      Aptive Pest Control (or Aptive Environmental?) sends salespeople to my door at least once or twice per year. Despite the prominently displayed "No soliciting" sign next to my front door, they knock anyway. Today I opened the door only a crack and told the guy to take note of the 'No soliticing" sign, then closed the door and walked away. He knocked on the door AGAIN and insisted he was not selling anything but just "letting you know that we'll have trucks in the neighborhood and will probably be flushing out some pests..." and then started to launch into telling me about how they can get into my house. Obviously this is a sales pitch, and a poor one. They have no trucks in my neighborhoos and most likely will not in the near future - I have NEVER seen them in the neighborhood despite them coming around at least once and twice a year and saying they will be in the neighborhood. Also, I had seen this guy about half a mile from my house when I was taking a walk. This is not targeted to the immediate area around any home that is being treated. These are unnecessarily aggressive sales tactics. If they were a reputable business or good at what they do, customers who need their services would come to them. Besides, sending salespeople door-to-door during a pandemic is irresponsible.

      I am rejecting this response because:

      There are a lot of people who live in my neighborhood and in surrounding neighborhoods who are currently complaining about this particular salesman being rude, pushy, and trespassing. This has been going on for months, many people have reported it, and nothing has changed despite complaints to the company. I called the company to complain over a week ago, they assured me this would be reported to the local office and management, yet neighbors are still complaining about this particualr salesman's visits to their homes yesterday.

      Aptive Environmental was selling door to door in our neighborhood. I agreed to try the service on the basis that it would be quarterly like my prior service. They came in May, came back again in June and want to come back again in August without explanation. The service is too frequent and not that good. I canceled. and my phone call was cut off. I spoke briefly to a CSR and was transferred to someone who would be able to cancel the service. Frankly, it was horrible and I would not recommend the company or service to anyone.

      A representative from Aptive showed up on my doorstep claiming they were the area leader. They attempted to sell me their pest control product. I stated I was already under contract with a pest control service. They ask me which one. I told them. They said they switched a ton of my neighbors from that same company who were under contract. This I don't believe as there is a hefty cancellation fee for canceling the contract. I said I needed to go back to work. They said it would be really short. They kept trying to sell me their product. I said I needed to go back to work and told them I'd give them my email to send me information. They stated they couldn't do that. They kept trying to sell me their service. I once again told them I had to go to work and to mail me information on their service. They stated they couldn't do that either. Eventually, I just went back into my house while the rep kept trying to sell me their services. This is absolutely ridiculous. I don't care what this company's rating is here on BBB, but this is not acceptable sales practice. Also, who in the world in 2022, can't send information via email, yet, not via mail, either? It seemed like a bunch of falsehoods or this company really doesn't get it.

      Aptive pest **ntrol solicitor came to my home. I signed up for service. I was told by salesman that he would text me a **py of the **ntract. He never sent **ntract. I was told I can easily cancel within 3 days. I called and kept getting switched to other reps who said they **uldn't help me cancel as they were only a sales rep. **** happened 3 times before i was hung up on. I tried to cancel via the app messenger. Same thing happened as the phone calls. The tech today did not remove the entire yellow jacket nest. He only knocked the bottom part off. The queen is still in *********** are rebuilding nest, but are now aggressive. Tech also did not spray for ants. (I left during service. He didn't know my teenager was inside watching) How can I cancel my **ntract when no one from ** is able to help me? I feel ripped off and deceived. I posted in my local fb group, and others have had issues as well.

      Signed up with Aptive to get rid of fruit flies in my house which was ineffective. Ended up buying a product on Amazon to get rid of the fruit flies. Called Aptive and asked that my membership be discontinued and my money refunded. Was told they would not refund the money although the service they provided did not yield any results. I want all my $400 plus refunded. Theyre ineffective.

      I was total by the sales rep ******* Child) the payment of $169 would cover the entire 8-9 service and I double checked with him. But instead I found out that the service was $169 per treatment, which is a misrepresentation and I call the customer service. They totally denied everything and told me over and over again I signed the contract....

      Company is not honorable. Paid for services but the services didn't work. Had to have them out several times and it did not do a thing except get gunk on my house that we had to clean. Have spoken too many times with their customer and loyalty department without getting anything resolved except for me ending up paying do to be contracted even though they didn't deliver. They discontinued their mosquito services (which I paid for) and the technician told me it didnt work but since I paid for it he can apply it if i want. Kind of a stupid question since you told me it didn't work so why would I want more chemicals in my yard? ************ is one of the worse I've ever dealt with. Their sales person lied to get the sale saying my neighbors signed up...they didn't. Buyer beware.

      On July 25 a door-to-door salesman from Aptive Environmental persuaded me that his company could solve my red wasp (nests in my home's *****) and ant problems. He convinced me to commit to a two year contract. The initial treatment would be $99 and two subsequent treatments of $149 each for the first year. The same agreement for the second year brings the total to $794. A different person show up an hour later to provide the service. He sprayed around my house and yard. Four days later the wasps are still thriving in my house's ***** and the ants are still raiding my dog's food bowl on the front porch. I complained to Aptive on July 28 and they agreed to waive the $99 initial treatment fee and retreat my yard on August 11. This is not acceptable to me. I want to be released from the contract. I should not be obligated to pay almost $800 for a service that does not provide what the salesperson promised. A retreatment that merely repeats the first ineffective treatment will not fulfill Aptive's side of the agreement, which was to rid my home of red wasps and ants. I do not have a copy of the agreement because I signed and initialed it on an electronic device controlled by ********************'s representatives.

      I am one of many complaints filed with the BBB for the business practices of Aptive. You can refer to a complaint filed 7/21/2022 from a resident of Brookhaven. My complaint is almost word for word. This company has a door to door solicitation campaign in ***************. *********** has a city ordinance in place that restricts door-to-door solicitation on residential property unless a permit has been approved and registered with the city and EACH and EVERY employee displays the watermarked documentation. These "sales people" do not have the credentials. Why would a company - with an active legal department I'm certain - not canvass the cities/municipalities to determine and abide by the laws. I have no respect for such a company. These folks are obnoxious and rude. Nextdoor is full of posts about these encounters. They stand in front of your vehicle, they argue with you - a young lady on Saturday informed me I don't know the codes in the city where I live, Many are on a type of standing go cart that is a safety risk to residents and themselves! You cannot get a live person - only robo operators. I spoke with a police officer Saturday and he relayed they get many, many calls on Aptive. Why does this company think it is exempt from the same laws to which the rest of us abide and then go to great lengths to make themselves unavailable?

      I accept my address being placed on "do not contact". 

       

      I am rejecting this response because it does not address the violation or our city ordinance and the fact that you (1) cannot get a real person of authority and (2) messages left for the manager to return the call go unanswered. 

       

      If necessary, I can contact local television stations that try to help with notifications/resolutions to issues.  Also, I'm happy to involve my councilman if Aptive will provide contact information for staff. 

       

      The police and our council members have to field too many calls because of Aptive choosing to not do the right thing in our city.
