      UNRELIABLE: Started Capital One credit card account in April 2016, never made a late payment, maintained a balance/debt of less than 75% the credit limit... NONE of this makes a difference if you need to trust that a purchase using Capital One credit card will be accepted.As a result of Capital One credit card declining the purchase of Apple ear pods (gift to son) they will not arrive in time. This decline came with absolutely no advanced warning/notice or explicable reason. ************ initially, accepted the purchase online (providing a delivery date that was in time for the occasion). Since the declined transaction... having to reorder the ear pods... now the delivery will be 4 days later and too late for the occasion.What happened? After the purchased seemed to go through, I noticed an email from Capital One that the payment was declined (past tense). Not suspended or on hold declined. I would need to go through the process and attempt to purchase the item again. The Capital One representative explained that they can decline any payment at any time without warning as per their agreement with customers. (By the way, my terms and conditions agreement from 2016 is not available online so I've requested it to be mailed.)When asked why the purchase was deemed suspicious, the rep stated that they didn't know but it was probably because the transaction was with a new vendor that I never purchased from before. Absolutely ridiculous! Result: I'm paying off my balance with Capital One credit card then cancelling the account. Who needs an unreliable credit card?

      I am a Disabled Veteran, I have my direct deposit in their checking account, and savings account and credit card, yet Ive been stranded 4 days without money due to their hold time of funds , Im dumping this place

      9/2/22 I wish I could give 2 thumbs down and no stars Do not open up any accounts with this company!I was Racially profiled and was told another customer had money taken out of their account. Which clearly has nothing to do with me, My account was flagged due to making multiple payment from my BOFA account. I was told my bank account info was not available . All lies my bank account info was set up July 2021 . My account number and routing number and debit card info is on the capital one application. I make all payments transfer etc . I had the supervisors to read back all payments I made including my BOFA four digit card number. The supervisor also called my bank on a 3 way called to verify my BOFA checking account . The supervisor stated they can not wait on hold over 10min to get bank verification, anyone with common sense should know bank hold times can be longer than 10 minutes.I had to make 3 calls to capital one to contact my bank to verify my account I also emailed the Ceo ***************************

      I strongly don't recommend this company. I was using my cards like regular and they restricted my cards for no reason. On the first card, they said my payment activity was suspicious because I was making too many payments and that they need to verify my checking account. My checking account is with them so it makes no sense that I was on the phone with them and they three-wayed themselves on the phone. I was required to repeat my entire social security number over the phone which is a huge security risk. I was entirely uncomfortable with that. Additionally, the guy sounded so unsure and sketch about it, I'm not entirely sure it was a capital one employee. For my other card, they are requiring that I send them a picture of my id!! That is absolutely ridiculous especially considering that they have been hacked recently. Capital One is excepting me to turn over sensitive info with no safeguards and I'm disgusted. They need to be investigated by the Consumer Financial ******************

      Why do they send you so many pre-approval letters! When you do decide to try them they turn you down! I totally think that is cruel! Such B.S. I will never try this bank or for a credit card ever again! What horrible reviews, I'm glad they turned me down!

      All these bad reviews how much longer is capital 9ne allowed to strong arm people. This company is sooooo corrupt it is unbelievable. If you have to go to courts subpoena the phone records. Or record the calls yourself. As long as you inform them you are recording the call. There is nothing they can do. Although they do get really uncomfortable when you tell them that you are recording. I just wish I could see there face at that time. ??

      I rate them as poor customer service. When calling to disgusted my bill they have me on the phone for an hour or more. Just to tell me my billing is correct after I've going over explaining my bill and the fees.It just *****. I have a sak's card and **** just gave them my information with out my consent. They is the new financial Bank that took over ***'s Card members!They is ripping me off in interests feed.I had a special promotion that supposed to be interested free for twelve months. And also had a regular bill before the promotion with interested. Well I pay the promotion purchase off before the 12 month. And call in to explain my promotional bill that looking into it shows where I paid it off. They still insist on keeping my promotion on my bill which takes away my regular bill and payments being made. When I pay my bill they take off the top for the promotion bill and then take for interested and the apply to my regular bill. That's make my regular bill going up higher. When they can see we're I've paid off my promotional bill. And they will not removed that from my bill so I can pay my regular bill and pay it day. That's my money going to a fraudulent account. And they refuse to do so.

      Absolutely horrendous experience. 4 years ago I have opened a "secured credit card" with them, paying a $300 deposit. I've made a terrible choice, because this is a card without any benefits, while many of their competitors offer cash back and rewards on their secured cards. But that's not even the issue. I was lied to by their representatives that the card will eventually be "graduated" to non-secure one, with a higher balance and refunded deposit. 4 years of full payments on time, card still "secured" and not graduated. I said enough is enough and closed the account, more than a month ago. I have not yet received my deposit back. The automated answering machine informed me it will take between 60 and 90 days to issue a refund. What century do you live in?! 90 days?! Run away, terrible company.

      **************** quality is at decline at very high pace. It used to be excellent prior 2015. Now, agents does not understand the problem, neither transfer the call to knowledgeable person but drop it after putting on few minutes hold. This happened multiple times with me, increasing customer frustration only.Online Chat and online message options gave been removed and customers are left helpless on hopeless phone banking agents.

      Capitol one closed my CC account after 4yrs of 100% on time payment. Spent 2 hrs on the phone being transferred between depts and was never given a legitimate answer. I had over payed my line of credit and then told I still had a balance that would be sent to collections. This is fraud.
