On Monday, 7/24/23 I received notification from ********************** stating that EZCorp EZMoney wants payment from me in the amount of $747.03 for a unpaid PayDay loan. The notification indicates that if I do not submit this amount by August 1, ******************************************************* and they further indicate that my husband, ***********************, and my daughter, *************************, might be called as witnesses if this issue were to go to court and that my credit report might reflect this information.I have never requested or secured a loan of any type via the internet. According to the document I received this was for a payday loan and supposedly I issued a payment that was returned NSF. The law office who sent out the notification provided me with a bank account number that is not my bank account number and a date that this loan was supposedly taken out - that date is nearly ************************************************************************************************************** interest.I suspect that this is some type of predatory scam and I want to report them for this behavior and hopefully forewarn others to be careful with agencies such as these.Business Response

Received a letter from *********************** civil lawsuit notification, saying that I did a payday loan with Ezcorp Ezmoney and owe $1492.98. I called the number ************ and they gave me 2 amounts that I owe them and was done March 2013. They even have my SS number, family member names, where I was employed 20 years ago and my street adress. I did not do a payday loan with this company and not sure if this is a scam. I received a letter from ezcorp saying I owe on a loan that I have never taken out or ever heard of them they are threatening to take me to court and bring people in my family in the matter. They even pulled up a old employer who I haven't worked for in 15 or more years. I don't know who these people are and I have never taken out a loan with these people I need some answers.Business Response

name is *******************. ez pawn in ***** has had my laptop for several months now and i always keep the interest paid up until i can get it out. normally i get a reminder of some sort to pay my interest. well today 7/14/23 i get a call from one of the girls working stating that i pawned my laptop with no hard drive and then demanded i come immediatley and rebuy my pc so that they can get their money back on it. well #1 this ez pawn WILL NOT TAKE any pc or laptop without working windows 10 on it, i know this because i had to upgrade it to **** it, and ***** the store manager tested it right in front of everyone. #2 i have a bachelor's degree in computer sciences and currently work as a level 3 tech support for a very large company and know for a fact along with my wife who was there also that my laptop has windows 10 home on it with a 2TB hard drive that's now missing while it was in possession of ez pawn. It is physically impossible for me to have done that without having gone into the back storeroom and took the laptop apart and pulled to drive out of it which takes minimum 30 minutes of disassembly time. then i was verbally bullied by the team member and told that i must come buy it back . No i dont think so , i think ez pawn owes me a **** latitude laptop with windows 10 and a 2tb drive or equivalent.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: ezcorp isn't trying to do anything but make more money . The district manager wants me to pay for the loan amount plus 30 days of interest to get it back. How's that customer service ? It's kind of odd how after all this the laptop mysteriously works and has a hard drive. I feel like i should be treated like an intelligent adult . This whole interaction has left a bad taste and all of the reviews I read were right, they are not about customer service they are only about **********************. ********************** should hire more competent employees that don't call customers demanding they re-buy back the items they have and accuse them of pawning defective equipment. That's harassment. Also I'm now being asked to go inspect the laptop and make sure it's working and is mine plus the loan amount plus 30 days of interest added. That is just wrong to do to someone that buys way more things from the store than I ****. I will not be returning as a customer. Also my competition pistol has vanished also that was part of the transaction that day. This was an experience I won't forget and will be telling people about .

I received a call today from a ************ number asking me to call back a ************ number stating they were a law office for EZCorp asking me to make a payment over the phone in regard to a loan taken out in 2018 that I have not paperwork on and when I asked for paperwork the lady was very rude and hostile, she said they would only send me a receipt if I wanted to resolve the issue but no paperwork about me taking out a loan that I have no idea about and said they were going to issue a warrant for my arrest. This company was very rude and very unprofessional. I have no idea who they are.Business Response

On 7/14 a representative ****** from Premiere One Solutions ************ and *********** called me stating that I owed over $1,529 for a pay day loan that was taken out. The agent could not give me the original loan date because he could not go that far back on his screen. He also stated that he didnt know specifically where or how the loan was taken out. He stated that there are an umbrella of places that fall under the ** corp name. I have not taken out any payday loans. They offered to settle for $800. I have requested that they send documentation on loan showing these details. He also threatened litigation and that the amount they would be seeking would be about $3,278. I have never taken out any payday loan and I have never seen one on my credit report.Business Response

Received a Notification of *************** Complaint from ********************** pertaining to a payday loan originating with EZCORP EZMONEY while employed by COMM OF ** ***** NATURAL RESOURCES. The notice states that I committed fraud by obtaining this loan and immediately closing or changing banks. I did not take out a payday loan nor have I closed my bank account. No dates were given but I worked at ***** of ***************** from 2007 to 2016. The notice is threatening wage garnishment. After reading the complaints on here, I am certain this is a scam. I will only pay if they can provide me proof (check supposedly written by me). The also claim that this is the 2nd notice sent when this is the first I have heard of this. They list a reference on the original application that I do not know. They also list a credit score at the bottom which is no where near what mine is. Nothing like this shows on my credit report neither.Business Response

I received a notice today from ********************** stating that I owed a debt from an original collector: EZCORP EZMONEY of $1135 with a due date of July 20th of 2023 for a payday loan. I called this number immediately, *********** to inquire about this matter. The representative informed me that this debt was from a payday loan done online from the company listed in March of 2014. I assured her I had no idea what she was referring to and even if I knew someone what she was referring too, that was almost ten years ago. THe notice stated it was the second notice, I said "I didn't receive a first notice." It states this is a "notification of lawsuit and civil complaint". I have never received any notifications regarding this debt. I asked her if this was true, Im assuming this company would have made a second attempt to collect the debt from my bank account, which most businesses do when performing an ACH transaction. She could not provide me with a date they sent out the first notice. She offered to settle this debt for $500 immediately. I told her I was not paying anyting until I had received some form of notification regarding this debt and I wasn't sure of any payday loan online. Her customer service was extremely unprofessional and later transferred me to another phone number that was only a voicemail because she could not provide with me the answers to my questions. I also looked up this business on the state of Virginia's business entity search and turned up no record. Website www.blackstoneLG.com does not look legit either.Business Response

I just got a phone call from a company Aquarium Asset Mgmt offering a mediation in a collection case claimed by EZ Corp EZMoney about a credit card/loan that I supposedly took out from them in ****. The amount that they were claiming was $1,134.20 but they offered a 35% discount if I decided to pay Today ($635). First he said it was a cash advance, then a loan, and finally a Discovery credit card. They have all the information from my DL, email, phone, and even SSN. I asked for proofs or aything and they told me that they can't provide any of that. They just sent me the letter with the claim.Business Response

On 07/12/2023 I received a call from ********************* who claimed to be from a company called Consumer Impact Recovery. He stated that there was a claim from an ********* easy money in my name from 2015-2018. He was trying to get me settle for $1500 or start a payment plan. I told him I refuse to pay for something that never happened. I requested him to send me something in the mail to prove what he was claiming and he said he could not so that but would send me a receipt for my payment once it was paid off. This appears to be a scam. He knew the last 4 of my social and some of family members names. After reading other complaints about this same issue here this appears to be fraudulent.Business Response
