      05/03/2022 - Sales rep came door to door in neighborhood selling pest control services. Rep said that he could do first treatment same day for $39 and then $79 each additional treatment. Rep said that this was not a contract, but was a month to month treatment for pest control and I could cancel at any time. Rep asked that I "give him" until August for the pest control treatments to start working. Rep did not have any papers or contracts with him in hand, only his ******* No hard copy of contract provided, and I was not given any contract to review, only told to "sign here" on rep's ******* This was the date of transaction. 06/14/2022 - Called regional branch today to stop any future pest control treatments. Was then informed, for the first time, that I was bound in a 12 month contract and would have to pay $211 to break the contract. Was then emailed the contract which had my initials, but I was never informed of or shown. I then asked to speak to a manager and the regional branch of Hawx told me that they would "pass on the information to the sales manager and they may or may not call me back." I told them I was confused why the sales manager would not call back a customer that is upset with the way they handle business and again, the rep said she would "pass on the information and the sales manager will call you back if they get a chance/when they have time." I then asked for the regional sales manager's name and was told "******." I then asked what his last name was, for purposes of keeping a record of information, and was told "I am not allowed to give you that." The call ended shortly after this. Later in the day I called the main branch Hawx in UT and was told the exact same information, that she (*********) would "pass the information on to her sales manager," but did not say whether or not I would be contacted (but did not ask for a phone number).Very misleading information with lack of clarity on terms. Bait and switch business with manipulation.

      A kid came out to my house and I agreed to a one time service. It seems he had me sign a 12 month contract to be billed and receive service on a quarterly basis. Which he did not show to me he just sign here for the service so I did. I clearly and blatantly told hime I only wanted a one time service. Now I cannot get through on the phone to talk to anyone about this problem and am receiving text alerts that I need to pay them again. Not only can I not get through on the phone but it appears that no real brick and mortar location exists for me to go to. This is blatant and unacceptable business practice.

      I am rejecting this response because:
      I never agreed to sign up for a contract I was mislead by your sales person. I never was asked to review a contract on the day of sale.Just asked to sign on an ipad for the one time service I agreed to. I wasn't even aware a contract existed until just before I filed this complaint.

      Your company has numerous reviews stating the same problem occuring and your customer service rep even told me I am one of many people to call in with the same complaint recently.

      This alone should be enough to show that this is a pattern of either poor training of sales staff or just a complete lack of ethical business practices.

      A salesman came to my door on July 4th and advised they were running a special on that holiday for a free service. We went over several different areas but the salesman would not take no for an answer. He kept giving me lower rated options and we finally agreed upon one for just a select few "pests" During this 45 min long pitch he always said, "if you don't like it you can cancel at any time". He never pulled up a contract, only a grid marking off the months of the service and the "cost" (but mostly showing the $250 service today was free or whatever amount I wanted to pay.) I chose to pay nothing knowing that if I didn't like the service I can cancel. I called today to cancel and was told I had to pay the "discount service fee of $250! I'm sorry, what?? No I am not paying for the FREE service I received and I didn't like the results. The rep on the phone said "well I have your signature on the contract" No kidding!! I want to cancel the 'contract" like I was told I could with no hidden fee.

      I am rejecting this response because: the FULL contract was not made available to me prior to signing.  The salesman only showed me on his ipad the table in which the services would be provided and the amount due today.  Once I opened the contract he kept pointing out the table  and the contact number up on the top to "call and cancel at any time".  Also,  I did not receive the service within three days.  The original schedule date was cancelled by your rep due to rain.  I did not receive the service until Saturday.  How would I be able to cancel in three days if I did not even receive the service yet?  I have contacted your "customer service" line twice now and have not been helped.  The second time I called in, the rep advised that I could be transferred to a person who could negotiate the cancellation fee.  Once I was able to speak to someone, she advised me that is not correct, the cancellation fee is sent.  This would be the second time false information was given.  *********** I received was not worth $250 and it is extremely frustrated that I am being punished for your salesman not providing me with all the correct information.

      I had been told by HAWX pest control that I need to cancel their services on the 31st of July. This was our year to date to end services, I emailed and tried to get a hold of someone over the phone, but I didn't get an answer until they called up looking for a payment. They also had tried 3 times to withdraw out of my debit card before the cancelation date, but I had just recently needed a a new card and number, because my card was compromised. Then they somehow got my new card number without my say so and withdrawed a payment. I'd like to know how they got my new number, when I didn't give it out, and I told them that I wad canceling their services. A real shotty company and criminal acting.

      May 16, 2022, a young man came to my front door asking me if I would like a pest control service that was presently in the neighborhood. He promised services that would be provided that day. The cost was minimal, so I agreed to have him do and I would pay for that service. He left and a different person returned later and went through the motion, but did nothing more than spray something in the yard and tried to make his machine work, but was broke. He left after being at my home and did not complete his work. I thought the $89 dollars was a ripoff and would not be back. June 13, 2020 another person showed up and spayed front and back. Apparently when I gave them permission to do the service, they misled me into thinking I was approving the service. Instead it was a scam contract, with a sizeable cancelation fee. All a huge scam. They never did the work they promised. I paid for the initial service, but refused paying the scam fees. This company is unethical and deceitful in its business practice.

      A door to door salesman solicited my business for pest control promising a monthly fee of $ ***** for service. This is what was billed on the first service call, however, the second service call was billed at $ ***** stating the outdoor bundle was added for $ 46 per month. This was not my understanding. I feel very mislead and see there are many other complaints about this business. I called customer service in an effort to resolve. The only resolution offered was to drop the outdoor package, but my monthly would increase from $ ***** to $54.99 per month. There is also a huge early cancellation fee. The resolution I seek it to cancel all services without penalty as this is a despicable company who uses trickery to mislead for extra dollars.

      My grievance is that I signed up for service, at the time of sell, the sales agent gave me false information to make the sale. I was told you Hawx did insulation. When I scheduled the appts, I also asked about ensuring they provided the service and the booking agents response again, was to tell the onsite pest control agent what needs to be done. When he gets to my house, he says they dont provide that service, which is completely opposite of what I was told at the time of sale. When I asked to cancel my service due to being given misinformation, I was told I would be taxed with a termination fee which is completely unprofessional seeing as how I was sold the service based on a lie and had I know the service wasnt provided, I would not have purchased. I have called several times, was promised a return call, and still havent received it, nor the $420 I paid in advance.I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was put on hold and then hung up on. Also, I paid in full and the staff mentioned nothing about my refund.

      Hawx Pest Control sends salespeople out to my neighborhood at least once per week, and they always come to your door between 7:30pm to 9:30pm. I have told them several times to stop coming to my door, but they still show up at inappropriate hours every week. If I wanted their services, I wouldve called them after the first time.

      The sales person sold me on services for $39.99 a month and said I could cancel anytime for free. I was charged that for the first service and after the second visit they charged me more than double that and provided less service than the first time. I called their customer service to cancel and they told me it would be $459 to cancel and I was obligated to pay that because of the contract I signed. The phone call got disconnected after I was informed of the price and I was immediately charged the cancelation fee. I never agreed to cancel. I was going to continue services since I was tricked into signing the contract and I didn't have that much money to spare for a cancelation fee. But I didn't even get a choice in the matter. I called back and informed them what happen and all they would offer was a half refund and the other half credited towards my account. They have very bad business practices. The sales people lie to you to trick you to sign the contract so they can throw the contract in your face when you have a problem with them. They are taking advantage of people who really need their money. Now I'm out over $500 and still have a bug problem. I should've just looked up their reviews first because half of them are calling the whole business a scam.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is NOT satisfactory to me, but I dont really feel like going back and forth with this awful company. They said they would refund my monthly charge for July but they only refunded $39.99 and I was charged $85.99 for July. The three day cancellation policy doesn't even make sense because they ask you to wait two weeks to see the results from treatment before complaining. I would still like my $459 back because I never agreed to cancel, but I dont really expect to get it back. Plus $459 is absurd for a cancellation fee. I just hope **** will changed their manipulative business practices so other people don't get screwed over like me.

      I have been trying to get in contact with a manager with this fraudulent company for 2 months now!This is by far the worst experience Ive ever had with a company from the crooked salesman all the way to the managers not answering nor returning your calls!On my previous BBB review- I was told that I could keep one service for $39.99 and the other $39.99 be dismissed without penalty.A high superior called me but due to me being away from my phone I missed the call but she started that she would call me back that following Tuesday.I kept my phone by me the whole day so I wouldnt miss the call again.I never received a call back and when I tried to contact the number that left me a voicemail, I never received an answer or a call back.Ive left messages,I have saved call logs, as well as calling the main line number trying to get in contact with someone.At this point Ive tried to rectify the problem, It seems like this is the only way this company will response. Just cancel my subscription!

      Thank you for your response. Your outdoor package service covers outdoor treatment only for mosquitos, ticks, and aphids. This is a seasonal service that is performed from April-September. This subscription will be billed monthly and is a fogging treatment. Your quarterly general pest service covers indoor and outdoor treatment for all general pests. Ex: Ants, spiders, earwigs, cockroaches (excludes german cockroaches), wasps, centipedes, millipedes, boxelder bugs, crickets, silverfish, and many more species of general pests. This is a year round service that is performed on a quarterly basis. This subscription can be billed monthly or quarterly. The service is performed with liquid, granules, and dusting. Both subscriptions are covered under warranty. Please understand by being on monthly billing with bundled services your pricing will change switching to one subscription. Your outdoor package service will be $80/service and your general pest service would be either $39.99/month or $120/service. The balance on the account is past due monthly recurring charges from June and July. This balance will be handled accordingly moving forward with your account.       I have been trying to contact you guys to get this situation resolved resolved to no avail verbally.

      I even told the technician dont come out when he called until I have spoken to a manager regarding the discrepancies that the salesman falsely presented to me.

      Your records as well as mine will indicate that I have made plenty of calls, I even left voicemails leaving my contact information asking for a returned call to no avail.

      If I knew this was the only way to speak with someone from this company I would have used this method sooner.

      i also had $79.99 taken out of my account with no service.
      I will dispute the past due balance.

      As far as the different options, Ill choose the $39.99 plan.
