My doctor recently transitioned over to MyEyeDoctor. If you are looking for a local, small business with a personal touch of the private practice, then MyEyeDoctor is not for you. If you want to do your dealings on-line or by pressing menu choices on a phone without a personal interaction, then MyEyeDoctor is for you. Nothing is ever simple when dealing with a large corporation. Although they never let me know when my glasses were in stock, I cannot complain about the quality of my office experience as a whole because it was virtually the same. It is a shame because I have decided to forego my longtime eye doctor (Doctor Alberts) because of the frustrating experience of setting up an appointment and doing the whole on-line thing. I will find another local private doctor where I am not just a number.MyEyeDr

Having to wait long periods of time just to check out because others are getting glasses is unacceptable. I will be changing eye doctors. This is no way to run this type of businessMyEyeDr

4 starsI have been a patient here for many years and have seen lots of changes from when this office was Dr. Weaver. Most of the Dr. have been here at least 5 years now and some of the other staff as well. On 1/18/23 I was in and the young man at the front desk wasn't overly friendly and just handed me some papers to look over and sign without explaining anything at all. He didn't make much eye contact or smile. Maybe a bad day. The young lady who did the bulk of my testing was very friendly. (Christina I think). The woman who helped me with my glasses, Daniella, was very knowledgeable and friendly. I threw a curve ball at her and gave her a second insurance and she took the card and went got it taken care of. No complaints, no frownie face. She took care of it and on we went. Today, 1/19/23, I went back with a question. I met Marena who greeted me with a smile. She answered my questions and she was very pleasant to talk with. Bonnie was at the front desk also. I saw her in action yesterday and she was great with the folks I saw her with too. Daniella was with someone when I got there today and they both were smiling. That tells me a lot. My doctor is Dr. Kahna. I have had her for several years now and she's always the same. She is very professional. She takes her time with her patients. I have been very happy with the results I have gotten here. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because of interaction at the front desk yesterday. I have been a patient at the Wade Hampton location in Greenville SC for three years. The first appointment went well except the contact lens suggested had to be changed back to the brand I already wore.
The next year, waited longer to been seen by the Optometrist. Exchanged lens once again as prescription ordered was not the correct strength.
No one ever responded to calls or voicemail.
This year, waited even longer to see the optometrist even though the waiting room was vacant.
The lady who takes care of billing and ordering left a voicemail to call her after I had been in the office.
Again, no response to numerous calls and voicemails. Three weeks later a recorded voice stated my “eyewear “ was available for pick up. At this point I had ordered and received my contacts from 1-800 contacts within two days. I had left a voicemail stating I was ordering my contacts, again, no response. The telephone is never answered and no one responds to voicemails.
My sister is experiencing the same issues at this location. Incorrect prescription; no response to calls and three weeks later still has not received her contact lens. We both have vision insurance.
Apparently we are not the only patients who are dissatisfied . A lady came in while my sister was there for her appointment and stated loudly that her glasses were not correct for the third time. How many more have had the same issues ?
We like the optometrist as a person; however, neither my sister or I will ever return to any Myeye Doctor location. I am a Rn who provides the very best care to my patients and I expect all health care staff to do the same. This lack of concern for patients is unethical.MyEyeDr

The overcharge for designer frames. I purchased a pair of Versace frames for $350 before adding lenses and my prescription. I did research after my purchase which was backwards, however the Same Versace frames are priced $250 and lower EVERYWHERE else. I called MyeyeDr and notified them of my discovery and they dismissed me and told me to contact corporate. I want to know why the frames are priced so much higher, I feel robbed.MyEyeDr

Received a confirmation for my Saturday 01/07/2023 appointment on Friday 01/06/2023 by text message. Arrived at 8:20 am and was told because I did not call and verbally confirm this appointment that it was cancelled. I asked when it was cancelled since I received a confirmation yesterday that would lead me to believe I did not need to confirm. I was met with an attitude behind the counter , she said “when you didn’t verbally confirm this appointment”. She said we left you messages and you never returned the call. I explained that I work during the same hours they are open and I did not realize I had to confirm an appointment I made since I received this confirmation for the appointment. She said “a lot of people work during the day and return our phone calls.” She blamed me for their wishy washy system of confirmation. I was looking forward to this eye exam as my eyesight has deteriorated quite a bit over the last year more than likely due to my health issues. I come for my 1 time a year eye exam every year and I bring my children to this establishment for over ten years, never once having to confirm an appointment verbally. This system needs to be fixed as it has wasted my time and now I have to wait even longer to get an appt .MyEyeDr

Everything went great, until, the lady that was supposed to help my 11yr old son, found out that I was paying out of pocket, well she disappeared, and my son felt like he was profiled because he's biracial and I (his mom) was paying out of pocket, there are insurance issues that need to be corrected on my sons father's end.. To have my son treated less than and him and I leaving in tears was absolutely unexceptional!! I will be taking him elsewhere from here on out. She (the eyeglass professional) should be ashamed of herself.

I am unsure how this place is BBB accredited. Scheduled an appointment and confirmed twice. Showed up to my appointment to find the office closed for the day. Cannot contact anyone at the office as the number hangs up on you when you try to get through to speak to a human. My mother also experienced an issue with them cancelling her appointment the day of, so she was unable to use her insurance benefits for the year. Extremely disappointed. Will not be rescheduling.MyEyeDr

Terrible experience!!! Their "eye exam" takes a tenth of the time that any eye Dr. I have ever been to takes and is not thorough. They did one test, that I always get with other eye exams from my previous retired Dr., that they said I needed and then sent me an extra bill for $120.00 saying it was an additional exam. That was my portion. They billed my insurance $300.00!! They never informed me of this prior to the exam and I will never return to them nor do I recommend them to anyone. We have a big family and none of them will be going there either. I would give them a rating in the negative numbers if I could. That's what happens when a big company buys a smaller one that cared about their patients. I just spoke with another eye Dr that we had thought about going to and they bill an extra $20.00 for that exam but they let you know ahead of time that you will need to pay the $20.00 extra. If you do choose to go to MyEyeDr I advise you to check other people's pricing on eyewear too.MyEyeDr

I have never dealt with a more unprofessional medical office in my life.
My optometrist's practice was acquired by MyEyeDr, so this was my first time visiting the business. The office was busy, but not out of the ordinary. My doctor, Dr. H*******, is a good, personable, knowledgeable doctor that I have been seeing for years. He performed my eye exam in a satisfactory way. The problems started after.
I purchased contact lenses the same day, because I was told I needed to do so immediately or else my insurance would be delayed. This is the first time I've ever heard this and it should have been my first red flag. I proceeded with the order.
A week later the order came in, but with the wrong prescription. This is where headache after headache begins.
I told the person working the front desk the order was wrong, they told me it matched the computer, but I said this is not what the doctor had my try during the exam. I left the order with the office and was told I'd hear back when the doctor was back. I did not.
I called and continued to get the runaround.
At this point I have contacted the customer support office, they have done their best to resolve the situation, but it has not been enough. There is no urgency to resolve my situation as I am currently out $370 and no contact lenses in hand.
Once this is resolved with my order in hand or a refund, I will not be returning to this or any MyEyeDr office in the country. I hate to do this to the doctor I have built a relationship with for many years, but this has been the worst experience I've ever had.MyEyeDr
