As of February, 15, 2024 when our initial permit was approved to today, January 21, 2025, Blue Raven has done nothing on our project. All we get from them is a runaround and lies. Every time we send them an email and/or text asking the status, they respond that this has been forwarded to another team/division and then we hear nothing. This company is the biggest scammer we have ever seen in our entire life. We do not see how they can be in business and have the rating they have especially seeing all the complaints that we see. We also noticed that their Nevada Business License is in default as of this writing. As you can see it has been almost a year and nothing has been done. We signed a contract and we have sent them numerous emails that we want our $1,000.00 deposit back and we do not want them to renew the permit as we will not pay them anything. We want our project completed or the $1,000.00 deposit back. We want a definitive date that they will be here to install the solar panels with no more excuses for delays or forwarding our emails to another team/division within Blue Raven.Business Response

Due to supply chain challenges affecting Tesla products, we have transitioned to using Enphase batteries, which offer the same high quality and reliability. This change in battery will not impact the pricing of the system.
Our team is actively working with specialists on this project to gather the necessary information, and we will be reaching out to the customer with updates. To ensure a smooth process, we will designate a single point of contact for all questions and communications.
At this time, we do not have a definitive installation date; however, our specialist will remain in close communication with the customer to provide regular updates and clarity on the next steps.Initial Complaint

The adjustment in panel placement was made to optimize system efficiency. Based on information provided by the customer, we were informed that the burnt trees at the south side of the home were going to be removed. This tree removal would enhance the system's production, as the production estimates were calculated with the assumption that the trees would no longer obstruct sunlight. Removing or trimming these trees will further increase the savings the solar system can provide.
Regarding state and federal income tax incentives, these programs are established and managed by the federal government, not Blue Raven Solar. These incentives come with specific eligibility requirements and stipulations determined by the government. While our contract includes general information about federal tax incentives, we encourage customers to consult a tax professional to confirm their individual eligibility.
The terms and structure of loan payments are determined by the financier and not by Blue Raven Solar. The increase in loan payments is due to the re-amortization of the loan. Solar loans are initially set at a lower payment rate under the assumption that customers will apply their federal tax credit amount to the loan. If this payment is not made within 18 monthsallowing time to claim the tax creditthe loan re-amortizes to ensure it is paid off within the agreed-upon term. If a customer is not eligible for the tax credit, they can still choose to apply an amount equivalent to the tax credit towards the loan to maintain the lower monthly payment. Blue Raven cannot adjust or influence this billing process.Initial Complaint

Excessive Charges for Panel Removal and Reinstallation:After having my solar panels installed by Blue Raven Solar, I was forced to replace my roof only one year later. Blue Raven Solar charged me an exorbitant fee of $13,000 to remove and reinstall the panels. I believe this cost is unreasonable, especially considering the short timeframe between the initial installation and the roof replacement.Lack of Service During Initial Period:Despite the premium costs associated with their services, Blue Raven Solar failed to provide any servicing or maintenance within the first two years of installation. This lack of proactive customer support has only exacerbated my dissatisfaction.Non-Functioning Panels and Inspection Fee:Less than a year after the panels were reinstalled, they are no longer functioning. When I reached out to Blue Raven Solar to resolve this issue, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional $450 for an inspection. I find this demand unreasonable and unprofessional, especially given that the panels were reinstalled so recently and the company has not fulfilled their responsibility to ensure proper operation. This series of events has left me frustrated and feeling as though I have been subjected to unfair business practices. I believe Blue Raven Solars actionsincluding the excessive removal and reinstallation fee, the lack of servicing, and the additional charge to inspect their own workdemonstrate a lack of commitment to customer satisfaction and responsible business practices.I kindly request that the Better Business Bureau intervene to help resolve this matter. Specifically, I would like Blue Raven Solar to:Refund or significantly reduce the $13,600 fee for the removal and reinstallation of the panels.Waive the $450 inspection fee and promptly address the issue with my non-functioning panels at no additional cost.Provide a clear explanation of policies regarding servicing and maintenance to avoid future misunderstandings.Business Response

The customer has 48 panels on their roof, and the cost for removing, reinstalling, and making new roof penetrations is $13,000. This price accurately reflects the scope and complexity of the work required and is what Blue Raven views as fair.
At Blue Raven, we provide customers with the necessary tools to monitor their solar systems independently. It is the customers responsibility to track their systems production and notify us if repairs are needed. Given the scale of our operations and our smaller labor force, it is not feasible for us to monitor every system continuously. The tools we provide allows customers to oversee their systems performance and ensure timely communication when issues arise. When issues occur Blue Raven tries to address and fix problems quickly to allow for minimal loss in production. The $450 inspection fee covers a comprehensive process. Our crew visits the property to assess the repairs needed and, whenever possible, completes the work during the initial visit. If additional visits are required, this assessment allows us to establish a clear scope of work, ensuring a more efficient resolution. This approach minimizes time spent at the customers home while expediting the repair process. The system, installed in 2021, is now outside of Blue Ravens warranty coverage. As a result, any future work required on the system will no longer be covered by Blue Raven, and the customer will be responsible for covering the cost of any necessary repairs or services.Initial Complaint

We had Blue Raven Install Solar Panels in October 2022. We signed a contact that states Blue Raven will cover a portion of our loan bill for 5 years. This is a major reason why we went with Blue Raven for this service. We got a letter last year saying that Blue Raven is struggling to honor their financial obligations but that we would continue to receive our credits as laid out in our signed contract. We have received 2 credit checks over the past 6-8 months when our contract states we would receive these credits every month. Blue Raven owes us the money for these credits through the end of their contractual obligation to us.Business Response

As part of the recent acquisition by Complete Solar, we have transitioned to a new banking partner. This change has temporarily interrupted our previous payment mailing processes. Previously, our bank handled the preparation and mailing of checks on our behalf. However, we are now required to manage this process in-house. To ensure timely payments, several departments have stepped in to assist with preparing and mailing checks. We are committed to fulfilling our obligations and ensuring our customers receive the payments they are owed.
A payment will be sent shortly to cover this month's required payments. Additionally, we are actively working on solutions to address and resolve any delays in past payments. When a solution has been reached we will update all affected customers with the plan and what to expect.Initial Complaint

I constantly get marketing calls from Blue Raven Solar. All of the marketing calls are from the area code (360) from *****, **. Every time I answered, they would tell me theyre from Blue Raven Solar and tried to get me to sign up for their solar/services. I had repeatedly told them that I am not interested and had kindly requested them to not call again. Im also on the Do Not Call registry, so they should not be contacting me in the first place. However, things just get worse from there. Ive lost count of the number of times they called me. When I blocked their numbers, they would change to a different number and kept calling and calling, seemingly without any end. I am so fed up with this. I need Blue Raven Solar to stop contacting me and never to contact me again. Here are the some of numbers they were calling from:***************** ***************** ***************** ***************** ***************** ***************** - most recent one 1/8/2025Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: I am still receiving unsolicited calls from this Blue Raven Solar. Very appreciated to received a response from the company and ensuring that I wont be receiving any more calls. I thought it would the end of it, but Im still receiving calls. It seems like they are calling me daily now. These two numbers are the most recent ones: *****************, *****************. These came after the business responded to my complaints. I found it to be very upsetting and frustrating as I thought the problem would resolved. My phone number constantly receive important calls that is outside of my contact list, so I have to pick up all calls. Having Blue Raven Solar constantly calling me like this is complete unacceptable. Please remove from your [Blue Raven Solar] contact.

I signed up for solar installation with Blue Raven in Nov 2023. They completed the install Mar 2024. Before installing, they did several roof inspections and told me that my roof had another 10 years of life. In Sept 2024 my home insurance company sent me a notice that they would cancel my policy if I didn't repair the roof. I had two Roofing contractors come inspect the roof and told me it was time for a new roof! They told me it had about 1 year left at most. So now I have a $26,000 solar system on my roof that needs to be replaced and I'll have to pay at least $10,000 just to have the system taken down and put back up on the new roof!
Also, the solar power the system is generating is not even being reported to the power company! So my power bills are still super high PLUS I have a solar payment on top of that.
Avista Power said they received 17kw of power and billed me for 941kw of power in Nov 2024
They received 98kw of solar power and billed me for 806kw of power in Oct
They received 179kw of power in Aug and billed me for 998kw of power
I need Blue Raven to remove this system from my roof and provide me with a full refund so that I can have my roof replaced as required by my home insurance.
I have called Blue Raven customer support to discuss these issues repeatedly, and still there is no resolution. I've emailed the customer support manager, Kyle Taylor, several times in early Dec 2024 and still eagerly waiting for a response.Business Response

We are aware of the customer's situation and have scheduled a work order for January 9th to evaluate the condition of their roof and provide a second opinion on its durability. Once the assessment is complete, we will communicate the findings to the customer and outline the necessary next steps. Additionally, we will ensure that the relevant departments keep the customer informed of the survey results throughout the process.Initial Complaint

On Tuesday December 10th 2 Residential sellers from Blue Raven solar knocked on my door with no permits.I contacted the Renton tax licensing office and they do not have the business registered to do door to door sales today. This is an unpermitted residential sales tactic. This business should not put their sales people at risk and should follow the law.Business Response

To help homeowners learn about the benefits of renewable energy, our appointment setters go door-to-door with information on these benefits. These setters are not there to sell anything, nor do they have the means to sell anything. However, they provide information and, if more specific details are wanted, they will set an appointment with a solar consultant for a later date and time. Nonetheless, we have brought this to the attention of sales management to address with the local representatives.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:I have asked you to terminate the management that put your residential workers afoul of local regulations, such that your workers are protected and such that local laws end up being obeyed. Any (sales) manager that puts ground level employees at risk in this manner is not fit for management and does not show good judgement.
No mention was made of action taken against responsible parties - and the crux of my request is that you address how you will hold your sales department leadership accountable. This ensures that local laws will be upheld in the future and your business practices are concomitant with your BBB accreditation.

Blue Raven Solar My complaint is about receiving incorrect information about the amount of money I would receive back when I filed my taxes. I was told I would receive a check from the *** for the amount of money that was over my taxes for the year which is only around $600. So I would be getting a check for the approximately $8000 to $11,000. So I could use that to apply to the loan. This was totally incorrect and would take like 20 to 25 years to receive these tax savings, When I fund this out, I immediately called to cancel and while they spent a half hour trying to get me to change my mind, I was then finally told that to cancel would cost me $1215.00 for all the work that they had done. Being mislead I did not feel like I should have owed them anything. While I realize they had done work, I never would have agreed to commit to this installation if the true facts had been known. I'm 78 and 20 to 25 years does not work for me: getting the refund so I could pay it off sooner was what I needed. Not sure anything can be done but wanted to file a complaint against there business for incorrect information which definitely changes the contract.Business Response

On page 3 of the customers Home Improvement Contract, the terms and conditions for terminating the project are detailed, including the rescission window and the cancellation fee. This charge accounts for not only the costs associated with permits and interconnection applications but also the significant engineering work our team has completed in designing the customer's ********************** system.
Regarding the tax credit, the signed contract includes a full page dedicated to clarifying the tax credit and advising customers to consult with a tax professional. Additionally, this disclosure states that the tax credit information provided by Blue Raven Solar is for informational purposes only and should not be the sole source of guidance. As the tax credit originates from the government, it cannot be guaranteed by Blue Raven Solar. A copy of this signed disclosure, along with the accompanying Introductory Call recording, can be provided upon request.
Further supporting the signed disclosure, during the recorded Introductory Call, the customer was informed that the "tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction in the federal taxes you may owe," and that "the credit and the amount you may receive will depend on your tax situation." The customer expressed no concerns in response to this explanation. Later in the call, it was also stated that Blue Raven Solar does not guarantee any promises made by the sales representative, only those included in the written agreement.Initial Complaint

11/12/2024 Soliciting at my door with a visible no soliciting sign. When told to leave and stop coming to my home the solicitor proceeded to tell me if I bought solar it would stop. This is not the 1st time I have had to tell a solicitor from this company no. My city code requires a permit to solicit and in that code it says it is illegal to trespass and solicit at homes with a no soliciting sign. They do not deserve an A+ rating with the BBB if their business practice is to continue illegally trespassing in order to try to sell their product.Business Response

The salesperson from the solar company came around to my mother's residence and tried to sell her solar panels for the house. My mother who is 83 years old and suffers from dementia is not all together in her mind and has been susceptible to people trying to sell her things. I came to find out later that they sold her solar panels with a contract for 30 years. I received a copy of the contract emailed to me to review and realized that the electronic signature on the contract was misspelled all throughout the contract. Also, the email address that was used in the contract did not even belong to her so in fact that she would never receive any emails from the company or finance company. The other issue is that she is not the owner of the house so she wouldn't have authority to sign for a 30 year contract for solar panels. I found out that the salesperson who really signed the contract and not my mother doesn't even work for the company anymore. It amazes me that she is the only elder person in the neighborhood and the only one that has these ridiculous solar panels and that is because no else was susceptible to this salesperson.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Even though that employee may or may not be employed with your company any longer the fact of the matter is that when this employee was they were representing your business. This case of fraud dealing with an elderly person is not the first time this has happened with a solar panels company. It may or may not be the first time for your business but it has happened with an employee of your business. It definitely appears that there are no checks and balances with these salespeople and this is one incident where the salesperson took liberty into their own hands to sign up an elderly person suffering with dementia. It amazes me how no one even cared or asked themselves why would someone whom is 83 years old would sign up for a 30 year loan for solar panels. I guess it didn’t matter as long as another sale was recorded and just move on to the next one.

Blue Raven Solar is continuing to investigate the claims made here but wanted to provide information on what we have found so far. Blue Raven Solar has a series of checks and balances to ensure that customers are informed of certain important matters in the solar process, such as signing up for loans and allowing our technicians onto the premises. We ask all customers to sign a Home Improvement Contract and complete a subsequent introductory call with our corporate office.
During the introductory call, the customer was asked if they were the one who signed the contract and was then explained the terms of their loan, monthly payment, and the solar promotion they had signed on for. The customer responded in the affirmative and provided us with the email address to send all further communications. We also communicated with the customer several times after that introductory call to schedule multiple site visits and receive the customer’s signature on supplementary documents, such as the interconnection application. It’s important to note that the customer’s sales representative left Blue Raven Solar in May 2023. Several of our documents were sent to the customer via the email address provided during the introductory call in July 2023 and were signed by the customer as well.
We first heard from the customer’s son in March 2024. He made us aware of a potential problem with the system, which we helped him coordinate, and we processed reimbursement for it. In our communication with the customer’s son from March 2024 until now, he has never raised concerns about his mother’s mental capacity. It is only now, after the customer’s promotion of 18 months of reimbursements for the solar payments she has been making, that these claims have been brought to our attention for investigation. We will be continuing to investigate all correspondence with the customer to determine if there was any reason to believe the customer was not in the mental capacity to buy our product.Customer Answer

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:
First, the email address you have listed in the contract DOES NOT belong to my mother. At the time you claim the salesperson sold her the solar panels she did not have a computer nor Internet service which would negate the fact of her having any email address. So, when you were emailing those forms and someone was supposedly signing them in her name, there was identity theft being committed. I reached out to you in 2024 when I found out that solar panels had been installed on her house. I do not live in Georgia with my mother so I had no idea that she was being taken advantage of by a member of your company. You claim that you have checks and balances but it seems that scale is tipped toward your company making profit at the expense of elderly people. When I asked her about it she couldn’t produce any paperwork because nothing was being sent to her directly but instead being sent to the person committing identity fraud. I had to call the company just to get a copy of the contract that she was never provided. You obviously have never spoken to an elderly person suffering from dementia because they will agree to almost anything not realizing what is involved over the phone. That is why it is so easy for criminals to take advantage of elderly people and they need to be protected from that type of person. I would like for you to produce those documents that was supposedly signed by her so that I could take a look at them and examine the signature because I can guarantee that it was not her signature on those documents. As far as your interconnection goes, the system never was online properly all the way from 2023 until 2024 when I made that known and your technician said that was because there was no Internet service to get it connected to your application. That goes into the statement I previously made about there being no Internet service because she had no computer no Internet service and no email address. The fact is your sales person that worked for your company pulled a fast one and then left the company before any of this could be brought to light. As for the promotional reimbursements of 18 months, please produce the cashed checks of those supposed reimbursements that you claim my mother made. I guarantee there are not 18 months worth of checks from your company cashed under her name. So, does that mean someone at your company has been pocketing the checks for themselves?
Sincerely,

I’d like to reiterate that Blue Raven Solar does not condone any actions that would take advantage of our customers. Our sales representatives undergo extensive training to avoid and disapprove of such behavior. If evidence of such misconduct comes to light, the employee in question is immediately terminated. We cannot confirm or deny any actions taken by the sales representative, as they operate independently in terms of meeting and communicating with customers.
As our investigation continues, we have now reviewed all of the recorded calls with the customer. These calls have been examined by both our Customer Support Manager and our Quality Review Manager. On several occasions, we found that the customer appeared to understand the responsibilities required of her to complete the project and seemed eager to continue the process. A copy of these calls will be provided upon request. We found no indications that would have alerted our corporate coordinators to any issues, and the customer did not appear to be unaware of the situation in any capacity.
Regarding the customer’s access to the internet, we stand by the fact that the customer provided an email address for communication during the introductory call. Additionally, as part of the installation process, our installation crews must connect to the customer’s home internet to commission the system and complete the installation. During this process, the crew was able to successfully commission the customer’s system. Evidence of this will also be provided upon request.
Lastly, after confirming with our accounting department, we can verify that at least 11 of the customer’s 18 promotional reimbursement checks have been cashed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:The email address was never given by mother to the salesperson as her email address. That email address does not belong to her and never did. If you are conducting a proper investigation then you should be able to trace the origin of the email address and IP address and you will see that it never belonged to my mother. Being that the email address was fraudulently used in the contract it made sure that no necessary paperwork was received by mother. Your well trained salesperson willingly misled her to believe that the checks you were sending her would be coming all the time to payoff the solar panels. You still haven’t provided proof of those eleven checks that have been deposited by my mother. Where is the other signed paperwork that you supposedly emailed to the bogus email address that your well trained salesperson made up to put on the contract? Also, she was not made aware of what the actual total cost of the solar panels would be. Would someone in their right mind who is 83 years old with no job and financial means of paying for these solar panels actually sign this loan contract? No they wouldn’t but someone suffering from dementia would sign off. That didn’t seem to bother your well trained salesperson because all he cared about was fraudulently electronically signing her name incorrectly on the contract to make a sales for your company and fatten your pockets. You claim that your well trained people talked to her on the phone and everything sounded good but you never questioned why the name on the contract is misspelled all throughout it. That would be because the salesperson didn’t know how to fraudulently spell her name on the contract correctly and it is very apparent that he never asked for identification. It seems to me since you trained this salesperson so well that your whole company must be involved in elder abuse and maybe this is a class you teach to defraud them. You said that your team had a connection to the Internet when they were first were out there, well if that is true then why did you have to send another solar panel company out there after I called to complain to get the system connected? But the biggest flaw in your scam is you never even asked if she owned the home and if her name is on the deed. The owner of the house would have to sign off on anything being installed.
Sincerely,

The investigation of these claims is ongoing and currently we have referred
the concerns to our legal team for further investigation. This step is to
ensure that all aspects of the matter are evaluated comprehensively and fairly.
Blue Raven Solar has completed its contractual obligations of the project and
matters relating to ending the customer’s loan are not under Blue Raven Solar’s
control and resides under the jurisdiction of the Financier, Goodleap.
While we deeply sympathize with the customer’s situation, from our review
so far, there is no evidence that Blue Raven Solar was informed or made aware
of any challenges the customer may have been facing during the process. The
customer actively participated in key steps, including scheduling and
completing multiple site visits (such as the initial survey, installation, and
final inspection), and we worked to ensure these steps were clear and
collaborative. The sales representative in question is not a direct employee of
Blue Raven Solar but operates as an independent contractor. While we provide
comprehensive training and set clear expectations for professional conduct, any
behavior outside these guidelines was undertaken independently by the
contractor and does not align with Blue Raven’s standards or ethical values in
any way.
