1 starTotal scam. I requested service to replace exhaust manifold. I called customer service ahead of my appointment to let them know that manifold needed was on the passenger side and that there were bolts broken off and would require a new bolt kit, and extra hrs to remove broken bolts. I was told mechanic would have everything he needed to complete repair. When the mechanic arrived he said he was not contacted by customer service, and told me he could not do the repair because he didnt have correct tools. Repair was canceled by Your Mechanic, and I was charged $150 for work they could not perform, even though I told them ahead of time what was required.Review fromMorgayn Bonae T

Hello,
Diagnosing automotive issues can often be a step-by-step process to rule out or confirm part failures through visual inspection and/or appropriate tests. We state this upfront and clearly in our terms of service. See ******************************************************** for more detail, if needed.
Thank you.

1 starCompany is a complete scam. I requested a mechanic due to my car not accelerating after oil leak. The mechanic requested I replace the intake manifold gaskets and add transmission fluid. After the mechanic completed the work my car suddenly doesnt crank at all. My vehicle has an interlock device in it thus I had to get it towed to another service center to complete the recalibration so I reached out the mechanic to inform him that the car now has a new issue(unable to crank) after his work. He informed me to reach out to customer support who informed me that by taking it to another service center it voids the warranty and theres nothing they can do about it. They literally snatched 1k from me with no resolution at all for my original issue. I HIGHLY recommend going a different route when seeking car repairs. The convenience is not convenient AT ALL.Review fromGregory P

This company is definitely a scam company so buyers beware! I made the mistake of not researching them before requesting their service. Go to Yelp and you'll see the same as on here, all 1 star reviews. I acquired their service and prepaid but then canceled the service before it was performed. Their website it states a $75 cancellation fee but over the phone they told me it would only be a $50 cancellation fee and the $50 would go towards credit for the next service and they were going to refund the balance that I have paid and they sent me an email confirming this, which I'm so glad I saved the email and printed it out. I never received my refund so I went to their website to confirm their cancellation policy which state only a cancellation fee of $75. I printed out their cancellation fee and then sent a message to them asking about my refund. They went in actually changed their cancellation policy stating no refund for cancellations and then responded to my message stating that their cancellation policy is no refund. I knew they were going to do this so I was glad I printed out their cancellation policy before contacting them but it shows how crooked these people are. I scanned and forwarded the version their cancellation policy to them to show them what their policy was just a couple of hours ago. They responded and said they will give me my refund. That was 2 weeks ago and I still have not received it. This company cannot keep getting away with scamming people. They need to be taken out of business if this is how they treat their customers. As you see they only receive 1 star in their reviews. There is a reason for that.YourMechanic

Hello,
After booking the appointment, the customer opted into the locked-in discount promotion.* Opting into this promotion is 100% voluntary and is in no-way required to keep or book an appointment with YourMechanic. The terms of the promotion is that if the customer opts into the promotion, they will receive a discount if they prepay for the appointment. They also agree to receive a credit on the account (in lieu of refunding the original payment method), in the event the appointment is canceled.
The appointment was ultimately canceled as the customer booked the wrong vehicle information and this was not discovered until our mechanic arrived at the appointment. As agreed to, the prepaid amount was refunded as credit onto the account immediately upon cancellation.
Although we were not obligated in any way to process a refund of the prepaid amount, YourMechanic agreed to. We processed a refund of $196.31 on 6/2/2023. The only remaining amount not refunded, $50, is a valid cancellation fee.
If the customer has not received the funds back on their card/bank account, we suggest the customer contact their bank. Upon reading this review, we took the extra step to confirm the refund was processed with our credit processor. We have an Acquirer Reference Number (***) to confirm and prove the refund was processed. If the consents in his response, we can provide the *** in our follow up response.
Best regards,
YourMechanic
*Here are the exact terms the customer agreed to when opting into the locked-in discount promotion (full terms available at www.yourmechanic.com/terms-and-condition):

My point that I was trying to make is that they changed their terms and conditions after they told me they would refund my money. I never received my refund and inquired about it and then they changed their terms and conditions on their website. I had a feeling they were going to change their policy on their website so I took a screenshot, which I sent as an attachment to you and then an hour later they went in and changed their policy on their website. It's been a month since they originally told me they would issue a refund except a $50 cancellation fee and to this day I haven't received it. This company is crooked and playing dirty. At this point, I don't believe a word they say. Look at their reviews in general with BBB and Yelp and it lets you know who you're dealing with. They play games, are unreliable, don't provide good customer service and don't live up to their word. Twice they told me they would refund my money, which I sent those correspondence as attachments as well, and the refund has nothing to do with my bank. Anyone else who issues refunds, it's not a problem but they are wanting to throw the blame of not getting my refund towards my bank. Any business with these tactics and level of unsatisfactory customer level and complaints of scamming tendencies, should be shut down. If they really issued a refund, I would have gotten it within 3 business days. It's been a month. Please review all of the attachments I sent as proof that this company is not trustworthy. I have submitted 2 emails stating that they were refunding me $196.31. It is not that difficult to issue a refund and they need to change their customer service habits. And please review their reviews from other customers on BBB and Yelp and you will see I am not the only dissatisfied customer. Thank you.*******************************Review fromLisa A

1 starThis company is horrible. I paid $150 for an initial diagnostic which they did right away. Then when it comes to the actual repair they couldn't get anyone out for 2 weeks. That appointment got cancelled due to a mechanic emergency. I rescheduled for another week out, that mechanic had to reschedule due to an emergency. Horrible customer service, stay away! They wouldn't reimburse me a dime of the initial diagnostic. But if you have to reschedule within 48 hours they charge you $75. But when they have to reschedule TWICE they don't give you anything. Don't waste your time, take your car to a real mechanic.Review fromFrances A

1 starDidnt fix the problem. Came out only to do a diagnosis. I already knew there was an oil leak. It was why I made an appointment. I would have called and asked questions if their phone number was displayed prominently, but couldnt find it. It turns out later that it was at the very end of the site after lots of advertising. I made an appointment online and foolishly paid $166 for them to tell me I had an oil leak. Reached out by email 3X and was never replied to.Very deceptive business.Review fromWilliam C

1 starThey charged me for an "inspection" I did not request in order to recoup money for time spent on a job the mechanic failed to complete. The owner admitted that's what he did and told me my refund request was denied. Pure fraud!!!!!!!Review fromAndrea H

1 starMy daughters car needed a new Alternator so I thought I would try Wrench/Your Mechanic. I requested a quote and they said they would change my battery and if it was found that the battery was not defective they would not charge me for it. So after changing the battery the mechanic said the alternator was the problem and he came back a few days later to replace that. Then I discovered that my credit card was charged for both the battery and the alternator. I called customer service and they said they never heard of not charging for the battery and said to email them the quote they gave me that said that. So I did and they still refuse to refund me the charge for the battery. Beware, this seems very deceptive.Review fromJosh B.

1 star0 stars if I could. Horrendous business. My first time contacting YourMechanic in 2021 was a smooth experience. My ***** Accord needed a new starter, I provided the part mechanic replaced it in less than an hour. No issues. About 8 months later, May 2022, I booked an appointment to replace gasket valve cover, a couple minor leaks and a few additional services for $400+, paid ahead of time. The day of my appointment the mechanic no showed. After calling back numerous times I was unable to get a new mechanic until a week later. Fast forward to last weekend, I booked an appointment on Saturday to replace an alternator, the mechanic no showed (again). Luckily there was an available mechanic the next day. **** (16 yrs experience*) shows up and replaces the alternator and the serpentine belt. Upon completion, **** *forgot* his booster pack to start the car and told me, "just get a jump and it should work". He leaves without checking his work and making sure the car is operable. I get a jumpstart after he leaves and as soon as I drive the vehicle for the first time, the serpentine belt and timing belt essentially shred and disintegrate. I contacted YourMechanic immediately and was told I would be charged for an inspection to determine whether the damage was related to the job or not. Here I am $300 down the hole with no running car. Instead I decided to do the work myself. Terrible company, terrible service, incompetent mechanics and poor communication and business ethics.Review fromMichelle S

1 starEver us this company again they did damage to my SUV and refused to fix it or pay me what fairly belonged to me because the job done costed more repairs by a mechanic that was not high off his ****. Avoid this service at all costs or you will have to pay more money for more repairs trust me like $5000.00 to fix the damage the man did. They should be shut down. You have been warned
