The nature of my complain is that the service that I paid for was misrepresented to me by the door-to-door salesman who came to my house. On June 21, ***************************** my backyard when a door-to-door salesman walked up to my yard and began discussing bug control with me. The salesman said that Hawx had been called into the neighborhood by one of my neighbors, so thy were checking around to see if anyone else nearby wanted the service as well. He said that because they were already in the neighborhood, the price for the services was discounted. The product that I believed that I was signing up for was a one-time service, but it seems as though I was being signed up for an annual contract. I believed that I was paying $39.99 for this one time service. It turns out that I had signed up to pay $49.99/month for twelve months for quarterly service. When the worker arrived to perform the service, he was at my home for all of 15 minutes. I'm sure that he did a good job. However, my house is very small. I would not have signed up to pay $600 over the course of the year for this service. I would not have considered it worthwhile. To cancel the contract, I was told that I would have to "pay back" the "discounted" cost of the treatment that I already received, which was $210. I never would have paid $250 for this one-time treatment, and the salesman never represented to me that this is what I was signing up for. While I do not believe that the salesman lied to me, I do not believe that he was straightforward, and I also believe that information was withheld. I canceled the contract and paid the $210 to do so. When I called Hawx to cancel my contract and to explain my complaint, they made no effort whatsoever to keep my business, or decrease or eliminate the cancellation fee. I understand that the contract does not require them to do so. The sales man approached our house and offered pest control services. We had one issue that we needed treatment and it was with ants in yard . He said it was month to month services and we could cancel anytime. He had a iPad type device and said to initial in a place to verify name and address. That's the only place where we initialed. When they came to do service the tech didn't treat the yard he just went around the house and he took pictures as if he was doing some services but never completed anything. I called the company and they sent someone else to do a warranty reservice. That guy did do a lot but never got rid of ants. When I called to complain they told me the ant treatment was going to cost more. So I told them to cancel. They said I have a year contract and would need to pay $380 to cancel. They sent me a copy of the contract and only one place was initialed. Where the sales man told us was to verify name and address was actually where it said it was a year contract. I complained that they never even got rid of the ants. So they told me someone would call me back next day and that I would get a credit of 30$ and someone would come to treat for ants again. I waited 2 weeks and no call and no one came to treat again. They refused to come treat again so I canceled my credit card so they wouldn't automatically charge me again. Now they're sending me emails that I need to pay them . They are liers, scammers and their product is ineffective. Hawx pest control had a young kid walking around our neighborhood selling a discounted service for pest control. Were close to the lake and have big spiders outside so we figured wed give it a try. Were now moving and I tried to cancel this service because we hadnt noticed a difference in the amount of spiders present, and I simply dont need it anymore. I was NEVER told of a 3 day cancellation policy, and am now locked in to this contract for an entire year, or must pay almost $400 to get out of it. The service did not even get rid of the spiders, and it was an entirely misleading and rushed process to sign up. his is the worst pest control company I have ever used. They dont get to my house until 7pm which is very inconvenient. They dont do what they sell you on. Have to call them back after every visit. If you try to cancel they want to charge you a crazy amount of money .Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I don't know why they didn't tell me I could schedule a 2 hour window when they call me for a appointment instead of just showing up when they feel like it . As far as warranty work , again this is a inconvenience to me , because I have to take time again to be here, when they should have done what they say they would. The last time they were here I had spider eggs and webs all over my pool cage screen and had to do it myself. I have an ant problem in backyard and they never get rid of them ! I didn't understand what they said about canceling one subscription and keeping one ! All I want is to be done with this company at no charge and go on my merry way ! Don't send sales people door to door and give promises you can't fulfil !

A hawx rep came to my door and said he would only be charging 4 payments of ***** every 3 months. Now I am being charged monthly fees. I am rejecting this response because: I should be able to cancel without a fee. I have paid for one service and as a business you should be able to give cancellations without any fees. Based on the sales men information I was to only pay 4 payments every 4 months for a service. Because of miscommunication you should honor my cancellation. I am not the only one who I see on your reviews of a scam. I want to cancel. I have tried to get a hold of the sales man who misinformed me. And because of your 3rd party phone reps I am unable to. So you guys make it extremely hard. I have asked to speak with a manager and again I was denied. As far as a contract signed, the sales man had me signed on the spot. based on the information he gave me I agreed. Again all there red flags of a scam. So again, honor my cancellation without a fee. I signed up to have a bug problem taken care of. The service DOES NOT work and once I addressed this I was told they would come back as many times as needed but who wants pesticides sprayed every week when they dont work to begin with. I tried to cancel my service and they showed up that day I said to cancel and charged me anyway. Then would not apply the charge to the Cancellation Fee. I signed up for their services which was a contract that they agreed if I payed a monthly amount they would remove all pest issues in a timely manner. They failed to adhere to this agreement entirely. Rendered no service at all then charged me for not only not servicing me but for wanting to cancel because they failed to uphold our contract in any way. Signed up with them because we moved into a new house and we're having ants. They said they would send someone out but I had to cancel the appointment due to an emergency. When I did they told me I would be contacted to reschedule. No one called. I called multiple times and left messages. No one called. It's been weeks, no contact.Meanwhile the ants went from a few to infesting every floor. There are flying ants now. They are establishing a colony in our house and our pest control service is no where to be found!I managed to cancel the contract with them. They charged me over $100 for their failure to service my contract what so ever. If you are their customer you litterally have to pay for their mistakes, gross negligence, and misconduct. They didn't even have the decency to to wave the fee as an apology for delivering absolutely zero service and leaving my house infested. Had they done so I probably would have just let it go and skipped writing a review but the absolute disrespect after they completely failed me was too much.I went down and bought the products I needed and was able to get rid of the infestation myself. I highly advise avoiding this company.I wish to have the cancelation fee refunded as it was entirely their mismanagement of my account and failure to service my contract that resulted in it being cancelled. Tech showed up without notice, never knocked on the door. We realized something was wrong when something hit our ront porch window. It was the tech's wand that he was using to knock down mud daubers from the corners of the porch. I opened the door and discovered the tech, our power system hanging down from the ceiling, and a mess on our porch and door mat. No apology was offered and he didn't clean up or fix his mess. He then said he was going to lay down granules in the yard and spray around the outside of the house, but there's no evidence of such and he was gone before the work could have been done. He never came back to our door to update us on any service. This company recently double charged our card as well and their initial service didn't kill the bugs. Since then we've been charged monthly and twice last month. They are not an honest company and are taking advantage of people. We do not want them on our property again and will run them off if they show up. We want this contract cancelled.Business Response

You were provided a link via email to review and sign your agreements. After review you signed up for services and were then provided with signed copies of the agreements to the same email. Your termite and general pest services were both quoted at $39/month per subscription. Your initial treatments were performed on 5/20/22. Your next quarterly service was performed on 8/19/22. Please understand it is normal to see a slight increase in pests after your initial treatment. This is due to the product flushing pests out of any nesting sites you may not be able to see. Additional treatments are necessary to completely eliminate your infestation. All services are covered under warranty. We are available to re-service your home at anytime in between your regularly scheduled visits as needed. We will schedule a follow up service with the area manager to address any concerns you may have had with your recent service. You were provided initial discounts based on the minimum period of 12 months. These were agreed to be returned when cancelling prior to fulfilling services. I am rejecting this response because:In addition to being a dishonest and unprofessional company, you are also in default on the contract. To be clear our home was not serviced on Aug 19th. Your tech arrived unannounced and didn't even knock on our door to tell us he was here. I only knew because he very carelessly hit our living room window with his wand, and never even apologized. When I opened the door to see what was going on he said he was here to spray around the outside of our home and to treat our yard. He did NEITHER. We have 2 acres of land and two buildings to treat, and he was gone in 15 mins. He didn't give us an update about what he did and didn't ask us to sign anything. In fact, he just left. I walked the property and found no evidence of spray on the outside of the buildings and there were not granules in the yard. The spraying services you provided in May of 2022 were inadequate and the yard wasn't treated either.
Hawx promises services that are not delivered, and their bug spray product is not effective. The services they have provided to date indicate that they are not capable of delivering the services they promised in the contract. Since Hawx is in default of the agreement, the agreement should be considered null and void with no further charges or cancellation fees.
Do not send your tech or your manager to our property as you are not welcome here. For anyone reading this information, PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS. They are not honest, trustworthy, transparent, and don't care about keeping their commitments. They will charge you what they want and when they want as they insist on getting your debit or credit card info before ever providing services. BUYER BEWARE!!!! To the BBB: please never accredit this company.

Solicitor stated this was a one time deal, and if I wasnt happy with the results I could cancel anytime. Now I find out Im locked into a 1 year service. We have very cold ******* with no bugs, but I will be charged for them to spray year round. I would have never knowingly agreed to a year service. No formal copy of agreement was given at initial contact, just promises to get rid of your pest problem. Super dishonest company.-I was originally charged $49.00 on July 7, 2022 for my yard to be sprayed for pests/ bugs. -Technician came and sprayed yard on July 6, 2022.-Another charge came through on my bank account on August 6, 2022 for another $49.00. This was when I reached out to see why they sent through additional charges for no services rendered.-After I talked to customer service and they told me about the year contract. I told them to send a technician out to spray the yard if I was paying for it.-An appointment was set-up for the next day (August 18) at 4:00pm. Instead the technician apparently showed up at 9:30am instead, while we were at work and left a note on our front door.
