I requested a service to see if I had German cockroaches. At the time, I didn't know what I was occasionally seeing were click beatles. As the tech is inside my home, he is treating for German coackroaches, which as I'm finding out, I did not have on the property. The way I found this out is because I had the follow up techs come and they confirmed that not only did I not have German Cockaroaches, but the initial tech had put it in his internal notes that there was no activity. If there was no activity, then the service should not have been rendered. This is predatory practice. I called **** to let them know what my experience with the second tech - They came into the home to do general treatment and German coackroach, upon seeing we don't have German coackroaches, they alerted me I dont' have them AND REFRAINED FROM TREATING FOR GERMAN COACKROACHES SO I WOULD NOT GET CHARGED. This is what the first tech SHOULD have done. I called Hawks to get a refund for the amount that I was over charged (I did NOT need to be treated for German Coackroaches). They gave me the run around HEAVILY, and INSISTED that if a service was rendered, I need to pay. I let them know that they're tech should NOT have treated if there was no sign of German Coackroaches and they should have told me what they found were BEATLES. After going back and forth, the ** rep let me know that the person who originally set up my account needs to reach out to remedy the account. THEY NEVER REACH OUT - However, the billing department had ********** HARASSING me with calls and voicemail to pay the monthly bill (aside from the initial $300+ bill I've already paid), that treats for GERMAN COACKROACHES THAT AREN'T THERE. At this point, there are now TWO separate sets of tech with INTERNAL notes documenting that I do NOT have the pest that my home is being treated for. This is the MOST DISGUSTING experience I have ever had in my life.Business Response

RE: 17729692
Dear *********************************,
Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear of your experience. You signed up on our general pest and german cockroach bundled service. On your initial treatment the service professional noted he did not see activity at the time of service. This does not mean that an infestation is not present in your home. On 8/17 you spoke with a representative and agreed to continue with general pest services only. Your monthly rate was reduced and a credit was provided to the account. The current balance is your monthly recurring charges from August and September. These reflect the new discounted rate. At this time the account is active. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Thank you,

RE: 17726080
Dear *************************,
Thank you for reaching out to us. You signed up for quarterly general pest service on 5/21/22. Your initial treatment was performed on 5/21 with a warranty service performed on 5/26. Please understand it is common to see a slight increase after your initial spray. This is due to pests being driven out of their nesting sites. We provide warranty services at anytime in between your regularly scheduled visits for persistent infestations you may have. We do ask that you contact us to schedule this as it is not an automatically scheduled service. You can receive monthly warranty treatments if you choose to do so. Otherwise your service is performed on a quarterly basis. Additional treatments are necessary to successfully eliminate your infestations. Your initial discount will be reversed with active service. We will schedule a warranty service with our area manager to address and treat any concerns you may have. At this time the account is closed and the initial discount will remain. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.
Thank you,

In early June of 2022, I entered a contract with hawx to do pest control. I was promised that hawx would spray my house for bees, spread granuals around my house and would spray for mosquitos in our trees. I own a ****sqft house that is a two story design, we live on 3/4 of an acre of land. On the 21st of June a technician came out, we were both at work so after work we reviewed the door bell camera. the technician was at my house a total 9 minutes. that is not sufficient time to do everything they promised. I contacted hawx and was told they would come back out for warrenty work. they told me the soonest they could be out was 3 weeks. Fast forward to their next visit and it was cancelled due to rain. I called them to reschedule and once again it was a few weeks out. that brings me to 8/15/22 when they are supposed to come out. they no call no show and force me to call back again. this time we get the excuse of the technician ran out of time yesterday. this is 3 months we have paid 50 dollars for a service and have not received. we called them and asked to cancel. now we were charged 200 dollars to cancel the contract. if you want awful customer service and to pay for stuff not actually done this is the place to hire. I'd recommend looking elsewhere.Business Response

A nice young man with a tablet came up our driveway in early May and started telling about Hawx Pest Control that he works for and their services provided and they would do the first treatment for $1 and $49.99 per month after the 1st. application. Since my daughter is deathly afraid of spiders I thought I would have that done during the summer months. June 30 I was charged $49.99 but there was no evidence that another application was applied, then July 30 I was charged another $49.99 and still no evidence of an application. I called the company and they said I wasn't scheduled for a treatment until the middle of August. I told them that I was led to believe it was every month and not every 4 months - I don't have to worry about spiders during the cold weather season.
I was then told that it was stated that way in the contract that I should have received by email. I said I don't remember seeing a contract so I did a search for Haux and nothing came up showing any form of communication. At that time I said I want to cancel - contract or no contract. They said they would email me a cancellation notice, after I week I called again to say I never received the cancellation notice, I finally got the notice on August 4, 22. On August 9, 22 I got an email stating my balance is $248.99 which wasn't mentioned when I cancelled.
From my experience I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. They are basically charging $600 over a year's time for 4 applications. I dealt with the local Hawx in Appleton, WIBusiness Response

I had a service agreement with Hawx for four quarterly pest control services which was fulfilled and balance paid. I paid $99 for each quarterly service which I paid at the time the service was performed. Hawx then attempted to continue service and charge $49.99 per month. I advised them that I did not want to continue with their service and definitely would not approve a 50% increase. Hawx continues to send me emails and texts stating that I have a past due balance for the first month of their new monthly billing that they put on my account even though I have not received any service past the original agreement. The last email I received on 8/16/22 now says that they are assessing 1.5% interest. I've called them several times to attempt to resolve this and have been told that a Manager would call me back but I never get a call back.
I would like my account with Hawx to be closed with a ZERO balance and I asked that Hawx cease sending emails and text messages.Business Response

we got approach by a savvy sales rep, after 15 minutes of sales pitch, my son was listening, no we do not need the service, I told we would try for one time and would pay cash each time the service man came out. We where promised that all the bee's nest/wasp burrows would be removed. The gentleman came took 5 minutes to walk around the house spraying, and damaged all my roses in the front porch. I have taken pictures and uploaded them to their website and how he sprayed my roses. I paid him cash, now we are still getting the same bill, I have complained to the company, but unfortunately they are giving me the round about. I have asked them only to come to my house when I am present, so I can see exactly what is being done. Five minutes of work and damaging my roses is not worth what they promise. I still have ants walking on my sidewalk. I have personally sprayed myself.Business Response

***** came to my house on June 01 trying to sell me service. I felt bad for him and allow him to do it at my house we agreed on $50 and I told him I will not give him any of my credit/debit information ( I'm glad I did that). I gave him the cash (which is against company policy) and he told me only one time service, later he ask me to do survey and rush me into signing my signature. Here I am thinking helping local business while he was sweating bullets without thinking that a person right in front of me trying to scam me as we speak ( so naive of me). So long story short, what I was signing for was a contract for 12 months and now my bill is $101.72 I was shock to receive this bill. I called the company and spoke to *** (manager) and get told that I have to keep the contract or face the cancellation fees of $200 on top of what I have to pay to the grand total of $301.72 and *** threaten to send to collection if I don't pay. Best part is *** was challenged me for if I have ring video or footage saying that ***** scamming me then he will take the charge off ( do you think that they will do it in front of camera?Account number is : ******Business Response

This is extremely predatory behavior from Hawx When the salesman showed up they made it seem like I was signing up for a one time service for $99. It didn't seem like there was any risk in signing up for a one time service. I wanted to pay with cash and they only accepted credit-card and now I understand why. I've been getting charged $50 every month and when I looked into why, I realized I was in a contract with them. When I called to cancel and get a refund on those payments, they said that is not possible and I would be charged an additional $150 to cancel. So to be clear: they want me to pay $99 + $100 + $150 = $349 for ONE SERVICE. It was not clear at all that I was getting into a contract but even if it was, that is ridiculous and completely unreasonable. Please cancel my account ASAP, refund my payments that I have not received service for, and do not charge me that predatory cancellation fee.Business Response
