that claims they are acting on behalf of EZCORP for an installment loan of $700 in July of 2015.I told them I have never taken out a loan They told me that EZCORP has a judgement against me in the courts and the amount is now $1680. and if I refuse, they will begin to garnishes my wages and bank accounts. But if I pay the $700 the judgement will be thrown out. They have where I work, my social security number, old banks account numbers and the orginal loan papers with my signature on them. They would not provide me with hard copies nor provide me with a physical address of their company or with any other information on this account because they state they have no idea about the nature of it is. I have been hung up on when calling them to get more information and have been told that they will only email and if they email it, that will count as a conformation that I will pay. They also call from all different numbers, and they come up as local numbers in my state but in fact they are all stemming from ***********, **. The latest is text messages to my phone again with different numbers to call and if I do not response by the end of the day my account will be frozen for payment. They have since started harassment of other family members leaving them vicious voice mails and text messages. I have searched all my credit reports and there is nothing of any loans. The strange thing in all of this is that the year they are claiming it occurred is the same year that my Identity was stolen and all the old bank account numbers that they have are the ones that were compromised. The proper government authorizes have been contacted, police reports have been filed and all credit bureaus have been contacted. I expect EZCORP to reach out to me and either confirm this debt with actually hard copies to support it or to tell their debt collectors to stop trying to scam me.Business Response

I have been sent a letter stating pr threatening to *** us due to fraud, fist I have never had a loan with this company and i have yet to have had any other type of cobtact with them, I am unawar of how my information ended up with them but this is causing lots of stress to myself and my spouse, i need the actual company to send me the gard copy of the said installment loan that was made to me, I have contacted any previous bank account i have owened andbtheybwent through my records and have cleared to me no deposit from said company were ever made to my account , i need this information cleared up asap i would like EZ COPRP to send me the copy of the details and signatures of the installment loan made to me by their company EZMONEY, if unable to provide this due to error and mon exsistance of said loan i expect a letter from the company stating so, and a cease and descease from the collection agency threatening to cease our personal property on their behalf by the name of progressive legal group, this has cause troumendous stress and if ********* isnt done about it and we are not contacted soon we are seriously concidering looking to take lawful action ourselvesBusiness Response

I received a letter from progressive legal group on behalf of EXMONEY (a subsidiary of EZCORP) saying I owed money for a loan. They said I closed the account right after I got the loan and committed fraud. I logged on the progressive legal website and it then directed me to a billing website. I put in the file number and my last 4. It gave me an address I used to live at when I was on active duty. The city was misspelled. I did not and could not have gotten a payday loan at that time, as I was on active duty.Business Response

Apparently this company filed a lawsuit against me-i believe they called in the past as well-got a letter about lawsuit. Called-7/2014 someone got a loan using my information-i never got a payday loan in my life. I am rejecting this response because: I got this letter and I called *********************** and stated this is from EZMONEY and apparently are looking up my credit info with Transunion and stated it was from 7/2014. How is this legal representative able to get all my info and are they legit? What's going on? I don't feel safe and it's not ok just with the statement that was provided

I received numerous calls from a mediation company claiming I took out a loan in 2015 with EZ CORP and they will garnish my wages, freeze assets, take me to court,etc. None of it sounds legitimate nor do the people Ive spoken with sound professional or like they work in a firm. They have also harassed family members regarding this after I requested to stop calling. *** told ******* if I have a legit debt then I will willingly repay it but they refused to send me any paper document stating this is legit and Im not losing $800 over a potential scam when I have no record of any of this.Business Response
