      Received letter today (8/7/2023) from ************* notifying me of lawsuit and Civil Complaint. Says I had an installment loan from Ezcorp Ezmoney while working at *******. It says I obtained this loan and immediately closed or changed my bank account. I have never heard of Ezcorp Ezmoney and never worked for or heard of a company call *******. It says I owe $1483.82 due August 11th and failure to pay will result in a Civil Judgement that *** garnish my wages and put a lien on my house. It also claims they will subpoena my wife and son as witnesses. It says they will run a run a credit report that will be result in a hard query being reported to "..." This name is conveniently not legible. The fine print says "this debt was incurred several years ago". No details of where or date this supposedly took place. A file number is listed - **********.

      Better Business Bureau:

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. A rep from the company called me and she was very helpful in determining that the Civil Lawsuit notification was not the result of any loan I took out with EZCORP. She was able to verify that I was not and never have been a user of their ********************.

      date 8/7/23 received a leter stating legal action against myself for a ez loan from 2012 with a bank account I havent had, I ended up paying the bill because I was scared but did I get scammed? ez corp, ez money is who stated I owed them money, there is a file #, my childs name and my mothers name an old address that I lived at years ago and my social security number, please help

      I received a letter in the mail about legal action, taken against me about a payday loan that Ive never taken out before. Its stating that I owe $1,560.32 and its due by August 4, 2023. The letter mentions the company that Ive been working for. It also mentions that they will take legal action against my husband and my mother if this matter goes to trial. It also mentions my last four of my Social Security number.

      I received a notification of lawsuit & civil complaint letter in the mail from a ********************** based in ********, ** (file number **********) stating that I owe $1,140.82 to Ezcorp Ezmoney. The notice has my last four of my SSN and that they would subpoena *******************. I called on 8/4/2023 and spoke to a ***** who stated that a payday loan was taken out in my name on 3/20/2012 for $420 to a BoA account #************ with the following address: *********************************************** and that I worked for a Heartland Healthcare. I never took out a loan through this company, nor have I ever worked for a Heartland Healthcare. Apparently Im not the only one this has happened to. I truly believe that this is a scam. Whoever this company is, they need to leave people alone.

      I received a letter from ********************** Official Business for a payday loan I supposedly took out from EZCORP EZMONEY. File No. ********** states that I owe $1486.83 that is due on 8/4/2023. It says I have to pay or I could face having to go to court and owe back interest, court and attorney fees. They will garnish my wages and so on. In this letter it also states that they will subpoena references that I listed on my original application. The problem with that is I never took a loan out with them and the name that they listed on this letter I did not know. In 2015, the **** ordered EZCORP to stop collection of its remaining payday and installment debt, allegedly owed by about ******* consumers, and may not sell those debts to any third parties. Due to illegal debt collection practices, EZCORP had to refund $7.5 million to ****** consumers and pay a civil penalty of $3 million to ****'s ******************* Again, I never took a loan out with EZCORP EZMONEY, but why are they wanting me to pay this alleged loan and make my payment payable to ********************** Official Business when they were ordered to stop collection on any remaining payday and installment debt? I know this is a scam and a scare tactic to make me and others who received letters from EZCORP EZMONEY through ********************** Official Business surrender money that is not owed, but I want to know who else I can reach out to on a federal level to see if there are any charges that we can file.       Received a letter 7/31/2023 stating EZCorp EZ Money wants payment from me for $1,045.53 for an unpaid payday loan. Notification states if I do not submit payment by 8/4, a civil action including a lawsuit will be filed against me, and reported to the credit bureaus, and a potential lawsuit filed as well. Letter states my parents will be sought via subpoena as well as witnesses against me. Additionally, it states after I received the loan, I immediately changed or closed my bank, I caused NSF's and fees over $100 and now I am being charged with fraudulent activity and malicious intent to commit wire fraud. I attempted to call the number listed **************, however you cannot speak to someone, they say leave a message and we will call back. I have received several calls from this same number marked as spam and the voice mail message that is left each time is just annoying sounds as if they were attempting to fax to my number. The letter states this is the 2nd notice, however I have never received any notice prior. If this is indeed my debt, I have a right to have all of the original information provided to me to verify. I suspect this is a scam as I have not had a payday loan and their data is incorrect.

      Some arbitrator called me abut a payday loan from EZCORP being possibly pursued legally in order to get payment for a loan they said I applied for for the amount of 650 dollars in May 2013. The person I spoke with on the phone said that it was likely I would be sued if I didn't pay the amount up front or 'whatever I could afford' or start a payment plan. No word of any kind of proof of this debt or anything like that. Given a random number to call and verify if I had ever had a bank account with (that ******************** supposedly deposited the 'payday loan funds' into) which I haven't and the company ONLY does business banking. This should be illegal and I have not ever applied for or received a payday loan in the timeframe they are suggesting.

      Received a letter in the mail, claiming I have a outstanding payday loan balance. And that if I do not pay the balance, I am going to be sued. Never! Have I ever taken out a payday loan. file number for the company is ********** *********** is also claiming I took this loan out with my previous employer, which I left almost 7 years ago. And that I changed bank accounts. I have had the same bank account for over 10 years.

      Recieved a letter from black stone legal group citing I owe ******* to ez corp ez money for a payday advance loan I never did. It had my former address, employer, and family names, along with the last 4 of my social on this letter. Im trying to figure out if this is a scam and have seen multiple people questioning the same as I look online. It says this will be reported to my credit soon as well even though I never got any loan.
