I am being charged $178.78 for services that were not rendered and were never intended to be provided. Now they are also saying it's another 198 to cancel the contract. We called today 9-22-22 and received a return phone call from a caller id of Elizabeth R Ogden UT on a recorded line. It was a man that called us back.
The salesperson doesn't tell you that they are trying not to schedule future appointments for the next three plus months because they say they use the best product on the market that doesn't work. We signed up with the door to door salesman that misled us into believing that they would call and schedule future service with us and never have. He also stated that we were getting a product that normally costs $250 for only $59 if we set up a contract with them. I called left messages for the salesman and the 800 number with no return phone calls. We called again today only to listen to a guy that said I'm only here to explain your contract to you and the contract states we don't have to call you for service and it's your job to call us. I asked him as a Human Being do you feel it is right to charge someone a fee for service that you have not provided. He continued to state on a recorded line that they needed to make up for the initial service cost of 250 by charging us for months without calling to set up the next visit. Then he continued to state they have not called to set up the service because we have not paid. He also stated they are supposed to call and make the appointment for the next visit which contradicts what the sales contract states. The sales person at the door also stated they are going to call for the next appointment.
I paid upfront for the service that was rendered. Nothing has been done to this day and I have emailed them and called leaving messages. I requested to speak with the manager and still waiting for them to call back.
This company is deceptive and uses these unethical sales tactics to make a measly 59 per month.Business Response

My phone number is registered with the Do Not Call list. They call me 5-7 times a day! I've asked them several times to remove me from the list and do NOT stop!!!!!!!!!! I already filed a complaint with the *** and now they need to respect my privacy and accept their business is not wanted! They dont care and keep calling me private number which belongs to the law firm where I work. Next thing will be a lawsuit if they don't stop!Business Response

Hawx representative (Nathan- phone number ************) signed me up for two contracts. He told me it was one contract that covered the inside and outside of my home. It was a lie, he signed me up for two. I was told I would be charged $49.99 a month and I got charged twice the amount. I called to cancel and they want to charge $400 to cancel both contracts even tho they are aware of their representatives scamming people into two contracts. They have lied to me and the office will not do anything to correct it. They simply say that if I want to cancel I owe them $400. It's unethical and if you hear this from more than one customer they are doing this on purpose. I want to be freed from these contracts.Business Response

The business charges you for a monthly service whether you receive the service or not. I asked the technician to reschedule the service in August, he, nor the office did and they charged me for the month. I went to cancel my contract only to discover that the charge is $400, plus the two months of service I did not receive (month of no service and the month I canceled in). The business is not focused on killing bugs its purpose is to generate revenue through 12-month contracts. You are charged whether they perform the service or not. If you sign up for indoor and outdoor and cancel one, they still hold you to both when it comes to cancellation fees. I wouldnt mind the contract if the service was worth the value of the payments, but it is not. That is why it so important for this company to lock you into a contract.Business Response

On June 25 2022, a Hawx Pest Control representative arrived at my house to offer an unsolicited service saying that he was selling a special in my area. He explained that he could spray my yard for a substantially reduced price. At first I refused the offer, as I was not in the market for such a thing. He persisted and I eventually agreed on an even lower rate after he adjusted his sales pitch. He explained that there would be a tech coming out in a few days. 2 months later I received an invoice for another treatment. After calling Hawx, they informed me that I signed a 1 year agreement. This was NEVER explained at the time I agreed to the appointment. I was lead to believe this was a 1 time service. Hawx would not honor my request to nullify the contract under misrepresentation by their rep and refused to void the agreement. I would NOT have agreed to ANY recurring charges and appointments. The rep ******** information and blatantly mislead me into a contract. I need help deactivating my contract with them, penalty free, as I was sold services without full disclosure of the terms.Business Response

A door to door sales man from Hawx pest control came by on Jun-7-2022 and asked me if i would like to do Pest control at my home, for Crickets and mosquitoes, I agreed to it, he asked me to put a credit card on file and said i would be charged after the job was done. I agreed and put my credit card on file. He apparently put me on some soft of a contract that would charge me ***** each month for a year. He did not tell me anything about the contract and i find it out after i see a series of charges on my credit card.I contact Hawx to cancel the subscription, they say it is a yearly contract, and ask me to catch hold of the sales person, they are not willing to take any responsibility, while they are promoting such predatory tactics for sales. The sales person is not reachable. I will need help to cancel the contract and refund my money.Business Response

Early this year, we signed a contract for services monthly for outdoor pests. Hawx missed 2 months, July and August, on our contract. My wife and I have been promised a manager will call us, but nothing for a month now. But the money keeps getting pulled every month. So we are being charged for services they have not done. That is theft, and null and voids whatever contract we have. And if we "cancel" so we can have a company come in and do what hawx is suppose to do, we will be charged over $500Business Response

Hawx came to my home offering to spray for mosquitoes. I agreed and said I wanted their service one time. They wrote 12 months on the contract, did not perform any spraying a second time, and charged me a $210 cancellation fee. They are going around preying on innocent people and their business model is designed to scam people out of money.Customer Answer

I hired this company in June to handle my pest control issue. After the first visit, I noticed that the problem was not any better. I called the company several times to complain. They sent out employees for a warranty visit, but no change.
What I have noticed is that the personnel sent, did not give me the services that we agreed to, No one had ever actually sprayed, They came in with the gel and walked around the place No one ever sprayed.
Technically when they visited my home for service, they were incomplete.
09/13/2023 I had a visit for service from Erik P***, He was the only one to spray inside the house.
I would like a refund for the service, This company did not honor the contract.

Professional scammers. A couple of guys came to the door to pitch us their services. I was sure I asked all the questions necessary. Including if we could cancel at any time. He somehow left out the part of there being a cancellation fee/breach of contract. Which words he never used. He made it sound super easy to cancel just by calling if we weren't satisfied. How terrible for us now. As we are three months into it since July 2. And my husband is on disability and we arent getting his payments when we need them so we are living on the bare minimum. So this extra once a month billing from this scammy company is very detrimental to our situation. Which we were not satisfied with their services to begin with. I called to see if we could at least get our subscription paused. The cancellation manager simply told me over and over that its impossible to waive the fee, (which is $211) or pause our account. He only offered a $30 discount for the next payment. We would need that for the next several months. Let me add that i couldn't read the contract we were signing as it was an electronic signature. So of course i couldnt read the fine print on their electronic contract about the cancellation fee, nor were we offered a Physical contract to look over either. This company takes advantage of everyone. We really need to be able to cancel without penalty due to our financial situation. They simply do not care and said it would ruin our credit if we did not pay.Business Response
