      Date of transaction: 8/4/2022 Amount: $39.99 Hawx Pest Control changed their quarterly billing to monthly billing to split the **** in 3 months for quarterly services. I have been paying quarterly after each quarterly services. Without providing details on the cost increase, they increased the **** from $79/quarter to $39.99/month. They charged me $39.99 on 8/4/2022 for the Q3 service scheduled for 09/2022. When I called to cancel the service on 8/4/2022, they refused to refund the $39.99 charge because I did not call before the charges were made. Now, they cancelled my service and refused to refund the amount for which I have not received any services for.

      I have been a customer with Hawx for over a year now and have experienced multiple deficiencies with the service provided. I pay a rate of $79 per month for our house to be sprayed for mosquitos and was completely missed for the month of May 2022. The business did not offer any response except an apology of not having oversight. I also pay anther rate of $89 per quarter (4 times a year) to have my home sprayed seasonally for pests. Today, August 4, 2022, I was charged $34.99 as a reoccurring payment. I called right away to be told that prices went up and that instead of paying my usual quarterly payment of $89, I would now be charged $34.99 every month. I did not receive notification for this change and was told by an agent that I should have received an email notification yesterday August 3, 2022. I do not believe 1 day is enough notice to start charging a consumer completely differently. Everyone is hurting with prices going up and for this company to change everything with a days notice is abusive to customers.

      I signed up for Hawx Services a year ago on their 4 times a year service plan. The salesman told me they would NOT automatically renew service once the contract expired. It expired and now they charged me $39.99 and renewed my service automatically. I called 5 different service reps and everyone of them said they could NOT cancel my service and that I needed to talk to a "account specialist". They would not give me a name or phone number for the specialist and transferred me to an anonymous number where no-one ever picked up. I was simply on hold indefinitely listening to their obnoxious music until I hung up. This company is a fraud. They lied to me and now are billing me and won't let me cancel their service. ****** said a manager would call me Reference #CM328. They never did.

      At the end of june a door to door sales guy asked if we wanted service. We said no. He asked why. It was too expensive before. He said they are $40 for the initial and then they come every quarter for the same amount and can cancel any time. We agreed. They did the first service and charged me accordingly. Then at the end of July, I received a charge and receipt for $42. I looked at my account and saw that they are charging a monthly fee of $42 and that I am under a one year agreement.I saw online that the agreement that we signed showed that it was an annual contract. I asked the sales guy multiple times to make sure that wasn't the case and he promised it wasn't. He scrolled to the signature line and had me sign, and I should have read all four pages, but I took him at his word.I called to complain and **** said they couldn't do anything, so I hung up to file this complaint. Before finishing the complaint, I received a $210 cancelation fee. I called back and said I need to speak to someone, and they said someone will call me in ***** hours. It is a big scam. I asked to speak with ****. When I spoke to him, he agreed he messed up and will refund my $210 right away, but he still can't help with the contract. I need help getting resolution for an unethical sales person that lied to me multiple times to get the sale and then have me sign something that goes against everything he said.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I was lied to by the salesperson. He also scrolled past the verbiage where it said we would be charged $42 every month. He said the cost of service was $40 each time they came out and we could cancel any time. Dont want to pay almost $500 per year and be in a contract. I asked him multiple times and he said no contract and the cost was only $40 per service. 

      I was also incorrectly charged $210 by a phone rep. I called back and he admitted the mistake and would refund. I then spoke to a supervisor a week later and she said half was refunded and half was a credit. I had to fight with her to listen to the phone calls and see I was there guy. She called back a day later and admitted they were wrong and credited me. 

      I want to have service for $40 per application like I was promised or I want out of this relationship.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      I paid my first recurring charge at the end of July. That was never refunded (i never asked for it to be). The August refund you mention is the $210 that was incorrectly charged to me by a customer service rep that 100% admitted their mistake. Hawx still is not taking any ownership of a sales person who flat out lied to us. Hawx wants us to pay $480 for the year and the two options they give are $40/month or $120/quarter. I don't want their service at $480/yea because the rep said $40/actual service and cancel any time. 

      Since I want this to get to a resolution quickly and I don't want to be a customer of HAWX ever again, I have an offer. You say four services cost $480. That means one service is $120. Since I received one service already and have paid approximately $80 (the original fee and the first recurring charge). I will pay $40 to cover Hawx's cost of the first service, if the account is closed at no additional costs to me.

      On June 27 2022 a young woman knocked on my door and spoke with me about pest services. I told her I wasn't having a current problem with pest and didn't want any chemicals in my home. She said they could treat the outside of the house with granules as a preventive measure for summer pest. She said my neighbor s were having this done for ***** so I agreed to accept mostly out of empathy for this young woman. I payed for this one time service using my credit card. She swiped it on a small card reader and I signed and she said I would be emailed the receipt. The tech shows up an hour later and performs the service. I never received a copy of the receipt but I did verify that ***** was charged to my credit card.This is where the problem starts.On **** another charge of ***** appeared on my credit card.On **** I called customer service and was told that I had signed a contract authorizing service for a year. I strongly disputed this and adviced the word Contract was never mentioned. I was then told l would have to pay a ****** cancellation fee if I chose to cancel.No resolution was reached.On 8-2. I called customer service again and spoke with *****. She listened as I explained that nothing was ever mentioned about a contract. I thought she was willing to help but however she informed me if there is a contract involved that the *** and management enforce it as well as the cancellation fee. I said that when I dispute it with my credit card then Hawx will just send them a copy of the contract that I was tricked into signing and maintain that it was legally binding. She then told me that customers often close their bank accounts to avoid the service fees and or termination fee and that the company will then turn that customer over to a collection agency.No resolution as been reached.As of 8-3, I have not received a copy of the contract that they claimed I signed and I know that this company will continue to charge my credit card on the 27th of each month

      The tech that came out quoted me a price, I asked him several times (5 to be exact) if this was quarterly or monthly pricing. He ASSURED me it was quarterly billed and not monthly. He said I could cancel any time before my next service without having to pay any fee. Im now being charged the rate he quoted me monthly. This is false advertisement.

      There was a sales representative that come to my door offering to Spray for mosquitoes for a one time charge of $80 then a month later I get a bill saying theyre going to charge me $80 I called the company and they told me I had signed a one-year contract this was never explain to me I believed the sales representative when he told me it was a one time charge I called the company and they told me that they couldnt cancel that if I did so I would have to pay a cancellation fee that was about $400 I didnt have the money they told me the only thing they could do is bring the payment down to $40 a month they a tricky people into Signing contracts are not aware of Now Im stuck paying $40 a month for something I did not want

      I am rejecting this response because:the company lied to me about the service I signed  it was a contract for one year for which I had not agreed the only they they offer was to bring the price down to $40.00 a month removing my outdoor mosquito packet but I would still be on a maintenance anything that happens in my house I am covered i Called to request them to come in to my house because I had mosquitoes and they told me I had removed the packet when they had told be it wound cover everything inside my house this company will not stick to what they say

      A door to door salesman came to our home and explained they would be coming out monthly to spray our house for pests. They have charged me multiple times and I have only had the one spray. They never went over the terms with me and when I chose to cancel they say I need to pay $250.00. Its ridiculous being lied to and gouged for money.

      We had a sales rep ******** knock on our door to try and sell us a plan. We (my husband and I) repeatedly asked him the quarterly price. Multiple times he confirmed, this is your quarterly price. So a sales rep being a representation of the company, I made a big mistake taking his word For it. I realized I made a mistake. Now I am stuck with a contract for the next year. Paying nearly $88 a month. And to even cancel, Hawx wants $1800. I didnt have time to read their service agreement that he had sent, because I was leaving for a 3wk long trip the very next day. But the fact is, this sales person lied. He as a representive for their company and contracts lied to us multiple times. Sad thing is, their stuff doesnt even work well. Ive had nothing but bug issues since I had them spray. They sprayed a month ago, and Im still finding live water bugs and cockroaches in my house. When I sprayed myself, I could spray store bought stuff every three months and not have issues. I just wanted to give everyone a heads up, so it doesnt happen to you. They have a sales rep lying about their products and contracts. When I tried to call customer service and see if there was anything to do to correct this situation, they refused to help and gave me the fee price to cancel of $1800 which is more than the actual contract of $88 for 12 months. I would like Hawx to cancel services for zero fee cost, due to their sales rep lying about the contract to myself and my husband.

Both agreements were successfully delivered to you via email the day of signing. On 7/5 you received your termite station installation. You again signed a paper agreement with the tech stating you acknowledge and agree to the terms and conditions of the termite prevention agreement. You signed 3 separate documents. Each reflects your service schedule and monthly billing price per subscription. All services are covered under warranty. We are available to come back out to your home at anytime in between your regularly scheduled visits if needed at no additional cost. We will close one subscription at no additional cost with the other being fulfilled. At this time the account is active. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

      I have requested (in writing) on several occasions to have the service that I signed up for a few months back canceled. According to my records, I've requested it five times. In every instance, they reply that they cannot cancel my services without me calling their office, which, when you do, they try to hard sell you on keeping a service that you don't want or need. It's absolutely unnecessary to require a customer to call a business and endure hard sell tactics to cancel any type of contract-less service; it's 2022, absolutely every type of transaction should be manageable online or, at the bare minimum, via email correspondence.
