Was harassed at my front door by a salesman. Repeatedly told him I did not want a service and did not have any money to pay for it. Told him I needed to work and had my small child with me. This man persisted I needed the service to which I continued to say no. He then made the price so cheap, I felt I had to say yes JUST to get him to leave. The technician then showed up and explained that we signed a 2 service agreement contracts and was not aware! We immediately told him to CANCEL the service. He said YES. This was recorded text messages. A month later and we are being charged for another service. We call to see why it isn't cancelled and are told it was never cancelled and would cost $449 to terminate early. This was NOT explained to us prior. We were then put on multiple different "call back" lists only for them to call the wrong number. Finally get ahold of them and they tell us there is no one to say what exactly happened in this situation. We were left with our only option being to call the attorney. Worst customer service and horrible salesman tactics. When someone says NO 10 times and then asks to cancel, the answer is no. I would consider this an act of predatory sales. He KNEW I did not want it nor could afford it but would not leave. I did not want to get violent or yell at him to leave.Business Response

In June an employee came to my door and spoke with my son about spraying the outside of our home. After speaking with my son I told him to see if we could pay for a one time spray. The employee said that we could and it would be $65 for the one time spray. I looked at my account and noticed they took another $65 out in July. I call the company and they explained to me that we were paying for a subscription and it would be $200 to cancel. I explained to her that no we only bought a one time spray and she said well your done signed a contract for a subscription you had 3 days after signing up to cancel. I made my son call them and he spoke with a supervisor and the supervisor told him the same thing. So now Im $265 out!! I see that Im not the only one they have done this to..Business Response

In June 2022, a salesman came to my door offering services. He offered an initial fee of ***** for some spraying. He had me quickly glance over the contract for safety reason and future services and verbally told me that if I no longer wish to have the service, I could just cancel anytime. Strangely he asked if I could give it two 2 months before I tried to cancel to help make the services worth it. They immediately sprayed and killed a few beetles. They charged me ***** twice for that service. I figured they would correct the issue once they say it. They then tried to charge my card ***** before they came out for service in July 2022. Luckily I had changed cards due to fraudulent activity. They came out a day after and sprayed two trees and a ****. I called a week later to complain that I am actually getting more ants and wasp and they offered a warranty service. The warranty service came and a week later I called to cancel because nothing changed. Thats when I was given the option of another warranty service, a cancellation fee, or legal action. This is not what I expected. I no longer want to deal with Hawk pest control. Im glad to pay for that last service but I want out!!!Business Response

After review you had 3 business days to cancel at no additional cost. This was not done. You received both of your initial treatments on 6/2/22 and were charged after completion. Your monthly recurring billing then started in July. You received your monthly treatment on 7/6/22 and a warranty service on 7/13. Please understand additional services are necessary to completely eliminate your infestation. We will provide a warranty service on a day you are available to inspect and treat all areas of concern, inside and outside. We will close one subscription at no additional cost with the other being fulfilled. You were provided 2 discounts based on the 12 month agreements. These will be applied at the time of cancellation prior to services being fulfilled. At this time the account is active. Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

I am rejecting this response because: You are saying that I signed two contracts???? The guy told me it was a subscription that encompassed a quarterly spray and monthly maintenance until winter. Why do I bring up the winter season you ask???? BECAUSE the temperature around me routinely dip below 30 degrees. I have never seen mosquitos, flys, ants, wasp, etc during that period and additionally we get snowfall so this annual contract thing is a farce. What exactly am I supposed to be paying for during that time frame????? Please cancel my bogus contracts. I in good faith signed these documents believing this guy/salesman was being honest. He answered my questions, was confident in his responses, and led me to believe this was legit. Like I said, nothing has changed and I am being precharged before I even receive services. Let me out of these contracts please!!!!

Your outdoor package services are performed from April-September. This covers the exterior for mosquitos, ticks, and aphids. Your general pest services are performed every 90 days year-round. This covers your interior and exterior for all general pests. You will receive general pest services through winter with your outdoor package continuing in April. We will close one subscription at no additional cost with the other being fulfilled. We will place you on monthly or quarterly payments based on how you would like to proceed.

In May, a door to door salesman came to our door offering pest control services for mosquitoes and ants. My husband agreed to the price offered as a one time service as had been described by the salesman. We now know that this was a bait and switch scam and we were signed up for a 12 month billing program without our consent or knowledge. Our yard was treated in May and we were billed again in June. We called Hawx customer service to inquire about the new charge and were advised at that time of the monthly billing and told if we cancelled, there would be a cancellation fee of over $400. I requested to speak with a supervisor and was advised someone would call me back within 24 hours which never happened. That same day, I saw a ************ tech at my neighbor's house performing a service. My husband received an email that night advising our pest control service had been completed. No one ever came to our yard however. We now know that the service tech sprayed the wrong yard without my neighbor's knowledge or authorization. I contacted Hawx customer service again and they refuse to refund any of our money (even though our yard was never treated in June as they sprayed the wrong yard). I spoke with the regional manager **** after requesting that my call be escalated. He advised he would look into rectifying the situation but he never called me back. We have now been billed for another $100 service and the ******* refuses to refund anything or to cancel our account without fees. I have no faith in this ******* or their services based on the bait and switch, spraying the wrong address, and managers and supervisors do not follow through on callbacks promised by customer service reps. **** ******* is completely fraudulent and no one should consider doing business with them. We are requesting assistance in getting our account completely closed (without the cancellation fee)and a refund issued for the $200 of unauthorized charges.Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would like to add however, that this company has over 760 complaints for the same issue that I had. ************ should not be allowed to continue operating. They are a complete scam and will continue to rip people off and misrepresent their services and contracts. I honestly believe there should be a class action lawsuit against them for their deceitful business practices.

I paid for pest control services. The services did not occur for the following months paid: ***** 2022, May 2022, June 2022. Hawx was scheduled to service on 6/22. Did not show or call to cancel. I rescheduled for July 8, 2022 after long holds and phone calls to Hawx. Again no call or show on July 2022 after being paid for several months and no service. July 15 I canceled my services. They continued to try to **** me for monthly services. After talking to 3 people on the phone and many transfers on 7/28/22, they zerod my amount due but refuse to reimburse for payments I made for ***** and May and June. $39 monthly x three. They offered to reinstate my account but bridges has been burned and I am not willing to host them on my property. I was a customer for over 6 years and they no longer treat their customers well. In June Hawx pest control came to my house and offered to spray for a discounted price because they were doing other homes in the neighborhood. They had me sign for the treatment but NEVER explained that I was signing a contract for a full year of services. When they came back next month I told them I did not need them to spray again and THAT is the first I heard of this year of services. I called to cancel and they tried to charge me early termination fees, one fee being $200 and she didn't even tell me the other one. Their business is a scam and I do not want to be charged for something I had no knowledge of. I want out of this contract that I didn't know was a contract, and do not want to be charged to cancel the contract I didn't know about.Business Response

One member of the company came to my door on 5/26/2022 to offer a trial outdoor pet control spray for $30. I agreed and gave him my credit card for payment. Since then the company kept billing monthly service charge of ***** that they never provide service. I called them to tell them stop the billing because I didnt request any service after the first trial offer, but they in turn stating that I signed a contract with them which I never did. I need your authorization to resolve this matter and put this company on notice for fraud do people are aware of them. In April of 2022 researched *****'s List re pest control. In response Hawx Pest Control called me. They explained their services and wanted me to authorize a contract and payment plan. I refused. Subsequently over the next +2 weeks various agents of Hawx called me back with various offers none of which I accepted.At no time has Hawx been to my home.On June 6, 2022 I recieved email and text informing me that my payment was due. I have been billed for 4 months of pest control service that has never been provided. I have asked my account be closed in writing and they refuse unless I call. I am currently overseas and not able to call and I have informed them. They refuse to close the account and continue to **** for services not provided.
