I keep receiving calls from this company saying I owe them money and they have filed court paperwork to garnish my wages. I have done requests at the court and there is no such paperwork in process. Also, I have never done business with this company. The person who spoke with me said I took out a loan through them. I have not and when I asked for proof, she refused to provide me with any. This company has also called my father stating that legal action will be brought against me. My father is 70 years old and does not speak English very well, so it scared him a lot. I want to reiterate, I have never done business with this company, I have never taken a loan out through them, and they continually harass me and my family without providing any documentation to support their allegations.Business Response

Today I received a phone call from **** on behalf of EZ Money for a so called loan I took out. I was accused of taking out a loan with no intent of repaying it, writing a bad check, and evening them.They said after fees and Interest I owed them over $1000 and I needed to handle this or there would be repercussions. I have checked my credit report and my bank account nothing even comes close to matching this. They had personal information of mine which I have never disclosed to this company. Name, former employers, last 4 of ssn, bank and type of account I have. I need to know why this company that I was contacted on behalf of has my information, and is either selling it, or falsifying an account in my name!Business Response

I received a call and my Aunt did as well from Consumer Impact Recover stating that I owed a debt from an original collector: EZCORP EZMONEY of $1073.09 for a payday loan I took out back in 2018 supposedly. I have no idea what this is referencing and they have a past employer, former address and previous bank account. They stated that they have attempted to get a hold of me in the past and I had never heard of this company before. They stated this is a "notification of lawsuit and civil complaint", threatened wage garnishment. I have never received any notifications regarding this debt. They have the last 4 of my ssn as well as they saying they have my credit score. Can you please help me to figure out what they is all about? They are threatening to *** and stating that I am defrauding the client. I never remember taking out this loan and I don't think I even had this bank account back in 2018.Business Response

On August 16, 2023, my spouse received a phone call from ******************************, an employee at ************************** who was representing EZ CORP EZ MONEY. Reference Number: PIS-EZR2-******** Client ID: *************** informed my spouse that they sent me many letters about a payday loan from EZ CORP EZ MONEY. It was taken out in my MAIDEN NAME for $3000, but could not provide the date. She said they had obtained my full SSN, my birth date, and my current address. Their company had already placed a lien on my spouse's car, and had filed a court order to garnish my wages! She sent to my spouse's email, a letter dated 8/16, which stated I had to settle and pay in full by the end of their business day (5 PM EST), or face collection efforts.I have never had any previous communication with their company or EZ CORP EZ MONEY by phone, email, or mail. This "loan" was taken out in my maiden name, which I haven't used since 2015. There is no record of a loan from EZ CORP EZ MONEY or any collection efforts made by them or ************************* on any of my credit reports. I have seen many other people file complaints about this company for similar issues. That alone should be a HUGE red flag. I have taken action by freezing my credit and reporting this identity theft to the three credit bureaus and the Federal Trade Commission.I demand EZ CORP EZ MONEY and ************************* fix this by stopping their collection, removing the lien, and canceling the court order.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. After speaking with one of their representative, I have learned not only am I not a customer of theirs, but a scammer has been impersonating them, sending out fake collection claims through different business names. They recommended I follow up with the FTC.

I have received calls from a company called Aquarion Asset Mgmt. They are robocalls saying I owe money and could result in legal action if I don't respond. This time I called the number back. Surprised that someone real actually answered the call but it said this is an attempt to collect a debt. The EXTREMELY RUDE woman starts saying I owe $1000 something dollars for first a payday loan, then mentioned something about a car, saying I am going to be served and threatened with wage garnishment, reporting to credit bureau, etc. They had an old DL number, OLD bank, and other information. They said basically I am lying because they have a copy of my ID used. When asked if I wanted a copy of the report I said yes and they sent me a TEXT with a link!! I said I am not clicking on a link I have no idea what this is!!! Then I was hung up on! If there is something in my name it is FRAUDULENT. I HAVE NEVER HAD A PAYDAY LOAN WITH THIS COMPANY. I also called the bank they mentioned to see if they had any idea of what this was about. They said the number appears to be scam related and had nothing of the sort. The bank account was closed in 2018. My credit report has never had anything like this on it. I will be reporting this to the Attorney General in my state. I received a call 8/14/23 from D&D financial saying that I took about a loan from EZcorp EZ money of over $1000.00 and provided an address from 10 years ago as well as the employer. They said the company was sueing me for $5000.00 and that I had to pay ****** to settle the case before they filed a civil claim in court. I have never taken out a loan with that company and I never received any money into my account that wasn't from my employer. I tried contacting the loan company but I cannot find an actual number or website and I saw an article from 2015 that this company was sued for illegal collections calls and visits to people.Business Response

Received a phone call today, 08/15/2023 from a person claiming to represent EZ Corporation EZ money, first asking me to verify who I was then informing me that I owed EZ Corp. $600 but were gonna *** me for $3,000 if I didn't pay the money today. I informed the person that I didn't know anything about this debt, that somebody must have committed identity fraud on me. I asked for a contact number to call EZ Corp. to inquire about this accusation but she refused to give me one, insulted me, and threatened to move forward in a lawsuit against me. I asked her why was she getting an attitude with me and was refusing to give me the contact info I needed to resolve this matter but she just continued to have a horrible attitude and ended with a threat for me to be prepared to be ***d and my employer contacted and my wages garnished. I then Googled EZ Corp. and found out that they are part of a scam and have been ***d for false debt collections against people exactly as they are trying to do to me. I would like to file this complaint and have this matter looked into as she had all my personal information.Business Response

I received a call today from my brother stating that this company called looking for me and provided a case number for me to reference. He stated that this company told him that legal actions was being taken against me. I called the number that was provided from my brother and was accompanied b a man that was very rude, sarcastic and unprofessional. He confirmed old addresses that I had from 2016 and was able to read me my entire social security number. He told I was being sued and possibly taken to court for writing fraudulent checks etc from back in 2016. I explained to him that I have never wrote a check ever so this is incorrect. I asked him what was this balance amount for? He said what do you mean what is it for? I asked again who am I suppose to owe this to and why? He laughed and said I don't know I just told you. He listed an astronomical crazy amount that I know for a fact did not pertain to me. I told him that this was incorrect and that I believe this to be a scam. He then cursed at me and said this is not a God#*&n scam! I then hung up on this man after he read me my entire social security number. I am not sure how he obtained my information but I am truly concerned and need to document this. I see that Several others have had the same issue. My mom also later called me and said she also received a message from the same people looking for me. Case number that they left was e6204661 and the number he left was **************. He failed to give me his name. Once this is settled and done I will be looking into a lawsuit against the law office and the so called scamming company called EZ CORP EZ.Business Response

I just received a call saying I am going to be sued for a loan I know nothing about. The person on the phone said it was from 2014. I worked for a pay day loan company, so we were never allowed to take any out anywhere else due to policy. This has to be fraud! I attached a link for the "settlement" offer they emailed me.
