I took my Computer to the pawnshop to get a loan my Computer was there a little over six month..it was brand new when I took it in when they gave it back the buttons on my computer wasn't working it was freezing when I start it it cuts on and off. and in told them they assumed that I wasn't not gonna come back I told them I had proof that my computer was brand new n had got it from Best Buy they didn't want to give my money back I didn't want to argue with them so I just want to file this bbb claim against the company to get my fund back this way..Business Response

I keep receiving calls from a mediation mediation services from a ************************* telling me I took a loan out from ******* Ez money years ago and I have a balance due of $ ****** and if I do not pay this that they will be filing in court and freezing my bank accounts and assets. I have never had a loan from this place or a payday loan of any sorts. They are calling me and my father I truly believe this is a scam because I got a call years ago saying the same thing but threatening to have my arrested in 30 minutes at my job. Received a lawsuit letter from ********************** stating that I have defaulted on a installment loan not date listed of original date opened. Stating I opened an installment loan from ezcorp ezmoney for the amount not listed but now owe ******** must be paid by 08/11/2023. This is fraud and want it removed if it actually exists. I have never taken an installment loan out through said company (EZCORP EZMONEY). This is fraud and needs it removed.Business Response

I was contacted by phone from a business calling themselves Remedy Mediation Solutions, *********************************************************************************************, ************, stating that I owe back payment to a business EZ Corp EZ Money, and stating of a past resident address and employer from 2013. A rep named ***** seemed very knowledgeable as she shared with me all of the legal and financial penalties if I choose to ignore this information. She even stated that if I want to go ahead and make restitution and pay that they would be able to reduce the amount by a minimal percentage. After asking many questions, and after ******* informed me she could send an email about this matter while we remained on the phone, I continued asking more questions, stating that all of this seems very suspicious. ******* stated that they would prefer I take of this matter within 48 hours, and if not, this matter would continue to proceed to court hearings.I do not believe this info has any real truth to it. I received a Spam identified call from a company called Consumer Impact Recovery stating that I somehow owed a debt to this EZCorp in the amount of ******* that originated as a cash advance 300$ debt. When I asked for the date of the debt they could not provide this to me but was trying to validate information with 13 year old addresses 15 year old work history and addresses that are vacant properties. The person threatened to file a lawsuit for this debt even after I verbally disputed the debt and requested proof in writing of this supposed debt.and threaten me with wage garnishment. I believe this is a scam or some sort of racketeering scheme to ******* people out of their money. Where they messed up at currently, I still have my checking account from more than 20 years. If I had any issues with writing bad checks my account would not be still an active account. They tried the right one today!!Business Response

I received a notice in the mail on 8/8/2023 from ********************** who represents a company called EZCORP EZMONEY File# **********. In this letter is states that I owe this company money for a payday loan, they say the original loan amount was for $380.00. But they are telling me I now owe $866.31 I called and asked to have all the information for this so-called loan they say I took out when I never heard of them or used them. They pulled my wife's name and my father's name and ran my credit report and have my social security number as well as an old employer that i have not worked for in over 9yrs, they did an illegal search of my information and now have my current address. And telling me they will garnish my wages and put a lien on my property. For a loan I have never taken out. I know the statute of limitations is 6yrs and according to them this was closed in Sept 2014 I also know that they were sued in 2014 for 7.3 million dollars that had to be paid out to over 130, 000 customers that they were harassing. I have seen many other people file complaints about this company for the same issue. Once this is all taken care of, I am looking into filing a complaint/lawsuit against the law office and this so-called scamming company EZ CORP EZ MONEY both should be reported for this scam.Business Response

I received a letter in the mail from ********************** Official Business with the following address: ***************************************************** sent to my home. The letter was not dated and indicated that this was the second notice. The letter attempted to collect $1,114.46. It stated that I borrowed such amount from EZCORP EZ MONEY while working at ********* ** CARPET CLEAN. None of this information is true. It lated proceeded to state that if I did not make payment, they would file a civil lawsuit for NSF Fraud and Malicious Intent to Commit Fraud. It stated that I obtained the loan, closed or changed by bank account and sent a check with insufficient funds. Again, this is not true. It listed two individuals as potential witnesses, one which is unfamiliar to me. It also listed my last 4 digits of my SSN and Credit Score.Business Response

I received a Notification of *************** Complaint letter on 8/8/2023 from ********************** stating that I owe $1511.81 to EZCorp EZMoney. It references a loan taken out while working at a company I worked for over 10 years ago and that if they do not receive payment by 8/11/2023 they will subpoena 2 family members as witnesses and that I will be served a court summons to appear in court. According to the document I received there was supposedly a payment that was returned due to NSF. It also references my current home address as an asset that a lien could be placed on. I do not have any outstanding loan with EZCorp EZMoney and believe this is a scam. Can you please provide me with any information for what else I need to do to get this cleared?Business Response

I received a notice today from ********************** stating that I owed a debt from an original collector: EZCORP EZMONEY of $1073.09 with a due date of Aug 11 of 2023 for a payday loan. I have no idea what this is referencing and they have a past employer from over ten years ago. The notice stated it was the second notice, I didnt even get a first notice. It states this is a "notification of lawsuit and civil complaint". I have never received any notifications regarding this debt. They stated that they were going to subpoena witnesses one of which I have no idea who this person is the timestamp on the envelope was August 1 and they are stating that I have till August 11th to pay. I dont like this at all they have the last 4 of my ssn as well as they saying they have my credit score. Can you please help me to figure out what they is all about?
