      On August 8th 2022 a young man from Hawx rang my door and began his pitch. He kept giving me all these wonderful discounts and telling me how "no one else is getting the discounts I'm giving you", which I know is bs, but regardless. So I finally agree that I will sign up for the pest control service. The young man says great, pulls out his phone/tablet and scrolls through all the service agreement fine print stopping briefly for me to sign/initial in the designated area. I was never given the opportunity the read through the terms of service because the young man just blew past everything except where to sign. At no point was I made aware of or given the opportunity to read of the implications of terminating my services with Hawx. I trusted that I was being taken care of. I received my first treatment the next day on August 9th, because they were already treating a home on my street that day. My next treatment is scheduled for the beginning of November.I called this morning, August 31st 2022, to inform **** that I no long wished to be serviced by them and that I would like to cancel my subscription. They are now telling me that They will CHARGE me for the amount I was initially DISCOUNTED ($189) when I agreed to have them service my home. That is an absurd way to do business. I was promised all kinds of discounts as a tactic to get me to sign up, and all cancellation policies were hidden from me until AFTER I signed their "legally binding agreement", at which point my signed agreement was sent to me in an email, after signing. Their customer ******************** reps told me there is "no one in the company with the authority to waive the cancellation fee"I feel taken advantage of, deceived and misguided, and I feel a complete lack of customer service coming from Hawx. I was NEVER informed of a cancellation policy until after I signed up, and NEVER IN MY LIFE have I had a company come back on me and tell me I owe back all the discounts I was promised when I signed up.

      Horrible people to deal with.they lost a check that was given to a technician and charged late fees,put my account as delinquent.refused to deduct a stop payment on a check, customer service reps are rude and ignorant. Technicians are very sketchy characters,actually damaged a basement,leaving nasty residues on a finished floor.bug problem never went away.There are decent services out there,run away from these crooks and chase a salesperson away from your house if you value your property . ******,******,**

      Failure to explain any of the terms of the contract if I knew I would have to pay over $200 to cancel my account after I had no choice but to move out of my house to deal with family health problems and no longer needed the service I would have never wasted the money.I didnt want this service to begin with Only reason I even got this pest control was because a sales lady was bugging me when I was in my garage trying to get work done and after 15 min of me explaining how I dont have the money to pay for this. ALL I wanted was to be left the h*** alone but she convinced me to sine up for the cheapest option that was them coming by every 3 months to just spray outside I spent over $150 for two sprays. :( I should have just gone to ******* and bought a bottle of home defense for $30 I would have been %100 better off. If someone wants to cancel a service like this it makes no sense to charge them for it It only make sense for people to pay for services directly provided not for them to have to pay for simply ending services that are never going to be done.Even if I wanted to pay the cancellation fee I couldnt I have all of $50 to my name and thats not changing and time soon.

      This complaint is against Hawx Services LLC for pest spraying at my mothers whole lives in south county, *****************. My mother is 84 years old and in reasonably good health and mind. She lives alone and makes most of her decisions on her own. A salesperson from Hawx LLC called on her home early summer and told her about a $99 pest spraying. She agreed to the one time pest spraying (and even told me about it) but did not understand that she was really signing for an annual $1200 pest spraying. This occurred around May 31, 2022. About a month ago I was at her home and the doorbell rang. It was young man from Hawx and he said he was there to spray the house. I told him that my mom had only paid for a one time $99 spraying and he left. Today August 30, I was at my mom's house and he showed up again. I once again told him she had only paid for a one time spraying and he again left. I then called to Hawx and talked to an account manager who told me that my mom did sign a contracts. I explained that she thought that she agreeing only to the one time $99 spraying. The agent told me I would need to pay a sum of money to break the contract. She emailed copies of the contract and confirmed that payments were being applied directly to my mom's discover credit card. I am hoping the BBB can help to resolve this issue. I feel like my mom being older was somewhat duped into the annual contract. She knows she agreed to the $99 deal but had NO IDEA that is was an monthly plan. Today I was able to review my mom's discover card statement and see that 4 treatments have happened so far and all treatments are being billed to a credit card on file, unsure if she approved the card on file.Reading some reviews from the Yelp on Hawx services I see many complaints of offering clients the $99 then it turning into the an annual contract. Desired outcome - cancellation of the contract and ensure Hawx LLC and their employees never contact my mother again.

      ******. Sales consultant came to my home randomly soliciting a pest control service around 5-6 pm. Informing me that the service was a monthly subscription and that some pest control specialist would service my home. Informed the consultant that the cost was too high and he offered a decent discount. I asked several times to confirm that the service be monthly and the representative confirmed that it would be. After the first service, I was charged two more times with not technician visiting my home. I reached out to the account specialist and informed her of my situation and she told me that the service needed to be requested by me monthly if I wanted that. Why would I be charged for a service not being rendered. She was very rude, I could hear that he had her baby in her arms and she informed me that I needed to pay for the entire service in order to cancel it. After trying to understand why I should have to pay for that she interrupted me and transferred me to billing. Billing couldnt help me and transferred me again. The 3 representative said that the first department in retention is the only place to assist and transferred me. Where I was on help for 4 hours before disconnecting. The practicing of the company are misleading and deceptive. A direct violation of FTC Act Policy Statement on Deceptive Acts and Practice.

      Sometime in June a sales associate for Hawx Pest Control wrung my doorbell to sell pest control services offered by the company. We talked for about 30 minutes where he inquired about the types of bugs indigenous to the area I live in and inquire which I have seen. He then informed me that the service was $49.99 and that if within 30 days after the service was provided and I saw any bugs I could call someone out to reapply the service free of charge. I signed a document on his ipad for a service rep to come and provide the initial service, which I had to pay before they came out. He also stated that if after that and there were more bugs I could call them to come out and at that point pay the $49.99 for service. They did come out the first time and I have not called them again for service. However, about a month later I saw a bill from the company. I contacted the sales person and informed him that I received a bill and did not know why. He then informed me that there was a monthly service charge. I told him that was not the conversation we had and that the cost was too much when I did not need the service as frequently. He stated that he would talk to his manager about a reduction in the cost. However, his resolution was to bill me on a quarterly basis and sent a bill for my signature. I informed him that the resolution he and his manager came up with does not resolve my issue with the cost. I never signed that quarterly bill statement. I have since talked to 3 differnt individuals regarding this bill they have not cancelled. On 8/30, I received another call informaing me that there *** $200 cancellation fee. What is the purpose of the cancellation for? They have not been out to provide any additional service, I have informed them of my position, I have not signed the the bill that was sent and I informed them from the very beginning that I had no intention to continue with a monthly service cost from them.

      This company sent out employees to sell their services. I had nice young person come to my door, I said no because I was super sick and didn't wanna stand there. Although I knew we were looking for a pest control, I said yes, so I thought it would be quick process because he said like two signatures. First payment right then, sign. A technician to spray, sign. Absolutely nothing about a monthly contract or payment, or cancellation fee. So I called customer service and was told it was my fault I didn't read anything when I was told two signatures, and they couldn't take my word over their employee about what was said. But I was supposed to take their employee's sad story of family problems. Plus NOT a good job done. Also with customer service, so rude, horrible, asked to speak with a supervisor, boss, CEO. No-one runs that office from within. All I wanted was for it to be the quarterly payments and nothing more, they got so unwilling to work with, so I got unruly myself. And from what I can see of their 792 complaints, you'd think would stop this c*** Also before you address my complaint, I will take nothing less than all money being refunded, cancellation fee wiped clean.

      This company took $150 off my credit card even though I cancelled 12 hours after a verbal contract. I never signed a contract. The contract they sent me to sign but I did not said I could cancel with 72 hrs. Which I clearly did. Now they are trying to get another $50 out of me. I called To complain. To set the record straight. They put me on hold indefinitely. They have no intention of answering my call or “correcting their error” as the first person told me they would. I called a second time. Again I’m on hold indefinitely. They have my Credit Card. I am afraid they will continue to charge me. And/or damage my credit report. And. I cannot stop them. They are evil. A scam!

      Hawx pest control cam to my door I told them I didnt want the service but he keep on and lowers the price till I agreed. I was told that it would be 54 dollars for the first treatment and then 54 every 3 months. But then they started billing me every month so when I called and told them I wanted to cancel it they told me I only had 3 days which I was never told and that if I want to cancel it now I have to pay over ******. I was lied to from the start and want it canceled!! I would never had agreed to ***** a month I was told it would be 54 every 3 months thats the deal I was given!!! The women I talked to on the phone even said I wasnt the only one to complain about this but still wont cancel it!!

      A Hawx pest control representative was soliciting in my neighborhood back in April 2022. He explained that they were offering pest control services and I could sign up for a discounted rate for the first several months. I explained I had a pest control service already but he assured me they offered more and it was cheaper. I agreed to the discounted rate that he explained I would get because it was cheaper than what we already paid and they sprayed for more insects than my current pest control service. He charged me for the first spray which was around $65-$80 that day. I gave my information because they said they would come back the same day and spray inside and outside. This did occur. I was not aware that the price would go up to $136+ per month as I just realized this when I saw my bank statement in August. I assumed they were paid monthly by auto pay but for the discounted rate. This is not what I understood to happen. I only agreed because I thought the discounted rate would be for monthly services. I called today August 29,2022 to cancel the services and was asked why. I advised that I no longer wanted their services and was going to stay with our previous pest control. I was transferred to a manager of customer service named *****. I explained the same to *****. He then informs me that I signed a 12 month contract with them and that if I wanted to cancel , I would have to pay the reimbursement fee for giving me the initial discount when I signed up plus the fees for the outdoor/ indoor services which added up to Almost $450. I asked for his last name and he refused to give it to me. I asked to speak with someone higher than him, and he said HE was the manager. I am not paying 450+ to cancel services I do not need or want. I explained to ***** this was not advised to me when services were sold. If so I would have received NEVER agreed to this. I want my services cancelled and no more charges on my card for Hawx pest control. This was definitely a scam!
